Ok I start my pre-op diet on Monday February 20th....and I am getting a little nervous!!! Is there any pointers you guys can give me on how to do this without starving??... I DO NOT want to cheat myself out of jumpstarting my metabolisim so I don't want to cheat on this AT ALL... OMG its really hitting me that this is about to happen.....

Ok so I am only allowed sugar free/ zero calorie drinks, one sugar free pudding, one sugar free jello, one low carb yogurt like carbmaster from Kroger and protein shakes a day!! No chewable foods at all..... I know this is going to be challenging hoping I can fight through!!!

Overall I can say the process is a breeze, except the psych eval. Everything you say they try to make it an eating issue/eating disorder! Just don't question what they say and go along. By the time I left I was told I had a food addiction and it was due to my mother death which I absolutly do not agree with. but any whoo. There are a lot of appointments and back and forth but its going to be worth it. Also start doing some sort of exercise acivity because at every appointment you go to they will be asking!! I also started replacing one meal a day with protein shakes usually breakfast just to get use to the taste. Good luck

I work at a base and also have tricare and they started negotiations on monday for their new contract so they probably wont be approving anything until about April or so!! Lucky for me my referral was put in ahead of time...

FINALLY APPROVED!! WHOOP WHOOP...SCHEDULDED MARCH 5TH.....

So I was sent to insurance for approval on Monday and found out today it was denied because they are saying the original referral didnt come from my primary care doctor. WELL IT DID.... Tricare decided to change my primary doctor today and now has denied the referral. So now I am in the process of switching back to my primary doctor who did the referral and hoping that this will all be behind me on tomorrow....... THIS SUXXXXXXX

Yes it does suck!!! Hopefully we will be approved next week....GOOD LUCK

So they finally have me switched back to my original primary care physcian and now its pending again..... LETS SEE WHAT HAPPENS THIS TIME!!

GLove yes it is your turn!! I started in Dec 2011 and my insurance is saying 24-48 hours for approval/denial... so I am super duper excited!!! I am aiming for this month my surgeon has open availability so I going for it ASAP!!! GOOD LUCK..

Thx guys I decided to do a week off and a week light duty( just in case)....

I am a nurse and I work in a clinic setting, so I am walking all day. I also have to stand for long periods of time to do procedures and sometimes assessments on the patient. So with that being said is a week long enough or should I stay home for 2 weeks? I know this varies by person but any experience/input is great appreciated. YOU GUYS ROCK... thx

Ok I am in the process of going through WLS... I have 2 more appointments and I am getting a lot of negative feedback about the lap band.... I am a nurse and I am not really familiar with lap band, except for what I have researched but I inquire many patients that have it. One patient I had today had the lap band in 2006 at 250lbs and is at about 240 today. Should I go for the gusto and get gastric or should I go for the lap band?? CONFUSED AT TIMES. ALL COMMENTS ARE GREATLY APPRECIATED... AND FYI... I AM 5'4 242 LBS...
