Always Something, Never Nothing...
notime replied to UTGal99's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't consider you stupid and assume you are asking a legitimate question. Sometimes there is nothing that will make up for the advice of the bariatric physician. My response was meant to be serious. My bariatric doctor's nurse takes all questions and passes those she can't answer on to the physician. If my pcp gave me that response, I would call my bariatric surgeon who would know what he is looking for. Sometimes "call your doctor" is the best advice you or I can get. -

Ask your doctor. -
I go with plain Fage yogurt. It tastes like sour cream and is so good going down.

I didn't tell my mother until several weeks after the surgery. It was not her decision to make.
-
Thank you. It will make a good reference document.

How Do You Push The 1% Of What Can Go Wrong Out Of Your Head
notime replied to smitten4glitter's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
About a week before surgery, I went into panic mode, mostly facing the fact that I was doing something that would require a total change in my life. I reminded myself of the reasons for the surgery and the concommitant changes it would bring about. Without the weight loss, I was looking at a decreased and decreasing quality of life and likely earlier death. In short, I realized I had no good alternative. Looking at it that way, I was willing to take the chance of the unlikely possibility of serious, long-lasting, negative consequences. In short, keep your eyes on the goal of good health and improved quality of life. -
I went on vacation for five days and lost five pounds. That, after a two month stall.
-
I do, too.
-
Congratulations on the weight loss.
-
What a terrible experience you've been having. Hope all goes well from now on.

Hiatal Hernia And Vsg At The Same Time
notime replied to njbrittany's topic in Insurance & Financing
Apparently no one can answer your question directly. Have you tried talking to the insurance specialists at several bariatric surgeons' offices? They ought to be able to answer the question. Give it a go. If you have already tried this, I am sorry I have no other ideas. -
Hiatal Hernia And Vsg At The Same Time
notime replied to njbrittany's topic in Insurance & Financing
Not according to my doctor. He said most sleevers also have hiatal hernias and they are fixed at the time of sleeve surgery. I had one repaired when I was being sleeved and my recovery was short and uneventful. -

Your life won't ever be the same, it will be better. -
You should be jittery because it is a big commitment. On the other hand, what other options are there for drastically improving health and quality of life? I am three months out and have never regretted my decision.
-
Congratulations. You are experiencing one part of how the sleeve helps us lose weight.

1St Timer.... Clueless And Forced By Friend
notime replied to traulena2's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Good going, Raulena. Welcome. Welcome to you, too, Hyacinth. -
I don't like sweets either. These were approved by my doctor for the liquid diet: plain Greek yogurt and sugar free pudding with protein powder in it. There were a bunch of others, but I can't remember them. Sorry.

40 Hours Til Surgery And I Am So Scared I Am Making The Wrong Decision
notime replied to TiredOfChubRub's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Think of the reasons you need to have the surgery: health, a longer life, better quality of life. I did that and realized I had no options. -
Burning Pain Left Of Velly Button
notime replied to pattivalvo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't know if this is serious or not and the best anyone else can do is give an opinion. Call your doctor for the answer.
