Shhhhhh.....its A Secret!
notime replied to ProudGrammy's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
How wonderful! You are amazing. -
I can't wait until things return to normal for you either. My thoughts are with you and the others affected by the storm. You are really facing temptation! In addition to the lack of food choices, you have a lot of stress. I empathize with you.
-
I don't go in for fast food, but sometimes it is all there is. Wendy's has tasty chili that isn't too bad nutritionally.
-
Please call your doctor.
-
I'm glad you went to the doctor and got the help you needed. Are you doing well now?
-
Congratulations on your weight loss. What an achievement!
-
I've been going crazy over shrimp, too.

Scared Straight! New Dad/husband, Thinking About Vgs- Please Help!
notime replied to rxkid2384's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
What the other posters have said. Welcome and please bring your questions to the site (and your doctor, of course). It is very normal to have some fear along the way to surgery but being able to express that fear and get answers to your questions helps a lot.. -
Don't be worried; it will all fall into place. Did your nutritionist go over the vitamins, quantities and forms (gummy, pill, chewable, under-tongue, etc.) you need? Get those and one or more pill cases now. The pill cases are cheap and will allow you to line up in advance the pills and vitamins you will need. Keep all your pills and vitamins in one place. I use a kitchen cabinet and put them on a tray so that taking them all out to refill the pill cases is easy.It won't take long before getting the right pills and vitamins in the cases is an easy routine.

Try some others. The pre-op diet phase is miniscule in relation to the rest of your life. You will get through it.

Barium Test- How Did Your Stomach Feel
notime replied to Lollyx3's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't remember what I felt but I do remember throwing up everywhere. No one else has mentioned this, so I must have been an anomaly. -
I didn't do protein shakes once I could eat real food. All of my protein came from the real food. I made jello with fruit flavored protein--Jay Robb Pina Colada protein goes great with lime, orange or raspberry jello--but a lot of the protein came from eggs, which I ate every day in one form or another; plain Greek yogurt, Fage, which tastes like sour cream; nonfat cheese; various meats; nonfat refried beans; and the like.

You can do this. Two weeks is a very short time in the course of your life. I'm not saying it isn't hard for you, just that looking beyond the few days you have left might help you get through it.

Scared After Pre Op Appointment
notime replied to cosmogirl70's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Balancing out the risks of surgery are the risks of not having the surgery. I don't know the numbers, but I'm sure more than one in one thousand die early because of complications of the excess weight. Just another factor in the decision.. -
Welcome to the site. Don't worry too much about any of that. You have your reasons for the surgery worked out, the doctor will tell you at your first appointment whether you are likely to be a good candidate and, if so, just follow the plan from there on. I don't have any health education or experience, but can tell you that my health issues are similar to yours including the frequent vomiting, yet my doctor had no concerns about any of it. I can't help you with your worries about the risks of surgery, but can tell you we all worried about it at some point before our surgeries so you are not alone. Talk to your doctor about his/her complication and mortality rates. Keep us informed as you go through the process.

My Suggestion-Stop The Obsessing. Rules Are Meant To Be Broken
notime replied to NJSleeveboy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Can't take reasonable discourse without going ballistic? That last paragraph is exactly what you meant it to be--absurd. And, in my opinion, it is disrespectful of pdxman. -
Changing Protein Drinks
notime replied to gettinMeBack's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Variety is excellent. It is the spice of life. -
I chose the sleeve because it is not as severe as RNY, yet can yield the same results over time. I like the fact that nothing inside me changed except the size of my stomach. RNY, with its rerouting of innards ruled it out for me.

This is really difficult for you. It sounds as though the surgery became the goal, when, in fact, it is only one step along the path that never ends. Are you exercising? That may improve your mood.
-
Please call your doctor. I'm not implying you have a serious problem, but not one of us can tell you for sure what is wrong. You need to get to someone who can.

Please call your doctor. That's the only way to find out what is happening.

4 Days Until Surgery & I'm Weirding Out!
notime replied to GeauxForIt's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Could it be your pre-op diet? The diet is quite a change for out bodies. I kept reminding myself of my reasons for choosing to have the surgery--various health and quality of life factors. That settled me down. -
