This is just a thought, but it's possible the problem has been that you've been expecting the band to do something it's not meant to do all along. With the band, we're not supposed to be eating in search of the full sensation. In fact, if you're eating until you're full you're likely eating too much. With the band, the idea is to eat until you're satiated (no longer hungry), not full. The other thing to remember is that while the band will tell you when you've had enough to eat (no longer hungry), it's not meant to physically stop you from eating anything. We have to listen to the band and our bodies rather than expect the band to stop us from over eating. Here is a really excellent link. I have said from the beginning, when I lost 200 pounds I wanted a major reward for all my hard work. I've actually lost over 230 pounds now and finally found my reward to myself. A ring. I have wanted a Peridot ring forever. Plus, I feel like every time I look down at my ring, it's reminder not only how far I've come but to stay on track so I never go back to that miserable state again. So, my question is, what's your reward? It doesn't matter how big or small it is. I've had many other small ones along the way and I've love to hear yours. What do you reward yourself with instead of food? (btw, it looks MUCH prettier in person lol)

No never. You shouldn't ever feel pain at your actual band, actually. If you do, then something is wrong like a stuck episode or too tight.

I'm not a doctor so I can't say for sure if you're band is working or not. I do know that it shouldn't matter if you have 8cc in your band or not. If it's not too tight and your hunger clearly isn't controlled, you need another fill. I would talk to your doctor. It sounds like your band isn't working because it's not filled enough for your anatomy.

I won't lie, I'm glad you're getting those tests done to rule out something more serious. When I first read this topic, I immediately worried about MS. (I have MS, btw) It's always better to be safe than sorry.

This is strictly my opinion based on my own experience, but considering you're so hungry it does sound like you need another fill. If I were you, I would start really concentrating when eating to make sure the bites are small enough (about the size of a fingernail), you're pausing between bites, and chewing until absolute mush. So much of life with the band is a learning process and I would imagine you're still learning. Hang in there

You are totally correct. In fact, studies show that 2 years after surgery, weight loss is actually pretty even across the board among all surgeries and the regain rate is about the same too. The only major difference between the three are initial weight loss speed.

Just remember, statistics show that only 5% of complications arise by no fault of the patient. The rest are caused because of something the patient did (or didn't) do to cause it. Also remember that anecdotal evidence like "oh my aunt's friend did this" or "my brother's sister in law said that" holds zero merit. Everyone seems to know somebody that had a WLS and some weird horror story to go along with it. Ignore it- it's not worth your time or energy. Just keep following your own path and don't worry about the naysayers
