  1. Good job and awesome results! What did you eat to stay under 900 calories? Can you please share.....
  2. Just checking in to see how everyone is healing... I'm doing ok, I have not weighed myself.. Kinda scared might have gained since I'm eating. Still keeping calories under 1000, but I'm thinking the carbs maybe my problem. The plication definitely keeps me from overeating. It works! My last dr. Appt I was down 12 lbs that was may 31. Anyway how is everyone else doing?
  3. I've lost 12 lbs since surgery, I wouldn't worry to much because a loss is better than a gain and besides if you notice some of the reported loss includes the pre op loss. We are doing good just stay positive you can't compare your loss to anyone else. Lots of factors to consider like how much was the start weight.

  7. Hey everyone! Glad to hear u all are doing Awesome- :-). Melinda you are a success and inspiration to us all. No one is going to be perfect on this journey, besides you lost a lot of weight in a short time... That's awesome! Another thing your Dr. Is out of order he does not have the same struggle as u do does he? Has he ever had a weight issue? Probably not so he should really be praising you on your weight loss thus far. You are doing awesome and at least you know what you are doing to gain and you know what to do to lose. Any motivation I'm sure you have all of our support. Ttyl- thanks for being here for us and now we will pay it forward. U got this!

    Congrats and welcome to the banded side! Glad to hear everything went well. Rest up and don't worry if you can't consume much just try to hermits of liquid so you will stay hydrated.
  11. I use it without a problem and my Dr. Is ok with me using it. I use the powdered one and blend it. Ask your Dr. If it's ok for you to use it.
  12. Milk of magnesia worked for me and then to make sure I stay regular I put flax seed (powder) or psyllium husk (powder) in my smoothies, shakes or oatmeal.

    Try mint tea! Its also what I do in addition to walking. It helps!

    Hey!!

    In the beginning it was very hard for me to get in a lot of anything. As far as the water I've always drank lots if it but since the surgery it's hard to consume as much as I used to. The faster your swelling goes down the more you will be able to eat/ drink. I can now drink my entire Pre made protein shake which is 11oz. It takes me about 20 min. If I make a shake and add my Greek yogurt and sf pudding with ice and unsweetened almond milk, I can only drink about 5.5-6 oz of that. When I'm eating my mushy meal depending on what it is I may eat a little over 6oz but not the full cup.

    Hey!!

    Congrats on the weight dropped! I was tired with little energy too! It's probably because we are not consuming that many calories. A little energy is back now cause I'm drinking a full protein shake now and eating a little more calories. Still trying to get in all my water, it's tough but I'm pushing to meet my goal of at least 64oz daily. I'm still only walking as far as exercise, my Dr. Says I'm still a little awoken near my port (no pain there unless I move to fast) so just keep walking for now.

    Congrats Kah! Everyone is different don't worry.. I'm still excited too. I lost 12lbs post op and I'm on mushies and have stayed the same- no loss. I'm still happy with that because it's still less than I was. I'm sure the weight loss will start up again. We can't be compared to each other and or feel some kind if way when someone else results are different from ours. At least that's how I feel. We are here for support for each other- good and the not so good! So with that said you stay excited and again Congrats!

    One Week Post Op

    FF retried beans, hummus, bean soup, Greek yogurt with reduced or no sugar strawberry preserves. I eat Fage Greek yogurt and I also use it like sourcream over the refried beans with cheese. I was banded with plication May 18. I'm just starting mushies! Great on the weightloss.
