I agree with the others. Foods that you don't have to puree are the answer to the blender and money problems. These include: eggs fixed any way you want; yogurt (I love plain Greek yogurt and it has lots of protein.); cottage cheese; ricotta cheese; refried beans; oatmeal and cream of wheat thinned with skim milk; mashed sweet potatoes; canned salmon, tuna or chicken mixed with lowfat mayo; steamed fish, crab or scallops; lentil or split pea soup; and tofu.

Sorry to hear about your setback. Let us know what your doctor says and prescribes. I am curious as to what medicines are safe for the sleeve. My surgeon said to take Tylenol Sinus for sinus problems, but I think there must be safe alternatives.

Congratulations on your weight loss. What super results!

I dropped to 199 today. Still losing, but not as fast as I would like and certainly not as fast as many others. I suppose I should only look at my own weight and be glad the trend is downward. Guess I'm a turtle.

Kellie, how were your surgery and recovery?

I'm glad you're glad. I hope there are no more blood clots.

Congratulations on your progress.

V-8 Juice On Full Liquid Diet?
notime replied to SleeveShelly's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I drank it on full liquids and still do, but I am going with the low salt version. My doctor approved it. V-8 has 12 grams of sugar, 70 calories, three grams of protein and counts as 12 oz of liquids. You can also buy it in a smaller can. I use it to augment my vegetable intake. I am not necessarily advocating it for you as each doctor seems to have different rules. Perhaps you would want to check with your nutritionist. -
Congratulations on a complication-free surgery and on your weight loss. Twenty-seven pounds in nine days is spectacular. What are you doing to achieve that?
-
According to my nutritionist, five cups of fluids a day is not enough. Water isn't the only fluid, try yogurt, cottage cheese, some soups, and anything else that has a fluid consistency. My current favorite is low salt V-8 joice. Some fluids also have proteins, some even have a lot of proteins. I agree with the comments above about ways to improve your diet.

Good luck with your job, insurance and sleeve. I know it's a difficult blow, but it will change.

It's great that you have been able to control these cravings. I was a carboholic in the "old days" and know how easy it is to succumb, but you are losing weight despite the cravings. I admire you. Keep hanging in there.

The Last Few Hours Of The Countdown !

The anticipation can be terrible; a lot more than the surgery warrants. All will be well and keep thinking about how much healthier you are going to be. -
Watering Down Protein?
notime replied to SkinnyMinnie2Be's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Mixing the Isopure with the water gives you 40 oz of fluids. It gives you only as much protein as the original 20 oz of Isopure does. -

What about a jumper type dress? It won't have a waist and will be easier on your tummy. -
Don't Eat Fish...help!

eggs, eggs, eggs! -
I hope it all works out for you. You have my thoughts. Please keep us informed.

Four and a half months out and I have to say I don't miss anything yet. Sometimes I wish I could have more of what I'm eating, but remind myself of the goals and that it's not possible to go back anyway! I'm sure I will miss some things at some point, but so far so good.

Pre Op Visit With Surgeon!

Congratulations! -
Because you are one day out, it doesn't seem the hiccups would come from being full. Are you in the hospital? If so, can you ask about it there?

Damned If I Do Damned If I Don't.

I weaned myself from sweet tea some years ago. It took a while to get used to the flavor of just the tea, but now I like it that way. Probably not something you would consider, but thought I would put it on the table anyway. -
"this sucks," yes, it does. Hopefully, the problems will be resolved quickly and you can move on to your sleeve surgery. Please keep us informed as you move through the process. We care.

Anyone Not Have An Issue With Hair Loss?
notime replied to Raven21's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It's true. My hair loss is unimportant to me. Losing weight is. I have never regretted my decision to get the sleeve. For those who are concerned about hair loss, keep in mind it is temporary. -
Anyone Not Have An Issue With Hair Loss?
notime replied to Raven21's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I've lost a lot of hair but it is spaced fairly evenly around my head so there are no bald Patches. It is so bad that my husband has taken over all cooking duties because hair was falling into the food all of the time. I had to tell my hair dresser about the surgery because she was so alarmed at how much hair there was in the brush and comb. As much hair as I have lost, it is not apparent to others.
