My sister is looking for a surgeon in Kerrville, Tx and does anyone know anything about Beech Street Insurance??

I had surgery on May 17th and I'm still trying to get used to all the twangs and pangs of my gut....not to mention I'm getting tired of the same ole foods!!! Any advice??? Anyone else having any issues???

I have been emotional as well, but I think for me its because I'm restricted on my activity and driving!!! Don't like being "tied down". And I still get so exhausted after 30 minutes of activity, like I get pale, feel like I'm going to vomit and pass out!! :-( Some of the foods and feelings while trying to get them down are definantly hard for me as well.....yesterday was an uncomfortable day as was earlier before my nap!! Forget me trying to get in my basic requirements....that has NOT been happening, even as much as I have tried!!! BTW I had my surgery at Bayshore Hospital in Houston, I am a RN in L&D at Clear Lake Hospital.....I am a mother to 4, Nana to 1-1/2....and have kept this a secret from the majority of my coworkers!!!

I had my surgery May 17th and told my 2 grown daughters, my husband and about 6 of my closest friends (4 of them being my coworkers)...I didn't tell my mom, dad, sister, Or in-laws cause I didn't want them to worry and I didn't tell the remaining 20+ coworkers or boss cause #1, its not their business and #2 cause I didn't want to hear any of the negative comments from them like they stated about my coworker that had it done 2 weeks before me!! I know they will know I had "something", but doesn't mean I have to confirm any of it!! For all they can assume, I had a hysterectomy and bladder suspension.....just happened to start dieting and exercising on my 5 weeks off of work!!! I'm sure eventually I will tell them, but gonna make them assume, beg and wonder about it for quite a while first!!! :-)

Good luck to those whose VGS is in the next few days....I'm going in at 0800am Thursday!! I am nervous, I am scared, I am excited, I am afraid of failure and of complications...I am a nurse, so maybe that's why I feel like this!! And lets just say, it's stinking hard staying on this pre-op diet....and yes I have cheated :~( Well, prayers sent, keep us posted!! KristiRN, Houston, Texas

I'm new to this site, but have a few questions.... 1. Who's the best doctor in the Houston area? Any recommendations? Likes, dislikes, etc.... 2. Whats the average cost without insurance? 3. Whats the recovery time? I'm a Labor & Delivery nurse....when can I go back to work? 4. How painful are the refills? 5. What foods do you eventually have to give up? 6. I'd like to lose 110 pounds....is that feasible with the Lap Band, or should I get another procedure done instead? 7. Tell me the do's & don't's, the likes & dislikes, the good, the bad & the ugly.....I want your most honest opinion about this procedure, the benefits/drawbacks in your life & would you do this again??? I am not banded yet, but that is my goal in the next few months!! I own a Suzuki Intruder 805, but have yet to take the class (time restraints), my husband owns & rides a Suzuki Boulevard 800....we'd love to go to Sturgis one year!! We live south of Houston, Texas!! Keep ya posted with updates on all the above!! :-)
