How long did the extreme soreness in your mid-section last after surgery? Thats the part thats killing me along with I think my gas is trapped in that area too. It never reached my shoulders. Also, my pantlett says that after 2-3 days after surgery to try pudding, yogurt and applesauce. Am I the only one getting into this quickly.

Got banded today.. Feel ok but extremely sore in my mid area. No gas pain in shoulder so idk if that comes later.... IN BANDLAND!

So tomorrow I m officially going into bandland. The nerves gain every minute. As of yesterday I was down 14 lbs. from last Wed. So happy with myself and didnt cheat once. I just hope everything goes well and that im feeling ok once i leave!! The journey begins...

Im allowed to get into pudding, yogurt, fudgesicles 3-4 days after surgery. Do you think applesauce and mashed potatoes would fall into the category too. They are the same texture as pudding and yogurt and I know a friend who did this. Also when finally able to eat, what were some of the reg. foods that you first get into that are easy on the band? Thanks for the help!

So my surgery is in 2 DAYS and my nerves are getting to me. I kep thinkin positive but the negatives always kick in sometimes. Like today looking on the site and seeing someone write "Dying on the Table" does not help. Anyways... I just want everything to go smoothly and me wake up from anthesia with no problems. That is my biggest fear is waking up for sure because never been under before... Need some advice/encouragment

3 days into Pre-Op and was just dying to see if my weight loss was working yet plus my exercising on an already exhausted body. Well I have lost 8 pounds in three days... this makes all the miserable stuff im going through so much easier. I have the biggest smile knowing I could lose 15 lbs possibly before walking into surgery!!!

I feel your pain also. I am on day 3 of my week of pre-op diet but I can only have certain liquids, all of which ive become sick of already. I am starving and weak but I keep thinking what this will be in the end, something I have dreamt of all my life to be smaller. This is a HUGE step for the future probably one of the hardest parts. Hold your head high, you can do it!

Im Mallory. I am a 21 year old female going into my senior year of college. I am majoring in Elementary Education with a minor in mathematics. I cannot wait to become a teacher. This is some of the influence for me getting my surgery because I want to the the best teacher and role model for children that I can be and this includes being able to do things with thme in all activities. I love to play sport, I am VERY active. I excell in softball where I play first base and bat usual fourth. I also am very good at defender in field hockey. I still live with my family consisting of my mom, dad and younger sister. They are my strength through this whole process...

So... I start my all liquid pre-op diet tomorrow and my surgery is in 8 days!! Wow... So intense. Im so nervous but excited at the same time. I've never been put to sleep before so im extremely worried and ive never even had an IV. Im just so overwhelmed.... I keep thinking... Will I make it 7 days eating NOTHING? Will I come out of surgery perfectly fine? Its just an instict but im so excited to see the results!! Any encouragement or stories for me?

A bowel prep? Ive never heard anything of that... Does that mean I wont be getting that and what is it.

I can have water, crystal light, 100% juice, soups but they have to be tomatoe soup or chicken broth, SF popsicles, SF jello and of course my protein shakes. Thats about all. I am going to stick to it 100% because I want my liver to be easy to get around for surgery.

My surgery is also in 8 days and I have the extreme nerves too. Im only 21 and have so much more ahead of me and the thoughts do run through my mind as well!!

Feel for me.... I have to do a 7 day prior nothing but sugar free liquid diet!

I know they say it is rare but is anethetic awareness really happen that much. I watched that movie Awake and it has me so nervous for this surgery! Did everyone's surgeries go fully under?

How has this helped anyone? Watching them manuver those tools kinda freaked me out and made me more nervous...

Thanks alot all of you. Just extremely nervous because this is my first operation/being put to sleep/iv. And being young does not help lol but everyday I think more and more of how many people go under in a days time and come out fine, especially lap band.

Another pre bander waiting to be banded. I now have less than 2 weeks, so the nerves are setting in. My first surgery and its a big one.

Are blood clots that possible after surgery?

Hello All... I beginning to get really nervous about the surgery. I am still really young and this is my first surgery/ being put to sleep. I just want everything to go smoothly and like its suppose to. I want to do everything right. Some questions... Are most of you exercising during the week before liquid diet?

Feel the same way. Just want the band to work 100%. I will be banded on the 20th also!

Congratulations on the banding. Im nervous about mine so I hope mine will go really really well as well. I cannot wait. 2 weeks!!!
