Bayougirl... I thought it kind of sounded strange so I asked her twice.... so I guess I need to ask my doctor at the next appt. Its funny how everything is so diffrent for everyone!

Congrats on your journey!! Is it ok for you to eat grits?? I saw the nutritionist yesterday and she told me no grits or oatmeal until I was at a happy weight and ready for maintenance....just asking I have not even been banded yet...

I have tricare insurance and went to my last appoinment today!!! The doctors office says they will be submitting no later than monday for approval. How long does this process usually take for tricare patients??? Super excited and ready to start my journey.....

For those of you that have tricare insurance I want to know how long did it take for approval after all of your pre op papers and appointments were done? I go for my last appointments with the psych and nutritionist tomorrow. Super excited but so ready for a set date. My doc's office is saying late February as the latest for a surgery date... Just asking thanks for all responses.

I have been doing a lot of research and was told by someone a few years ago that had lap band that you are not allowed to eat popcorn or any type of nuts afterward. Is this true? Also is any alcohol allowed after a certain point preoperatively? Any and all comments are appreciated. Thanks in advance....

I have my psych eval and nutrition appt on Feb 1st...and then I am done!! My doc is telling me I should have a Feb date!!! CONGRATS TO US ALL... I can't wait to be a HEALTHIER, HAPPIER, AND SEXIER ME!! GOOD LUCK ALL..

I actually had this done today. Its like everyone says EASY. The hard part for me was that the dye was awful tasting. But I am done with it!! Good luck!

Of course this was a discussion for the husband and I. I have told 2 of my sisters, one friend who is also intrested in the surgery, and one who has undergone WLS. I finally decided in December 2011 I am ready for a change! And I only have two more appointments to attend and I can schedule... So I'm super excited. But I also feel its strictly on a need to know, and my sisters were proof because neither one of them want me to go through with it, but this is for me so I'm pushing forward!!
