    8 Days Post-Op

Wow your Dr. let you have eggs 8 days out?! Lucky you I would kill for an egg. I have to wait until week 3. We all have to get adjusted to our new stomachs and its new signals. I dont get a "full" feeling either. For me I can sorta feel it come up in my chest area. Everyone is different!

    8 Days Post-Op

Ha! My suitemate that had the sleeve the day as me drank a whole cup of broth in 10 minutes 2 days post op. I was amazed. Now Im worried because Im 8 days post op and ate my entire Jello cup in one sitting!
  4. I had just watched a youtube vid of someone with the same problem of constant hunger (LadyKanKan I believe is her username) She was taking antiacid in the AM as well. She asked her doc about it and he advised to take antiacid in the AM and in the PM. She said the next day her hunger feelings were gone. Maybe you should inquire w/ ur doc if two doses are advised. Good Luck!
  5. Im only on week 2 but the hunger im experiencing is all in my head im sure. Meat and chocolate and cake O My! Like others have said Jello really seems to hit the spot. Ive heard alot of post sleevers say they experience hunger but its due to the acids bubbling around in your newly empty stomach. Do you take an anti acid daily? Try it
  6. I drove 4 days post op but i didnt have any pain and didnt take any pain meds
  7. I was advised to swallow my antibodies 1 day post op. They are the plastic capsule kind that you can twist open and are filled with powder. I have no clue how Im supposed to get it down or how my stomach is supposed to break down the plastic???? Not chancing it though. I break it open and pour the powder in some juice. Nasty but better safe than sorry
  8. The time is finally here! I have just arrived to the Marriott hotel to be sleeve by Dr. Garcia tomorrow. I landed in San Diego and the driver called me as soon as I got off of the plane. He was very friendly and nice to talk to on the drive overe the boarder. The drive over the boarder to Tijuana was really quick, I was expecting a long drive for some reason. When we pulled up to the Marriott I was met by the bell hops with a proper greeting who opened my door and handled my bags. Very V.I.P which was nice. The hotel is very nice and very clean. As someone pointed out on here the beds are kind of hard but I guess thats a regional preferene? Either way still nice. There is strip mall right down the street and another larger mall 5 walking minutes away. Not sure If Ill go Dora the Explorer in Tijuana but who knows since Ill be here alone for 6 days. I might go sit out by pool for a minute.... will keep you all updated

Also I have a link where you can stream any movie you want (even those that in the movie theaters now for free!) from Mexico for those of you bringing your laptop!

I highly recommend him! I told my coordinator that I wanted to speak with him before I made an final decisions and he took time out of his busy schedule to call me 2 days later. I was very surprised!

    Here In Tijuana!

Im alive! lol. Spent the first night mostly sleeping. I thank my lucky stars I didnt have it bad! No gas pains at all (wow), no chest pain, no incision pain, only nausea the first night on and off. The only sensation is kinda like your stomach is tight. The drain does get anoying but it doesnt hurt. Something I wasnt aware of was the mucus. You will be clearing your throat and spitting up flem like you do when you get a cold in the winter time. All of the patients here are but its not that extreme. Dr.Garcia and staff rocks! He comes to speak to you b4 surgery and advises you to walk etc. I told him if he did a good job Id dance! He came up to me after the surgery and asked if I had danced yet and I told him all night long and we had a good laugh. They dilute the leak test solution with a whole cup of water but its still nasty. Cant imagine it straight. The Nurses come check on you every couple of hours and are very attentive. You will get to know others on your floor who have the sleeve as well. Everyone here is very nice. I hope you all have a noneventful surgery as well! And this coming from a crybaby who went to get sleeved by herself. If I can do it so can you all!

    Here In Tijuana!

Yes its here today is D-Day. Getting ready to go to hospital. All prayers are welcome! Will update later
  14. Im going to Dr. Garcia in 4 days as well! I was also worried about telling my nosy boss so I skipped her and went straight to H.R. They asked what was wrong with me and I just kept on talking over him. Think that got the point across. Now your nosy coworkers are another story....
  15. I have been absolutely sold on the sleeve and have just given my employer of 2 years notice of my 2 weeks need for medical leave. My H.R. mgr even said "It should be no problem, its not like you plan on leaving us anytime soon." Well about an hour later I got a phone call from my dream job offering me an interview for their office in Manhattan. The job pays 15k more than what I make now. I forgot I even applied. I was advised there are 3 positions open and 3 people are coming in for the interview.......sounds like it might be in the bag. Not sure how to handle the situation if I do land the position. Is there any professional way to go on sick leave for 2 weeks and come back and quit? Does it sound unprofessional to ask for 4 week notice (2 sick + 2 for current job)? Advice please
  16. March 13th here too! yeaaaaaa. Starting my pre op diet today. Ive successfully went on a starvation diet before (and gained it all back) so I should be able to get through.

    Pre-Op Liquid Diet...

Its my first day of the preop diet and I too am told to drink protein shakes all day and am allowed a small lean dinner. I hate milk as well but found that I am able to tolerate peanut butter flavor shakes only made with mostly ice. I recommend muscle maker grill if anyone is in the northeast area! Everytime I try to make my own its disgusting so Ill just pay the money
