Travel. Not only travel, but in private planes. I love international travel but the inconvenience and discomfort of airline travel have ruined it for me. The Orient, eastern Europe, Australia, here I come. Oh wait, I guess I would have to play to win.

Surgery is the only way. Congratulations on having lost weight, though.

Cheating on Pre-op diet !
notime replied to darleenmr's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Perhaps you're right or perhaps you can overcome this. Many people have posted they slid off the pre-op diet. Get back up and go on it again. -
I would like to answer your question, but don't understand the circumstances. Are you throwing up after you eat? Do you get stomach pain after you eat? Does this happen every time you eat? Do you eat slowly? My guess is that you are eating too much, but as I said, I don't have a very good feel for your situation. If you are overeating, try slowing down your eating speed. Have a bite and wait a bit before having another one, paying attention to how you feel with each bite. You may feel full or get other signs that you have had enough. Some people burp or hiccup when full. Paying attention will help you figure out how much is enough for you.

A two week clear liquid diet really isnt that bad.

Thanks for this. There is no reason for us make a big deal over something that is such a short period of our lives. -
A question im sure a lot of people have asked..
notime replied to JanelB's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
If you are interested in topics that have been broached before and the responses to posts, it is possible to search. In the top right corner, just below your name, is a search box. Of course, its having been asked before doesn't mean you can't ask it again. -
Eggs-try scrambled first. You won't be able to eat a whole one, but try a bite.

Keep reminding yourself of the reasons for the surgery and that soon the pre-op diet will be a fading memory. It is such a short time in your life.

Band to Sleeve Now at a Plateau HELP
notime replied to Sonya Purdy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
lilmissdiva posted "The Basics Boot Camp" which might help you. It can be found in the Food and Nutrition forum in the section for pre-op and post-op diets. It will get you going again. -
I ate part of an egg on the seventh day, but you probably need just a little more time. Perhaps you should only eat one bite and see how that goes. If it doesn't stay in you, give it another day and try a bite of something else tomorrow. Have you been able to eat nonfat no sugar added yogurt or anything like that?

I suggest calling your doctor in the morning.

Do I count the calorie's & such if I can't keep it down?
notime replied to Mini Me Wanna~Be's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'd be more concerned about why I was throwing up. Is it an eating disorder, overeating, stomach virus or something else? Maybe I got off on the wrong track here, but thought I'd mention this. -
I quit Day 7, when I went to soft foods. The nutritionist said to be off the protein shakes by at least the six month point, but I did not like them.

Need recommendations for best protein shakes
notime replied to Murphy316's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You can search for "protein shakes" and will get tons of discussions of this. -
There really isn't anything to be prepared to answer. There don't seem to be any standard questions. Just be relaxed and honest.

You have an amazing and wonderful perspective on this. I hope the treatment and testing work out and that you will be able to have surgery. -
2 1/2 week post op indulge - crab
notime replied to krissi's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't know about your doctor, but mine had me on soft foods at one week. It doesn't sound as though the crab is a problem, because that is considered a soft food. If you were uncomfortable, maybe it was the amount of soup you ate. -
Carol is exactly right. When I plan, I am successful. When I don't, look out.

Definitely not a piece of cake- 1 month post-op
notime replied to ms.k's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You can do this. Don't be discouraged. As someone posted above, keeping close track of your actual protein and fluid intake is essential at this point. It does sound as though you are taking in more than you think. Also, you can get plenty of protein without the protein drinks. Try an egg in any form. That's seven grams of protein. Add a bit of cheese to it to up the count. Vegetarian (because some of the non vegetarian ones use lard) refried beans are an option. Add some cheese to that, too. The yogurt is great, eat it throughout the day. Make jello, adding some fruit flavored protein mix in with it. Good luck. Let us know how you do. -
Don't worry. Get in as much as you can. It is normal to have a problem getting all the fluids in at this point. Your job right now is to sip, sip, sip. You should be able to get it all in soon. Try warm broth, no sugar added fat-free yogurt, jello, sugar free popsicles. Work hard to get it all in but don't stress out over it.

The pills aren't banned forever. I take some whopping big ones myself. I don't recall at what point I was able to start taking them though.
