  1. I was on liquids for one week, soft foods after that.
  2. I know you want to cry. I know exactly how you feel. Go to Mexico if you must, but, speaking from my own experience, six months goes by in a flash. If you are interested, check with the surgeon's office about how many pounds you can lose and still stay above the required bmi. I don't mean to sound pushy, just want you to know the other option is doable, too. Keep us informed. You are not alone.

    Worries

Although it seems daunting before and shortly after your surgery, it doesn't take long to figure it all out and find that it is easy. Before surgery we tend to obsess about it but all of these things fall into place. Also, I had no gas pains and any other pain was controlled with medication in the hospital. Once home, I required no pain medication. Not all have the same experience, but many do.

Welcome. My nutritionist specifies multivitamins, B-12, iron and calcium. Some others have gotten different direction from their nutritionists. I have looked for a list specifying what should be in the multiple vitamin, but have not found one.
  5. Start the 6 month diet with monthly checkups with your primary care physician now. In six months, you will have met the requirement and will be on your way to being sleeved. If you don't do this, another six months will have passed and you will be no closer to your goal of being sleeved. Yes, you can self-pay, but that involves trade-offs, too. You are depressed and I have been, too. You can do this.

    Edema

Rest several times a day for about 20 minutes with your feet higher than your heart.
  7. Call your surgeon. You don't know it's low blood sugar for sure and, even if it is, you don't know how he/she would want you to treat it.

    Mental VS physical

There was that one moment the day I got home when I said to myself, "There is no turning back. This is forever." It wasn't a feeling of regret, more like resignation and then acceptance.
  10. My doctor allows eggs; canned tuna and salmon; low fat, no sugar added yogurt; low fat cottage cheese; lowfat refried beans and more on the pureed stage diet. Did your nutritionist give you a list of items you could eat?

    pain under right rib

Please call your surgeon. I don't have any medical training or information that leads me to believe it is something important, but it would seem that the surgeon should be notified when something occurs suddenly after surgery. Also, the doctor's holiday schedule is likely to be limited and you want him/her to be able to fit you in if he/she deems it important to do so.

I'm glad you're doing better and are home. Take care.
  16. Sorry you are going through this. How is your fluid intake?

    Eating to much?

Increasing the amount of fluids you are taking in will probably help with the constipation. My nutritionist specifies at least 64 oz. Also, there are some recent threads that discuss constipation. Try searching for them. You may get some good ideas.

You have an amazingly good attitude about all of this. I admire your spirit. Hopefully they'll get it sorted out tomorrow and soon you will be back home snug in your own bed with your family.

    Help!

I'm really sorry about your problems. My only advice is to see your surgeon or primary care physician to discuss this. Might as well get the facts so you don't have to be in a panic and can make an informed decision about the surgery.
