2nd Fill yesterday and I'm miserable

Most doctors recommend fluids for 24-48 hours after a fill. Considering the massive size of your fill, I'm not at all surprised you weren't able to eat the same day you got the fill. If I were in your shoes, I'd go to fluids for a day or two. If you're still so tight then you likely need some of the Fluid removed.

advice or tips on losing weight

Losing weight boils down to simple math. When you burn more calories than you consume you will lose. The only surefire way to know you're not eating too much or too little is to measure your portions and track your calories. Then there is no guessing if you're eating the right things, too much, or too little.

Next to no fluid and still cant eat???

You said "almost" all the Fluid taken out. So you still have some in, yes? If so, then it sounds like you still need to have more removed. Keep in mind there are people that do great with a completely empty band. It's all dependent on your anatomy and how the band fits around your stomach. I would definitely follow up with your doctor. You need to be able to eat healthy "real" foods or you risk running into soft calorie syndrome- eating soft slider foods that go down easy- usually resulting in weight gain. Best wishes

yes, exactly that much. I still do to this day too,

    Healing phase

It really depends on you. The first 4-6 weeks post op are for healing. However, that's not to say you can't lose while healing. I started counting calories and measuring my portions from the day I got from the hospital and because of it I lost consistently right from the very beginning.

    Help!

Puking is never, ever normal. In fact vomiting is very dangerous with the band because it can lead to slips. You were just banded not quite 3 weeks ago, are you supposed to be on solid food already? I would give your doctor a call and get his advice, especially since you're vomiting so soon after surgery.

    Portion control help!!!

If you're worried about stretching your pouch, the easiest solution is to stick to a cup or less of food, regardless of whether or not you feel satisfied. If you're not satisfied on a cup or less of food I'd consider a fill. Best wishes.

    Help

Actually, you may think you're hardly eating anything but little food can be jammed with a lot of calories. Likewise, it's possible you're eating so little calories that you've stalled out your metabolism. Either way, I'd definitely start counting calories.

    Trouble keeping food down

If you're having trouble keeping food down, especially liquids like Protein shakes, you need to speak to your doctor asap. It sounds like you're too tight. Being too tight and vomiting can both lead to slips and are nothing to mess with. Best wishes

    Help

Unfortunately for most people, just working out isn't enough. You have to control your portions and calorie intake, too. Do you make sure your meals are a cup or less of food? Do you track calories?
  12. My vascular surgeon (aka, the man who saved not only my legs but my life) suggested walking 20 minutes a day to rebuild strength and also help flush all the fluid out of my body. Sounds good to me, I've missed my walks so much! 20 minutes is better than nothing!

    How much to eat?

It's per sitting not serving. Your entire meal shouldn't be more than 1 cup with all the food combined.

    Much, much better. Thanks

    How much to eat?

Always follow your own doctors instructions, but most say each meal should be no more than 1 cup of food per meal total.

    Can someone help me!!!

It's not the fact it was specifically bread, it's the fact I highly doubt you're supposed to have bread or anything more than maybe liquids or mushies at only 13 days post op. Btw, chewing food to mush does not count. If it's not the consistency of baby food before it hits your mouth then it's not considered mushy food post diet acceptable. Your stomach has been manipulated and sutured. It's wounded and needs time to heal. It's no wonder you're having this problem because you're not giving that swelling time to resolve itself. Get back on your post op diet, follow it strictly, and tell your doctor exactly what you did and the result after. Let him make sure you didn't do any damage. Best wishes.
  17. 13 hours of sleep in my own bed last night was heaven. Today, I start walking 20 minutes a day to regain my strength and work this fluid out. (yes this is what my doctor recommended lol)

  18. I'm so sorry to have worried so many and I will respond to all your PM's soon. I am alive. I spent the last 8 days in the ICU with severe clotting in my both my legs. I just got home today and will make a blog post explaining it all soon. But I am ok :)

  19. I'm in the hospital with blood clots in both legs. Kinda scary but I'm glad I followed my instincts and came to the ER when the pain got bad. *sighs*

    Eating too much

You'll have to be careful about chewing and bite size but the band isn't meant to physically stop you from eating. The band is meant to keep you satisfied on much less food for much longer periods of time but you can definitely find ways to over eat. This is why it's so important to measure your portions so you don't accidentally over eat.

    Band vs sleeve??

I chose the band because I couldn't justify cutting out 75-80% of my stomach. If something goes wrong with the band I can just get it removed but you can never get back the majority of your stomach they remove. God forbid you get something like stomach cancer with the sleeve- you're totally screwed.

    Mayo?? Which do u prefer?

I use the fat free but I add a little mustard to it. It gives a little tang. I use it in chicken and tuna salad all the time.
