LAPBAND DIDN'T WORK FOR ME
Sunshyne068 replied to pstevens9@cogeco.ca's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Im over a year out and Ive lost under 30 lbs. I dont think the band failed me, I think I need to keep working and tweaking and trial and error to find what things/habits make me gain weight, and what things/habits make me lose weight. Im very sorry that you didnt have as much success as you would have liked, and Im sorry that you are now having pain near your port. I do sincerely hope that with this renewed need to see your doctor, you may be able to get more insight about how the band can be used to help you get to your goals. -
Two part question...need input
Sunshyne068 replied to jennygirl37's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
1500-1700 cals seems like a lot for someone on this journey. i agree that you should reduce those and see where it gets you. also, try and switch one meal for a liquid meal (Protein shake, diluted fruit juice, broth soup) or something. that may help. try not to eat after 8pm maybe? if you go to bed early, try not to eat after 7pm? -
premier protein from costo like someone else said is awesome. and "oh yeah" protein shakes form luckyvitmain.com are great. they have banance cream, cookies and cream, and strawberry cream and all are very good. i sometimes with them with fat free frozen yogurt.

I have wrapped myself twice in the past month and I have to say that my midsection does look slimmer and more tone (granted I didn't really need any proof). I'm glad this came up in conversation, I think I'm gonna wrap myself again tonight. I do the wraps along with Arbonne detox tea, and since I dont drink anything other than water, tea, or 100% fruit juice, my system is flushing itself pretty well.

Hey March bandsters!!!! Anyone that has lost 50 lbs or more over this past yr???? I would love to hear from you, and any tips/tricks that you can offer would be darling! Do you strive to get in XX grams of Protein a day? Do you stay away from carbs - bread, Pasta, rice, etc? Do you drink XX oz of Water each day? Any tips would be helpful, as I want my 2nd year to be more fruitful than my 1st!

I am in the EXACT same boat. I am a year out and I'm only down like 25 lbs. Granted I've never lost 25 lbs in a year on my own so Im thankful ... but sheesh I wish the results were quicker. Can we be 1 year support buddies? My email is info@sydneywyatt.com and on MFP my screen name is sunnyhoney11

I was kinda off this morning ... for breakfast I had a small caesar salad with a scoop of tuna, and I had a mini brownie. 300 cal total for my meal. -
i just ordered the free Bariatric Choice catalog and i wanted to know if anyone has ordered form them before and if they like it ... if so, what are your favorite items?
-
i ordered the WonderSlim sample pack for $18.99 ... didnt have the stuff i really wanted inside (mostly shakes and the cheesecake flavored pudding) but so far Ive tried the hot chocolate and the chicken noodle soup. I have had worse Protein foods so I can't complain. I added a spalsh or french vanilla creamer to the pudding, and i added a little salt to the soup. the items are very low in calories and have a good amount of protein (~12g) per packet so I think i'll order more stuff and keep you guys posted.

There Is No Question, For Me, Lapband Will Work! And Here's How I Know...
Sunshyne068 replied to LiveStrong41's topic in Fitness & Exercise
CONGRATS!!! are still doing weight training and cardio, or only cardio since surgery? What are you eating (portion size and how often)? -
My weightloss stall very easily, and I notice that when I replace one meal with a liquid meal (protein shake, soup, or other) I can continue to lose weight. I know they have a bunch of shakes and whatnot, and since its pre-portioned I know Im eating the right amount (that's sometimes a problem area for me).

Hey everyone! I got banded on March 9. I've lost about 12-15 lbs so far (the scale keeps going up and down these 3 lbs). I'm going on my 1st cruise next month and I desperately need something to break this plateau and get the scale moving down again. I workout at least 3 days a week and I meet with my personal trainer often. I can see my body changing, and I'm losing inches, but the scale is really not moving at the pace that I desire ... All that being said - I'm on a mission to lose 10 lbs in the next 6 weeks, and/or HOPEFULLY fit into a cute all sequin dress for the captain's dinner on my cruise. So I'm gonna start the 5 day pouch plan tomorrow morning, starting with the 2 day liquid diet of low carb Protein shakes .... for the weeks that follow I plan to carefully watch (I dont want to use the word "limit") my bad carbs - potatoes, rice, bread, Pasta, sugar, etc - and try and stick to the 1 cup per meal rule (which I really havent even been monitoring over the past month or so). So .... I share this with you because I need something to actually hold me accountable. So I'm gonna post my progress (or lack thereof) on this thread for the duration of my 6 week journey. I just ask that you guys put me in my place when I post that I'm not sticking to the plan, and provide motivation, etc when I'm staying on track. Also, if I'm successful, maybe some of us out here can use this thread as a blueprint to break a plateau. I'll post stats (weight, measurements, exercise) in the thread, and I want some feedback from the seasoned bandsters out there since I'm only 5 month into my journey. Thanks for looking!

Bahamas Cruise In 6 Weeks, 5 Day Pouch Test
Sunshyne068 replied to Sunshyne068's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
How was the mindful eating class? I went on the ship and gained 7 lbs ... SMH. Nohting to do but eat and sleep and gamble LOL. I did go to the gym and I did a lot of walking and excursions and STILL gained 7 lbs. Good news is that 4 of those lbs are already gone this week so I'm back on track. Super awesome news is that I got into my sequin dress by the cruise, and I wore it to the captain's dinner!!! YAY!!!!! -
Should I See My Doctor?
Sunshyne068 replied to didixo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My sign of tightness is acid reflux that starts with only 1 bite of food. I've never thrown up with the band so I'm not sure. But I would say that if you throw up 3 times in 3 days, you should go back. -
if your stool is hard/dry that means you arent getting enough water. drink 3x as much as you drink now ... also I eat raw spinach and lettuce salads .... like 2 cups of salad mix a day and Im fine.

looks good. I may have to try these for the ones that are less than 200 calories.

Stuck At This Weight!
Sunshyne068 replied to dalia93's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Have you tried a liquid diet for 2 or 3 days? Do soups and protein shakes and nothing else for 2 or 3 days ... sometimes that helps to break the plateau.
