    During The Lapband Procedure...

I didn't have one- thank God. I've had one before for another surgery and they are not good. I'd ask your doc to be sure.

    Favorite Food

I drank TONS of soda daily, like 6-8 cans a day. For me, that was the biggest challenge to find a replacement for. Now, if I want a change from Water, I drink the diet Lipton Iced Green Tea in either mixed berry or citrus flavor. Zero calories, tastes great, and no carbonation. I also really like the SoBe Vitamin water, they have tons of great and unique flavors.

    Depression

The first 4-6 weeks after surgery are for healing, not losing. Most don't loose during this time, some even gain, so if you lost 13 pounds you're doing great. Put the scale away for the next month and concentrate on following the post op diet, making smart food choices, and healing. Then once you're back on normal food and all healed up you can start worrying about weight loss.

Just Got Banded 8 Hours Ago

Congratulations and I'm glad you're doing so well! And yes, laying flat on my back jacked mine up too. It took a couple days for it to relax again. Best wishes!!

    Pizza

I order pizza about once a month. I use a knife and fork to eat it though, so I don't get too big a bite. I also eat the Lean Cuisine personal pan pizzas at least once a week.

    Salad?

I love salad but I can't eat it too early in the day or I'm too tight. Very often I eat them for dinner. I put in chick peas, cucumber, a little sunflower seed hearts, and top it with fat free ranch dressing. I'll also buy the precooked cubed ham at the store and put a couple ounces of that in too for some protein. Yummm!

    Feet?

Mine have shrunk a whole size, so yes. In fact my shoes from before I lost weight are way too big and stretched out, I can't even wear them anymore.

    I Was Approved Today!!!

    Congratulations!!!!
  10. I would find a new doc right away, because I suspect it's going to be a process not only finding one but getting all your records sent to the new office. Then, while you're in the transitional period between offices, you can still see your current one for follow-up and a fill if necessary. Statistically speaking, people who follow up with their surgeons regularly after surgery seem to do better than those that don't. Their guidance is important and they can help to catch issues when they're still small, rather than after they've become huge issues. Best of luck to you.
  11. I can't eat solids for breakfast, I'm too tight. So, I have a Protein shake for breakfast every morning. However, I do have some hot tea or coffee also, and that seems to really help. By lunch I can eat most things, by dinner I can eat whatever I want.

    Can We Drink Diet Coke?

No carbonation. It's directly linked to slips of the band and stretching of the pouch. I might also add, the woman who shared a room with me in the hospital was there to get her band replaced. Why? Because she was drinking soda regularly and not only caused a slip but prolapsed her stomach through her band. She also regained 40 pounds in a matter of months. Carbonation isn't worth the risk.

    The Elusive Green Zone?

I currently have 4cc in a 10cc band and am definitely in the Green Zone.

Could It Really Be.... Dun Dun Dun... The Green Zone

I have experienced similar. Ever since my last fill 2 weeks, I am lucky to get in 900 calories a day. I was eating 1100-1200 a day. It's not like I'm trying to cut calories, and I can still eat anything I want, I just find I'm full very quickly so simply can't get in all the calories I used to anymore.

Help: Does Weight Loss Just Happen?

I know others who don't count calories and do great. However, I always count calories to be sure I'm not accidentally over-doing it. I find more often than not, if someone is on here talking about not loosing and not counting calories, they are usually shocked at the amount of calories they've been eating when they do start logging them. Just what I've observed here.

First Fill - Please Tell Me That Results Get Better!

Breakfast: Protein shake, same thing every day Lunch: 1 piece of toasted whole grain bread, tuna with fat free mayo, and 1 piece of low fat American cheese melted over the top. 1 medium banana Dinner: 4oz baked chicken breast marinated in BBQ sauce, 1/4 cup green beans, 1/4 cup homemade mashed potatoes Snack: 1/3 cup low fat cottage cheese Exercise is difficult because I have Multiple Sclerosis. My exercise consists of mostly walking and just trying to increase my daily activity as best I can.

First Fill - Please Tell Me That Results Get Better!

Thanks Honestly, I don't do anything special. I just do exactly what my nutrionist recommended and track all my calories/nutrients on an app called "Lose It". 1000-1200 calories a day, at least 60g of protein, no more than 125g of carbs, no more than 20% fat. That's it, nothing special or difficult.

First Fill - Please Tell Me That Results Get Better!

A couple things.. -For most people, it takes more than one fill before you have adequate restriction, usually multiple fills. Until you do finally reach that point, you're stuck relying on will-power. -If you're making good food choices and still not loosing, try playing with your calories. You CAN have too little calories. When your body doesn't have enough to sustain itself it creates a self-induced metabolic syndrome and your metabolism just stops burning off the excess. If you're under a 1000-1200 calories a day, making good food choices, and still not losing then try a slight increase for a week and see if that doesn't help kick start your metabolism again. -Protein is crucial. Make sure you're getting at least 60-80g per day.

Mine has been really irregular the last couple months, I have attributed it to the rapid and large weight loss.

    In Mourning

I have gone through it as well. I was down a couple months ago and was truly angry I couldn't sit with a bag of Reese Peanut Butter miniatures and drown my sorrows in junk. I still have to regularly ask myself "am I head hungry or actually hungry?", especially at night. Hang in there, we'll win this battle!

4.7 Cc In A10 Cc Band. Food Getting Stuck

The amount of Fluid in the band that results in the Green Zone is different for everyone, so you can't go by that. As far as food coming up, take very small bites (like the size of your nail) and chew it until mush. Pause between bites. See if that helps. You know you're in the Green Zone when: -You can be satisfied with a cup of food or less -You can go 4-5 hours between meals without being hungry -You're not having night coughs or new acid reflux -You're able to eat normally (though again, tiny bites and well chewed) -You're losing weight (even if slowly)

    Very Frustrated...only Lost 31 Lbs

I have you tried logging your calories? Many are surprised how much (or sometimes little) they're actually eating. I would suggest keeping track of them to see exactly what you're consuming so you know if you need to decrease or increase what you're eating. I use an app called Lose It! to track mine- it's my bible. It makes it very easy.
