  1. Having the surgeon that put it in, do the fills, has the added benefit of them knowing where the port should be.

How Do You Get In 1000 Calories

I eat breakfast at 7am, then a mid-morning snack around 10:30, with lunch at 12:30. I have a snack at around 4, then dinner at 6:30 or so.

    Hair Loss :(

I also got the advice to take biotin from some posters here, and the hairloss seems to be back to a normal level.
  4. My first and second fills were like that, unfortunately. The last one was super easy though. As you lose weight, it will get easier, because the fat covering the abdominal muscles and port will shrink, and the port will be easier to find.
  5. I wouldn't recommend travelling to Mexico for surgery. There are only a few doctors that will treat patients who had surgery in Mexico, and I don't think you want to be continually flying back and forth for fills.

Getting Fills And Going To School

Good luck Erin! I'm also going to be moving a 8 hour drive away from my surgeon, and I called this morning for a recommendation on a new fills person closer to where I'll be.

Getting Fills And Going To School

What about asking your current doctor for a recommendation for someone closer to where you'll be?

    Slipped Band... Will Mexico Reposition?

I'd get your surgeon at home to do it. I wouldn't go to Mexico for surgery myself.
  10. What about getting smaller fills, more frequently? I get 0.2ccs at a time now.

    Taking Big Bites

I'm 3 months post op, and I still take large bites, and chew a lot. It is something that you might have some time to learn.

I am so sorry to hear about the problem's you've had. I hope the infection heals, and you can have your surgery at Christmas.

Anyone Flown To And From Tj Alone?

Do you have aftercare organized at home? Do you have a local doctor who will do your fills? Many surgeons won't do fills for people who had the band put in in Mexico.

    Misinformed

I did scads of research before surgery, but I think my surgery clinic would really do the lapband on anyone who showed up with the $17,000.

    Sigh, So Little Restriction

I get fills every 2 to 3 weeks, but my fills are only 0.2cc's at a time. The largest fill I had was 0.8ccs, and it made it hard to burp for a few days.

    Hey All...need Some Advice.

I'm with Honk. You should aim to eat between 1/2 and a cup of food at a meal. 1/2 a cup is 8 tablespoons, just for reference. And good job on the loss! I'd say you have good restriction now, and maybe don't need another fill just yet, but see what your doctor says.

    Help First Fill Tomorrow

I eat breakfast as normal for mine, and then have a protein shake instead of lunch. All of my fills are in the afternoon.

    Help?!?? Weird Pains Suddenly...

Whenever you can't get anything down, I think you are supposed to seek medical attention immediately, so either call the on-call number for your surgeon, or head to the hospital.
