Incisions are still sore, tender. Some gas pains still. Had surgery Thursday and quit the pain pills on Sunday. It's not that bad.

No kidding! LOL I've tried to change things up a bit. I have strawberry Body Fortress (WalMart) 26gr a scoop, added to 1 cup of skim milk 8gr then added a pkt of Wonderslim (online) pudding/smoothie mix 15gr. add some ice and blend. It tasted pretty good and gave me a good amount of protein. I've been having trouble getting enough each day. Yesterday I did 2 scoops of the body fortress for 52gr. That really helps the day. I sip it over probably a two hour period, suggested by the nurse at my doctors offce.

Lap Band Yesterday, Nausea Today
Ladybug28 replied to mere0023's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Didn't your doctor give you something for nausea? Mine did in the hospital and prescription to take home. Not good to be vomiting so soon. I'd call your doctor tomorrow. Hope it gets better! -
Congrats Lisa and welcome! Good luck on your journey!

2 Years And Frusterated :(
Ladybug28 replied to mrslamica's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree with the others but I have to say, and please know I'm not trying to be mean, but wouldn't it be easier to lose by staying off the carbs, like the bread and pasta? I just know how I am with bread and pasta which is part of my need to resort to the banding. Just a thought. -
Surgery Scheduled Finally
Ladybug28 replied to kariew28's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congratulations!! I was just banded last week on the 22nd and feel the same way! Good luck and enjoy your journey! -
Hi Judy! Not sure which post you read but I'm doing great! The gas pains come and go but are getting better. Thanks for your concern though! Hope you're doing well and on the road to recovery! Deb

Are you back home or in the hospital? If your meds aren't working I'd call your doctor. Prop yourself up so you're not lying flat and just try to sleep on you back for the first night or two. I only had small ice chips the first day of banding and water sips the next day until 3oz protein drink starting around 10:30am. Stay positive and just remember the discomfort doesn't last that long. Hang in there, hope the recovery gets better for you! Deb

Glad you're back home Alex. Keep up on the pain meds and have the gasX strips ready, My gas pains didn't start until 3 days later. Walk often, even if its just around the house. Take things easy, hope you have a smooth recovery! Deb

Congrats! Just make sure you stop every hour or so to walk! Ask your doctor about socks or something for your legs to prevent blood clots. I only had to drive an hour and a half home and had to stop two times to get out and walk. Take a pillow for you stomach and hopefully your seat will tilt back for that long of a trip. All I did for the first couple of days was sleep on and off. Stay up on your pain meds and make sure you have gasX strips handy! Good luck on your journey! -
Your employer should offer you cobra insurance, I beleive for a term of 18 months.

Good job Jason!! Keep that positive awesome attitude and you'll keep doing wonderfully!! I had the hernia repair too, didn't have a clue I had one. And if it wasn't for the doctor telling me that I had one repaired I still wouldn't know it. I don't feel any pain from that at all. I kept expecting the worse from reading about everyone on here who had one, and still nothing?? Weird. Good luck to you on your recovery and journey!! Hope it continues to go well! Deb

Violet I can't even tell for sure where my port is??!! So I don't have that problem, lol Maybe yours just isn't settled in yet? Call your doctors nurse, she can give you an explanation probably. Hope you're doing well. Deb

Unjury Chicken Soup Single-Serve Packet

I really like it also and when you're on liquids it's wonderful to have something at least warm! I agree I wish I could have it warmer, but I usually just pop it in the micro to warm it up if it cools off too much. I like the fact that it mixes so easily too. I haven't noticed a smell like some of the other powders. Good protein for a cup of broth. -
General Ramblings About The State Of My Life...
Ladybug28 replied to angel_eyes4477's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
So sorry about your mom, I know how hard that is. Focus on the good times and your love for each other to get you through the several months. Stay positive and delight in the fact that you're losing so well and down so many sizes already. Hang in there...one saying I love is: "Don't cry because it's over, smile that it happened." That you were lucky enough to have a wonderful mother and all the years that you got to have her with you and blessed by the love you shared. -
Welcome to both you girls, Jennie and Kerry~ You're having the same feelings that all of us have had. The key to success from what I see on this forum is following what your doctors say, stay positive and keep telling yourself that you can do this. I'm newly banded, just last Thursday sp not at expert by any means but I am a professional dieter and gainer!! lol I decided to finally get off the yo-yo lifestyle and get it off (again) but to keep it off this time. The band is just another tool for us, it's up to us how we use it for our best results. No need to worry about the surgery you'll do fine. Good luck to you both on this exciting journey we're all on! Deb
