    Scared To Exercise

I am not afraid of exercise but I have never had the bad experience you have. What about exercising in a pool if you have one available? Our city recreation centers offer several exercise classes. I do deep Water aerobics and there is absolutely no strain on the feet or legs. What about floor exercises and a routine at a gym designed not to put stress on your feet or legs? My doctor has said the first months are the time when I can lose the most weight and after that the weight comes off harder and slower. Please try to find some activity that will work with your situation.

    Ice Cream

No! No! And don't put the idea inside my head : ) I'm trying to stay away from the foods that got me to where I needed the sleeve. I'm also trying to get away from the idea of food as a reward. It does sound good though.

    Almost Here...

I bet July 30th can't get here soon enough. Keep us updated. I'd really like to know how everything is going. Is the gallbladder problem related to the sleeve?

    Cant Stop Crying Any Help?

Has you doctor ordered bloodwork? I had the same problem you do and it turned out to be a thyroid problem. I think you and the doctor should look at everything to determine the problem.

    Why Are/were You Fat?

Thanks for sharing your story. I was slender, under 120 pounds until I reached forty. That was when the lack of exercise and huge appetite caught up with me. From then on, I put on weight fast. At 186 pounds, I had enough.Hello sleeve!

    Can I Have Decaf Coffee

My nutritionist said no more than one cup a day. She knew a couple of people who routinely drank a lot of coffee and they developed ulcers. Non-fat milk and no sugar. I used to use milk and sugar in my coffee, but gradually weaned myself from them. Now I can still enjoy milk, but sweetener tastes disgusting.
  7. What a wonderful story and it's clear you are very proud of your accomplishment. You should be. Good luck walking in the coming days. I hope there are many more for you.
  8. I was tired for a couple of weeks, but didn't think food planning was a big deal.
  9. Has your doctor cleared you for all types of activity/exercise?

    Almost Here...

I think I know why I have been having trouble losing the weight. Blood work that was done for my primary care physician showed an extremely low thyroid function. That might explain the weight situation and my constant tiredness. I see the pcp and my bariatric surgeon on Wednesday and I should have some answers. I want weight loss and energy.

    Almost Here...

Kellie, what's the latest? Did your test results help diagnose the problem?

    Full Feeling?

I'm three months out and have never had just a full feeling. Either I stop before I am full or I eat too much and am miserable. I go by quantity of food eaten rather than any feeling and eyeball the amount I should eat. I have learned to stop before I'm miserable, after I've eaten a very small portion.
  15. I took Pepcid right away. Maybe your doctor will prescribe that or the Prilosec Iliana says she took.

    Low Energy.

My doctor told me to stick to the walking and try to walk a little more each day even if it is only one house farther.
  17. Congratulations! So glad to hear about your health outcome.
  18. Most places offer a Soup appetizer, too. I usually order that and have them bring it out with others' meals.

    Ice Cream

On the Eggface site, you can "search" for recipes. I bought an ice cream maker and am getting ready to make her pistachio ice cream!
  20. Hang in there. It's perfectly normal.

    Question About Diet

I am three months post-op. My doctor required four nutrition classes--three before he would do the surgery and one at one month post-op. It sounds as though your's didn't offer/require any. One thing stressed during my classes was that this was a diet for life, not just until reaching goal weight. The following site may help answer your diet questions. http://www.mybrandnewlife.org/patient-stories-and-support/bariatric-dietitians-guide-to-successful-weight-loss/

    10 Months...

Congratulations on your weight loss and attitude. Have a wonderful time on your trip!
  23. Why don't you just fix your own food and/or keep track of the proteins, calories, carbs, etc. yourself? He is wonderful to support you, but if it causes you to be critical of him maybe you should take over now.

    Question

I ate some then with no resulting problems. My doctor only had me on full liquids for one week. That does not mean I think you should do it. As Star says, it is best to stick with your doctor's program.

    Vitamin D

My surgeon told me scads of people have Vitamin D deficiency, that it has become an increasing problem because people avoid the sun to avoid melanoma. I had it and he prescribed 50,000 mcg of Vitamin D daily.
