Thx everyone. I know there are a lot of options. But he says no carbs so that is very limiting. thx for the ideas...
  2. Had my first adjustment this morning and so far so good. Not really feeling any different but hopefully I will in a few days..... I was super scared and thought it was going to be painful but she was done and I was sitting there with my eyes shut so tight when she said or you ok? And I said just waiting for the pain.. she laughed and said all done... 2cc in the band..
  3. Ok so I am 1 month post op and my port site has been a little bit sore but nothing to slow me down. I woke up this morning ironed then the pain hit so bad I had to call in to work. I was not able to stand straight. I took some pain meds and now feel better but I am wondering what is all this pain about. I had no real pain after surgery and I have been doing great. Oh I forgot to mention I did abt 45 min on the eliptical yesterday could this be the cause?????.....

    Lapband Or Gastric Bypass

I also went back and forth but what made me choose the lap band was it was slower weight loss which is more natural, ur able to tone as you loose, and also the malabsorption. With malabsorption your body is not able to use all minerals and vitamins the same anymore. So you will have to take Iron, multivitamin, b-12 injections, calcium, and vit D for the rest of your life. With lap band only a multivitamin and you are good to go. But you also need to factor in how much you need to loose. Just do your research write down questions you have and be prepared to drill your surgeon when you meet this him. They like you to ask alot of questions anyways it lets them know that ur are very intrested in the best thing for your health. GOOD LUCK ON YOUR JOURNEY...

Went for my post op visit today and every thing is going very well. Although the doctors scale is 4lbs more than mine... uughhh any who.. I was able to start foods today YYAAAYYY. So I have had 2 ounces tuna salad, and 3 orange slices for lunch, and 2 ounces of talpia and 1 once of cabbage. So far things are good. And I am happy that I can actually chew something. I get my first fill April 5th so another milestone to look forward to. Back to work tomorrow for me uugghh. But only one day then the weekend. March bansters we are moving along....

    March Bandsters!

Preneec- When I started reading everyones stories it made me a little scared about all the pain and gas. I actually had very minimal pain, NO gas pain, but had a lot of gas. I only took my pain meds to help me sleep. Now 9 days post op and I have to take them only when I over do it, like cleaning my house. But still more sorness than actuall pain. You will do well. The key things for me were getting up as soon as I could, a lot of walking, and I took extra stregnth gas x every 5-6 hrs (4 per day) you will do great. Keep us posted.

    March Bandsters!

Ok I read on here that a lot of people are eating sugar free fudge pops. I went to look for them in the store and all the ones I saw had like 14g of carbs. Is there a special one you guys are eating with low are no carbs? 4 more days on this liquid diet then to soft foods. Trying to find something different tired of soup, yougurt and protein shakes.. Thx in advance.
  14. 8 days post op and doing great. I go for my first post op appointment on the 15th, and then my first fill on April 5th. Down 21 pounds what more could I really ask for at this point? Besides continued success...

    March Bandsters!

I am doing great. I can actually tell when I try to do too much though. Like bending to give my baby a bath, or vaccum cleaning. After doing both of those I had to take pain meds which I have not taken in 2 days. So a little sore at times. I to have that burping feeling like it gets stuck in my throat but never actually comes out. So I know the weird feeling....

Had surgery on March 5th and today I currently weigh......221.. 21lbs down and loving it!!! I have my family reunion in June and hoping to look a lot different. I have only told 2 of my sisters and my sister in law so I am super excited. Hope the weight continues to come off.......

    March Bandsters!

Sunshyne068- I am day 6 post op. Do you have any anti nausea meds? It is not good to vomit, so I have heard. Also go very slowly about 1-2 min between sips of ur broth this may help. The pain you are feeling is gas pain. Try drinking warm tea and take some gas x. It has done wonders for me. I have not actually had any pain because I have been taking gas x 3-4 times a day about 5 hrs apart and drinking hot tea first thing in the morning and again before bed. CONGRATS and best of luck on your journey..

    March Bandsters!

SGP78- I also have that feeling once in a while. Its almost like I have to burp then it gets stuck. Weird...
  21. Day 5 post op, and I think I over did it this morning. I hate an unclean house so I was up washing dishes and vaccum cleaning and started to feel a little pain. Took my meds and a nap and feel 100% better. About to take a bath and get out of the house for a while. I have not been able to do more than 2 protein shakes a day. But I am doing hot tea and drinking water. Soo all is good in bandland.

    Pain 1 Week Post Op

Yeah not having a BM is not good at all for over 2 days. I am a nurse and we always recommend miralax twice a day for two days if still no BM u need to call ur surgeron.
  23. 4 days post op and so far good. No major pain, so thats a plus. Lots of walking, warm tea, and gas x!!!

    March Bandsters!

3 days post-op and doing great. Aside from being sleepy as all get out. Still not having the infamous gas pains but I am passing gas. Getting up and walking and drinking lots of hot tea, taking gas x, and anti nausea medications. I have only felt nauseated once but since the doc advised no vomitting I just take it to be on the safe side. Guess being a nurse at this point helps out a lot. I am nursing myself back to health slowly. My husband has been wonderful and he went back to work today, so I have to pick the kids up from daycare. I think I will have someone drive me not up for driving at all. So far all is well in bandland...
