Still mourning the loss of my band
CMD1480 replied to finding_a_healthy_way's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am literally sitting in the waiting room at the hospital about to get my band taken out. Your story is very encouraging (besides where they didn't do what you wanted ). I am so nervous to lose my lapband but I haven't eaten in 12 days. Diet, exercise, and strength from God from this point on! -
I have been having major trouble with my lap band since last Saturday. I got everything taken out of the band but still can barely keep an ounce of fluid down. Any suggestions?? I am starving!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I actually went for tests today and I see the dr tomorrow. I have had such great results with my lap band and I am really sad this happened. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I noticed when I use Splenda I was craving sweets. Do you use something like that in your coffee or tea? Cutting that out has helped me so much. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I have to travel for work for the first time since my surgery. I am headed to STL and very nervous because my hotel eating habits are really bad. The hotel has cookies every afternoon and a to die for chocolate cake. Before my band I would have eaten both every night. I know I will be more cautious during my trip, but the temptation will definitely be there. Does anyone have any good tips?

Hi! C25K is Couch to 5K. It is a training program to ease you into running a 5K. There is an app for it for iPhone and Droid. I think it may be called Ease Into 5K now. Good luck!

Mine was supposed to be at six weeks, but my dr was only on vacation. -
Thank you for much for the tips and encouragement. I live near Jacksonville, FL so every flight goes through ATL! Luckily I am not hungry a lot so hopefully the temptations won't be as bad. Congratulations on your weight loss!

My exercise goal is to run at least 3 times a week in March. I am doing C25K so I can run my first 5k in May.

I think living healthy is super hard. It takes so much work and effort. Now it takes me hours to plan out my weekly menu, go to the grocery store and then prep any food (ex carrots, celery, etc). It also so much more expensive. I struggle so much with this, but I am liking the results I am seeing since being banded, so I am going to stick with it.

Keep up the great work!

I am finally getting my first fill tomorrow. My doctor has been on vacation. I am so nervous because I hate needles! -
I can't find it! Is it the group that says March Pre Spring Challenge?

Thanks for the support!

Is anyone else struggling with the mental game due to their lap band surgery? Now that I can eat solid foods I am a mess because I am so terrified of foods. I am afraid of failing at weight loss once again. Is anyone else experiencing this???

Thank you so much for the support. I really want to get to the point where I feel that food is not the enemy!

So Anyone Ever Tried Weight Watchers?
CMD1480 replied to apreezy1's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have tried WW like 4 times. It is a lot of work to count your points, but now with the smart phone apps it makes it a little easier. I agree with JustDoIt30 do what is best for you. -
Hi! Has anyone read any good books that have helped them post surgery?
-
I am glad everything went good for you! Good luck on your journey!

I went today for my two week check up and my doctor said I am ok to start walking and running. I am also going to do a 5k, but I want my first one to be in May. We have a annual Shrimp Fest in my town and I thought that would be a good first one. I am just going to follow the C25K plan. Everyone I know that has done that one says it is perfect way to train.

I didn't really tell anyone either. I am glad I didn't, but now everyone is asking about my wight loss. You are going to be so happy with your results! Good Luck!
