Kellysue, The lapband website is basically an advertisement to sell the band. Don't get me wrong I love my band but my doctor told me going in to this, I had to be willing to make life style changes. The band is only a tool. You have to make the decision not to overeat. There are many patients who have stretched their pouch because they didn't want to be on a "diet".

I'm also type 2. I have been banded 6 1/2 month & have had low blood sugar several times, mainly at night. I normally have 2 oz of oj and I'm fine.

Hi, I am from Memphis & also had problems getting my PCP on board. He out right refused to write the letter, so I had my GYN to write my letter. I was also self pay, so I don't know if that makes a difference.

Need Your Advice To Figure This Out...

I think it is unfair to say people don't have a clue in regards to their own bodies. We must keep in mind that what works for one person may or may not work for the next. The great thing about this site is you can get multiple oppinions on a topic based on that person's individual experience, then decide what works best for you. -
I also take biotin 5000mcg as well as silica tablets. You can get them online from Puritan's Pride.

Yolie, you are in my prayers. It really is a simple surgery, and like Corianna the 8th is my birthday also. So nothing bad could possibly happen. -
I'm hungery for 2-3 hours after each meal. When hunger does strike I feel as if I'm playing the waiting game until the next meal. Its a horrible feeling. P.S. Thanks to everyone who responded to my original post, your support really helps.

My post op diet consisted of liquids for the 1st 2 wks, pureed foods the next 2 wks, and finally soft foods such as eggs and deli shaved turkey the last 2 wks. I was limited to 1/2 cup of food per meal. When I got my iband it was empty. My surgeon said I didn't need an adjustment, that I need to get more comfortable with solid food first.
