Just When You Think You've Got The Band All Figured Out......
running_scared replied to ♕ajtexas♕'s topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
You said that you had a fill of 0.02cc, which is 2/10 of a 10th. I get 0.2cc fills, which is 2/10th of a cc. There are markers for the 10th of a cc (0.1cc) but I don't think it would be possible to get less than 0.1cc or so accurately. I was trying to ask if you'd possibly made a typo of 0.02cc and meant 0.2cc. -
Fill / Unfill Of Less Than .5 Cc's?

I get 0.2cc fills now, and I do notice a slight difference with each. -
A company called 1800 get thin does multiple procedures? What kind of things were you getting done through them? You mention an ob/gyn... Did you find them through 1800 get thin as well? Why would a weight loss company have ob/gyns?

I've never heard that tip. I've never really been stuck though, only the odd time where I can really feel the food going down, and it hurts, but it's usually over after 20 seconds.

Well, at least the good news is that the drugs you'll get after surgery will hopefully make you forget all about the pulled muscle! Good luck Wednesday

And there's a class action lawsuit as well now. http://www.1800getthinclassaction.com/

And the FDA as well as Allergan are concerned about their patient education, and their claims in the ads...

What Does Your Doctor Expect?
running_scared replied to ontherighttrack's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My doctor likes to see the 1-2 pounds a week as well. -
How did she know you stretched you pouch? Did she do a fluoroscopic study, or is she just guessing? The food doesn't usually stay in the pouch for longer than 45 seconds, so unless you are aren't chewing, or are eating very fast, or a lot (like 2+ cups at a sitting) you can't really stretch the pouch.

That's wonderful. However, I would hardly call losing a pound a week, being in a slump.

What Elcee says. That sounds similar to the pain I had with my gallbladder, but I'd go get it checked out.

Switching To Kaiser After Being Banded
running_scared replied to RobinGirl's topic in Insurance & Financing
I would ask the plan administrator, and then give the insurance company a call, and ask. -
Well, sometimes people can get so thirsty that you think you are hungry. So, I try drinking a glass of water first, if I'm not sure if I'm really hungry.

How did they measure 0.02ccs? -
I'd try calorie cycling as well. Good luck!

Blueberry Cottage Cheese Muffins

Hmm. I wonder if the texture is weird, and might be improved by blending the cottage cheese? -
I saw that in the doctor's office a while ago. It is good!

How Do You Get In 1000 Calories
running_scared replied to Threetimesacharm's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Aren't we supposed to have 3 or 4 oz of protein at a meal? -
If I were you, I'd insist on having it completely unfilled.

Connection W/ Past And Weight Problems?
running_scared replied to meyouus's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I ate, because it was the only way I felt I could have control. I snuck food, because my morbidly obese Mom limited what I could have. I just wanted to show her that she didn't control me. Boy, did I show her. She died of complications from obesity almost 5 years ago. She said terrible, awful things to me my whole life, and I used food as a way to not have to think and feel that pain. I know that the pain from her will never go away, but I've been working on it, and working on my relationship with food as well. Food does not equal love, and that's something I am working on truly knowing.
