Bahamas Cruise In 6 Weeks, 5 Day Pouch Test
Sunshyne068 replied to Sunshyne068's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Luckily we signed up for the "sit-down" meals and not the buffet - or so I THINK - ... and I'll have to make a rule for myself not to eat after 9pm each night (hoping that's an attainable goal). I plan to exercise on the ship and do some walking ... do they have Zumba on cruise ships now? That would be awesome if they did ... So day 3 went ALL out of whack .... yesterday was actually pretty good in comparison. I stayed up until 4am bc I partied with my friends, went to a nightclub and danced and got sweaty (yay to burning calories) ... but when I woke up late for work at 9am, I didn't plan out a good breakfast. I walked into work at 10:30 to TWO boxes full of dunkin donuts (UGGGGGG) I broke down and ate half a donut this morning. AT least I drank a Protein shake with my donut in hopes of regulating the sugar spikes <IDK how accurate that is> lunch wasnt bad, as I had some baked chicken wings and some broccoli and diet iced tea ... I need to focus! I'll keep you guys posted on my progress this evening as I am going to a CRAB FEAST ... luckily that's all protein and no carbs, but they have additional items like hot dogs and rolls, potato salad, alcohil beverages and Desserts ... I'm just gonna focus on the lean protein from the steamed crabs. -

Thanks for all the support guys! I couldnt do it without you! So ... it looks like day 2 is also gonna be 2 liquid meals and 1 solid meal ... SIGH!!! I had a burger on a bed of lettuce (no bun) for lunch ... but I did eat some potato wedges (ugggggg) ... I'm going to the gym tonight and I'm well under my calorie limit so far .... so hopefully this at least yeilds some results. I'll try to post measurements tonight (just gotta find my tape measure). -
Bahamas Cruise In 6 Weeks, 5 Day Pouch Test
Sunshyne068 replied to Sunshyne068's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hey all! I didnt lose a lot of weight fast. During the 1 week liquid pre-op diet I only lost 3 lbs, and I've only lost about 10 lbs after surgery. I do eat Protein first, but I have been eating bad carbs and veggies at about the same rate. I am on myfitnesspal, my screen name is sunnyhoney11. My food diary is public, please add me guys!! So let me tell you how day 1 went - SIGH - well .... I woke up almost ravenously hungry, so I ate some veggie straws (kinda like potato chips but they are shaped like sticks and made with ground potato, tomato, and spinach) ... so there goes the day of all liquids on the 1st day!!! SO basically I had a solid lunch, and liquid Breakfast and liquid dinner. I took in under 1100 calories so maybe I didn't do too bad. I shall try again tomorrow for the all liquids. I'll post a picture of the dress I want to fit in for the cruise as well (added motivation). Thanks all for following me on this journey!!! -

Eating With Large Groups At Big Meals After Lap Band
Sunshyne068 replied to Lapbandster's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is a tricky one ... and for ME, MY PERSONAL experience has been that I go to a function, get a plate of food, and eat my 1 cup of food ... then I socialize. AND THEN after I see people continuing to eat and getting 2nds ... my 1 cup of food turns to 1.5-2 cups of food and I have a tight chest and a tummy ache for the next few hours .... You have to learn what works for you. What does NOT work for me is attending these functions and trying to act normal. I'm a creature of habit, and my habit is overeating .... I think you need to make sure you make healthy choices for youself but try to balance the social aspect of these functions. Instead of sitting at the table, get up and walk around and talk to people. Search the web on your phone or tablet, play with the kids, offer to help clean up so that while people are eating you're busy cleaning dishes or taking out the trash. Good luck! -
Why I'm Not Telling My Mother In Law
Sunshyne068 replied to Disney Nut's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
you have to be very careful who you tell, and you're doing the right thing deciding now who will know and who wont. Mothers-in-law can be brutal so I feel your pain. Mothers can be brutal too (I know that as well). Just keep in mind that you need supportive, non-judgmental people in your corner. If you cant count on anyone that you know, turn to the message board. Good luck and welcome! -
I can eat 1 to 1.5 cups of food. if i eat 2 cups i get the signals that ive done TOO much. If your 1/2 cup of food is good lean proteins mostly then you will stay satisfied.

dquoiya I am in the SAME EXACT boat as you! I was banded March 9 ... and I'm down a total of maybe 12-15 lbs (the scale keeps going up and down for the last month) ... I exercise pretty hard 3 days a week. I take in about 1200-1300 cals a day. I'm gonna try and limit my bad cards (bread, potatoes, pasta) and see if that helps jump start this weight loss. I go on a cruise in 6 weeks and I really want to look my best! so wish me luck everyone!!! dquoiya hang in there!

I like "Oh Yeah" protein shakes .... ready to drink ... very low sugar and 32 g of protein per 14 oz bottle.
-
I have the carb cravings ... and salt too. If I eat doritos or a cookie or something then it sends me on a downward spiral.

Does Our Age Make A Difference?

Mandy feel free to email me or send me a private message on the forum. Info@sydneywyatt.com You can also FB me. My FB email is sunshyne068@yahoo.com and you can search for me. I do have a personal trainer and I workout a lot now, more than I ever did before. I can really see a difference in my body because of working out. The only time I lose weight without working out is if I take in 900-1000 calories a day. -
I have always loved water slides ... but back in May i went to a water park that had the super fast slides ... and I was going down laying flat on my back and I felt something weird going on in my chest ... maybe it was adrenaline or something but I kinda started to freak out. I kinda sat up on the slide while I was going really fast and I think that may have made things worse. My band seemed tighter for about a day after I got off the slide. I have not had any problems with the slides that have inflated inner tubes ...

The Best Birthday Gift.....50 Lbs Loss

I would say decrease calories ... since you have lost a lot of weight your body may no longer need 1200 calories ... how about 1000 1050 for 3 days and see if that helps. or do a liquid diet for 2 days and see if that breaks the plateau

I lost 3 lbs on the liquid diet.

I did atkins when I was 21 ... the weight came off without any effort. I did atkins again when I was 26 ... I lost less than 20% of the weight that came off the 1st time. Im not sure how it goes with the band ... but I was (still am) 28 when I got banded. -
I want to weight under 200 lbs ... I literally cannot remember a time in my life when I weighed less than 200 lbs, so to get to "onederland" is like a dream for me. I have 45 lbs to go to get there.

3 Months Post Op 3 Fills No Weight Loss Please Help
Sunshyne068 replied to dquoiya's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Have you been counting your calories/fat/carbs? Does your doctor have you meet with a nutritionist as part of your surgical program? Dont give up! 3 months isnt that long. i'm 4 months post op and i've lost 16 lbs. i WISH it were more ... but I have to take what I can get. -
if you dont have any signals that you have done damage to yourself, and you have followed the written guidelines provded by your surgeron, then I think you should be fine. just ask your doctor at your next apt.
