  1. myfitnesspal is a free website that is good for tracking how you are doing against your nutrition and exercise goals. It's really good for nutrition because it has the nutritional values for many, many foods built into the program, so you don't have to try to figure those out on your own.

    exercise motivation tips pretty please

I hired a personal trainer. That gives me definite days and times I must exercise. If I don't go, my instructor's income is affected, so I go. I have been doing this twice a week for over a year now and have only missed when I was traveling. Three other days I go to a deep water aerobics class. Who doesn't like the water? I have formed friendships with the other people in the class so I go. You can exercise, too. Find something you can do and give yourself reasons to do it.

    Liquid diet?

No, each doctor seems to have different instructions. I haven't noticed any posts about problems that seem to be related to the instructions given.
  4. Don't worry. Nothing will happen. A lemon seed is small. Your tummy will be fine.
  5. It was about four months for me. The worst is finding hair in the food. I started wearing a plastic shower cap when I was cooking.

    Not doing so well

I track my calories, protein, carbs and liquids on myfitnesspall.com. I was having trouble with eating the wrong things. Tracking on that site helped show me where the problems were and got me going in the right direction. I use it every day now and have begun losing again. The site has default goals for calories and other components of the diet. Just change those goals to the ones your doctor gave you and you are on your way.

    AG Pro for hair growth

My doctor said there is nothing that will help with hair regrowth but that there are a lot of marketers willing to tell you there is. My suggestion is to save your money. The hair loss doesn't last forever.
  8. unbesleevable is right. Check with your surgeon. I had no puree stage and went from liquids to soft foods at the one week point. I had no vomiting or other difficulties either. Whenever you move to the next stage, just eat small bites, chew well and don't have much at any one meal. You will be fine.
  9. My recovery was textbook. No problems whatsoever. I was uncomfortable getting into and out of bed each day, definitely uncomfortable not in pain. I was tired and it took a couple of weeks to get my energy back. That's it. Good luck. it really is amazing how easy it can all be when things go well.
  10. Pros: I eat less, lost lots of weight, can do stuff I hadn't been able to do in years, have bloodwork that is in the perfect range, have less stress on my joints, spend less time at various medical appointments, etc. etc. Cons: I eat less and spent money getting a new wardrobe. No other cons for me.

    Sleeping

I slept in my bed from night one, on my side with a pillow under my stomach to support it. That kept the stitches from pulling.
  12. Ketosis is the result of the high protein, low carb diet that is necessary for us.

    Referral

I don't know, but it wouldn't hurt to make sure your pcp has all your test results before you go in to see him/her.
  15. It's because that is what you need to lose weight. It is easy to "eat around" the sleeve, filling up the stomach with lots of meals and snacks throughout the day. It is also easy to frequently eat foods that are high fat and/or high carb and foods that have not enough nutritional value. Counting calories keeps me aware of what I'm eating and what it means to my diet. I'm supposed to eat around 800 calories and consisting of 60 grams of protein, less than 90 grams of carbohydrates and 22 grams of fat.

    So discouraged

If you want to know that you aren't alone, that your situation is typical, search for "stall" in the search box near the upper right corner. There are a zillion posts about stalls such as yours and they offer all manner of support, encouragement and suggestions for breaking stalls. Good luck. You're doing fine.

    What am I doing Wrong?

Are you counting calories and staying away from the carbs?

    Diet Soda

My nutritionist said that, while flat sodas (stirred to get the bubbles out) are technically safe, they have no nutritional value and are, therefore, not approved.

    Newbie Question on liquids!

I was able to take in all my fluids without problem within four days and take gulps of fluids within three weeks. I was on clear fluids for my two days in the hospital, full liquids for the next five days and, by the one week point, I was cleared for soft foods. There's a huge range of recovery times and experiences and it is impossible to know what yours will be.

    week 3-nausea

Maybe you need to delay the pureed stage and try it again in a few days. It seems that as long as you are getting your protein and liquids you would be okay. I assume you have been in touch with your doctor and nutritionist? Perhaps the doctor can prescribe something and/or the nutritionist can help with some additional eating options and approaches.
  21. I was put on full liquids upon leaving the hospital after two nights and was put on soft foods (purees) after one week. My diet was similar to Jessica's but I was allowed to eat eggs cooked any way I wanted them without having to puree them.

    Fluids

Besides doing cold fluids such as water with ice and the slushees, try switching it up in terms of texture and temperature, for example, jello and warm fluids such as broth. There are so many differences in the instructions given by the various doctors regarding diet. I only spent 7 days on fluids and the protein shakes counted as fluids. Oh well, you will soon be on regular foods. Hang in there.
  24. The insurance company notified the insurance coordinator at my surgeon's office. The coordinator then contacted me. Within three weeks, I was sleeved. Good luck with the insurance company.

    Made it

I had no problem with showers. I'm not sure why they would be painful.
