Congrats everyone!!!! I was having some acid reflux issues after my last fill so my doc took 0.25 cc out ... i have like 4.25 cc now in an 11cc band. anyone else having acid reflux issues and you never had them before surgery? I have been taking Prilosec and it's helping control the reflux pretty well now. My weight is going up and down about 3 lbs for the last 3 wks or so ... I'm gonna try and do a day or 2 of only liquids and see if that helps break the stall ... but I always end up eating something solid LOL ... wish me luck I go back to the doc in 2 wks ... maybe he'll give me another fill.

have you tried the "5 day pouch test" to break your plateau? (google it or search on the forums) also what about exercise? change up your current routine ... or add an extra 20-30 mins to what youre doing twice a week and see if that helps. maybe up your calories for 2 days then drop them back down and see if that shocks your body into dropping some pounds. You look great from you avatar pic though ... great job so far!

try to explore new foods and maybe you will find something that you like. for me its been fresh fruit. I never really ate a LOT of fruit before ... but now that I know it fills me up AND is low in calories, I'll eat an apple as a dessert or snack, and I HATED apples before!!! Grapes, bananas, prunes, you name it, I'll take that 80-100 calorie snack over a bag of chips. What about egg and cheese quiche for Breakfast? Yogurt? Explore the world of Soups that's out there - tomato, crab, chicken, chili, the list is endless. I get annoyed that it takes me FOREVER to eat a sub sandwich, or fried chicken ... so I eat those things less. But Im forcing myself to be in the mindset that those items arent healthy for me anyway. Im only 4 months post op but you will get into the swing of things soon. Hang in there.

Whats The Workout To Loose Weight Faster?
Sunshyne068 replied to s0utherndivadoll's topic in Fitness & Exercise
my peronsal trainer has me doing HIIT training. Ive tried TRX suspension training, P90X, strength training, pilates, yoga, modern dance ... none of that had nearly the amount of impact as just changing my diet and limiting my calories. The new diet in conjunction with pure cardio really helped me out. Im toning up and losing inches nicely. -

I'm gonna download one of the apps to my ipod this weekend. Wish me luck!!! -
I JUST tried the TRX workout last night. Lellow how are you coming along with it? is it giving you the toning results without the extra weight loss? My whole body hurts today.

My doctor said that the stomach is like a balloon, and the horizontal position of sleeping makes the stomach "deflate" or collapse. So when you wake up it takes a while to "inflate" and return to normal.

when you look at the complications thread, you see ONLY complications .... you need to look at the whole picture. did you look at the success threads also? -

the lump in the throat can be caused by irritation from constant reflux.

I think a lot of dcotors have different pre-op diets. I would "think" its ok but you should probably double check with someone at your doctor's office

Help: Does Weight Loss Just Happen?
Sunshyne068 replied to supportRO's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
my doctor told me to follow the rule of 1000 calories a day. I rarely get that low. Some days im not hungry at all, other days I feel very hungry, and as soon as I start eating, I'm full. Other days Im starving and I can eat and eat and eat. I have good weeks where I lose weight, and sometimes I just stay the same or gain a pound. I don't believe the weight just falls off. I workout (intensly) 3-4x a week. I try to watch my fat and my carbs, but hey Im not perfect hahaha. But overall I just try to eat healthy - wheat breads, low calorie Proteins, low fat yogurt, salad with lite dressing on the side, fresh fruits, etc. -

I have federal BCBS also. I think I owed the hospital $146. I owed my surgeon $150. Copays for the psych eval were like $95, and one doctor visit for $20 = total of $411. -
don't worry. i GAINED before I got a fill and now I'm down 14 lbs. just be patient.

What You Haven't Lost All The Weight Yet?
Sunshyne068 commented on Jim1967's blog entry in Jim1967's Blog
I think yuo should use your co-worker comments as an opportunity to prove everyone wrong and shut them up with your success. You're not a failure, I can guarantee you that. The fact that you are taking the time out to get your emotions in check lets me know that you can be in control of this situation. Don't let other ppl discourage you! Exercise, eat right, and make it work. Good luck!!!! -
im a member of bodyspace, but I havent logged in since before surgery. I'll look it up now. my username is sunshyne068

you are going thru "bandster" hell. don't obsess with the scale right now. once you start to get fills you will lose weight again. Not at 1 lb a day, but it will come off. Do a search on the forum for "bandster hell" and Im sure you will find everything you ever wanted to know about this period in your band life cycle

do any of you have acid reflux when you're too tight? do you believe that constant acid reflux is a sign of being too tight?
