Gall Bladder Removal And Band Installed...
running_scared replied to sharonk's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I battled with diarrhea for a few years after having my gallbladder out. Fibre seems to help. -
Banded In Aug And Im A Little Nervous
running_scared replied to bonnielynn07's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded 3 months ago, and I also wish I would have done it sooner. I've lost about 13 pounds since surgery, but I think it took a long time for the weight I lost before surgery, to show on my body, so in the last month, all of a sudden more of my clothes are too big. I can't wait until I'm down another 40 more! Good luck next month. -
Surgeon Doesn't To Want To Accept My Insurance
running_scared replied to fire_bellydancer's topic in Insurance & Financing
Im in Canada, so our insurance is slightly different, but I am always able (and I have to in most situations) pay upfront and wait to be reimbursed. It's not such a bad thing, and when it's only $150, I would do that. It sucks though, going to the dentist, and paying $600 and waitin for that to come back! -
I would be more concerned about being too tight, or having a slip, with the symptoms you mentioned.

Hmm. I wonder if that would work with powdered peanut butter (PB2)?

That sounds kind of like the tofu chocolate mousse desert, but lower in calories: http://www.eatcleandiet.com/food_and_recipes/clean_recipe/tofu_chocolate_mousse.aspx

I understand bandster hell is the time after surgery, before you get to the green zone. -
Lap Band Hell & Under The Microscope!!
running_scared replied to Chamie's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Sounds like you have one of the older, discontinued bands. Where did you have surgery? -

Losing Clothing Sizes Makes For One Happy Girl!
running_scared replied to mommykristie's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Congratulations! I've also been dropping clothing sizes lately, and I've found it nice to be able to 'shop' in my own closet again. -
I have dumping with greasy foods, but that's from having IBS, not the band.
-
Congratulations!! Woohoo! I am finally in the 270's again. I haven't been here in 5 years.

Stage 4 Ideas?

I really enjoyed eating hummus, and other soft fibre-rich bean things, like split-pea soup. -
New Here- 4.5 Years Banded....no Support For 3.5 Years. Lots Of ?'s
running_scared replied to Iava's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Most people don't have complications like this. Just as with everything else, the people with problems talk, while everyone who aren't, don't speak up. -
New Here- 4.5 Years Banded....no Support For 3.5 Years. Lots Of ?'s
running_scared replied to Iava's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm sorry, but insurance or not, I would have gone to a doctor sometime in the last 4 years, if I was vomiting up to 10 times a day. Were you actually vomiting, or just productive burping (where food comes back up, but without retching)? -
Band Slip Question...
running_scared replied to Amanda61082's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'd try liquids for a few days, and see if things settle down. If not, I'd make an appointment with your surgeon, and be honest about what happened, and what is going on. We all eat too much sometimes, that's why we are here -
I don't know what my biggest NSV is, but this week, I noticed that I have collar bones again

The port is sutured to the outside of your abdominal wall. The tubing is trimmed to reach. I've never heard of the tubing interfering with other organs. Good luck on Wednesday!

Size Goal Instead Off Weight.
running_scared replied to stokesmommy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I haven't weighed less than 200 pounds since I was about 14, so I don't have a weight goal really, because I have no idea what would be a realistic, maintainable weight for me. I just want to be able to shop at regular stores. -
In Case Of Emergency ..fill Band
running_scared replied to bigenuff's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
You probably haven't stretched anything, you've just healed from surgery, and the swelling has gone down. And, as you lose weight, the fat pad around the stomach shrinks, and the band gets looser. I bet a small fill would put you back to where you were before, restriction-wise. Also, as someone who has been getting fills as recommended by my doctor, I find the term 'fill addict' slightly offensive.
