    April Bandsters!

The dry mouth gets better after the first day. Try sucking on some ice chips, I found that it helped a bit.
  2. I had my band installed last week in Vancouver by SWLC out of toronto. The cost was $17,000.

I was in a lot of pain, and after maxing out on the codeine, the clinic recommended that I go to the hospital for assessment. The doctor there said that I was being given enough to help a 100 pound person, not an adult. I don't even have to take 1/3 of the recommended morphine dose to be completely pain free.

Is it time for a fill maybe?

I was originally given liquid codeine, but I'm now on liquid morphine after a trip to emergency yesterday. And liquid gravol and tylonol.

    Information Overload

I think these forums are like everything else; the people who are having problems are the 'loudest'. There are hundreds if not thousands of happy people with bands, but they don't post as often.

    Busted A Stitch

Then I wouldn't worry about it too much, just don't do it again.

    Are you in pain?

    April Bandsters!

So I am at the airport, waiting to fly home. The security people had no compassion and made me walk through the scanner 3 times, because they were threatening to pat me down over my stomach, despite us telling them repeatedly that I'd just had abdominal surgery. I offered to lift my shirt if they took me somewhere private, but they wouldn't. I was crying by the end of it, while many onlookers stared at me. Talk about embarrassing.

That seems like a lot of driving. Do you have someone who can do some of that for you? Or maybe you can skip some of the activities for the first few days? I drive a lot for work (like 10 hours a day some days) and I am taking a month off.

Man, you are walking a lot! I've done is 5 loops around the floor in my hotel in my Jammie's. I'm having some watered down apple juice, and the broth from some chicken noodle cup-o-soup. Might have some lemon jello later. All I get for pain is liquid codene and liquid tylenol. No Vicodin here

I had my gallbladder out 5 years ago, and this is much less painful. I was on Percocet and strong medications for a few days. Im less than 24 hours out, and im comfortable with just childrens Tylenol and codene. Oh and I can walk a few laps around my hotel floor easily. It's not too bad, you'll do great

I was also banded yesterday. I'm comfortable when awake, but sleeping is hard.

I would count any non cafinated things toward the liquid.

I am done and resting at the hotel. I dont feel too bad, but I'm taking the meds on schedule. I did a lap around my hotel floor, and it seemed to help.

My info says 3 weeks post op, but I've been told that as long as I am healed well, I can swim.

I'm glad to hear that things are better for you now Rae.

    April Bandsters!

So I go in in about 5 hours. I'm a little nervous, but mostly just want to get it over with, and healed as fast as possible. We are going to Hawaii for 10 days, 2.5 weeks from now, and I want to be well enough to shop and swim.

They weighed me, and measured me with my shoes on! Surgery at 11:15 tomorrow!

I am sitting in the waiting room, and I'll be seeing the anesthesiologist in half an hour, and I'll find out if I am good to go for surgery. I am 2 pounds below the cut off for my real height, and like 13 under for the height the surgeon put down for me. Hopefully their scale is kind

    Bad Cramping :(

Looks good can be deceiving. Mine looked good, until they lifted it up, and saw all the scaring. And it was filled with 1/4 inch stones.

    Bad Cramping :(

    Could it be your gallbladder?

    April Bandsters!

Yep, my doctor said the same thing. Puke once, leave it alone; have the flu, get unfilled.

I see the anesthesiologist tomorrow, for surgery Friday. I'm nervous and excited at the same time.
