    Pouch Stretch

I really think it depends on how much and how often you over-eat, For instance, if you ate an entire cake in one sitting, I'd be worried. But if you had 2 cups of Pasta instead of 1 cup for an evening, I wouldn't worry about it. We're all human and all make mistakes. Unless you did some serious binge eating and more than once, I really think you'll be ok.

    Shoulder Pain

It's because of the gas they pump in during surgery. It sucks, I remember it well. I found a heating pad helped, otherwise the best thing you can do is walk as much as you can to help your body reabsorb it faster.

    Gained Weight And Depressed!

The first 4-6 weeks after surgery are for healing, not losing. Until you are past the post op diet and onto to regular foods you may as well put away your scale. Once you're healed and onto regular food again, then you can start worrying about losing weight. For now, just stick to your post op diet phases and try to make the best food choices possible.

    Nsaids And Prednisone-Erosion

I'm not clear how that's possible, because it would have to erode the stomach first to even get to the band.

    Recently Banded- Question

Most of the time if someone is only eating 4 or 5 bites of food, they're either taking too big of bites or their band is too tight. Or, they are post op and their stomach is swollen from surgery. Another possibility is they're newly filled and still learning to adjust their eating habits accordingly. As far as weight loss, everyone loses at different rates and need different caloric intakes to be successful. Some people actually need more calories for their metabolism to kick in an lose, whereas others do great on a very low calorie diet. I know that doesn't give you the answer you were looking for, but it's the honest answer. We're all different so what works for one doesn't for another. It's a matter of finding out what works best for you.

    Increased Alcohol Intake

I don't know you so I don't know about the alcoholic thing, but please keep in mind if you're drinking every night then to excess (because you feel crappy the next day) every Friday night, you are drinking a lot of alcohol. Unfortunately for us, alcoholism does rise in people who have WLS of any sort. The reason being is, many people simply trade their food addiction for a new addiction. Just be very careful.

Will It Be This Way After.first Fil

Everyone's anatomy is different so I don't know how many fills it will take for you feel restriction, however once you do have restriction you will most likely notice the difference. You will have to be more conscious of taking really small bites of food, chewing until mush, and pausing between bites. Most people learn this the hard way. We think we're taking small enough bites then suddenly find ourselves stuck or PBing back our food. It's happened to me more than a few times. Btw, you should never be vomiting from the band. PBing is different than vomiting, it's not forceful, it's food just burped back up. Vomiting is forceful and can lead to slips. You may be one of the lucky ones who never get stuck or PB even with good restriction, but only time will tell if that's the case of not. Quite honestly, I've never known anyone with the band who's not been stuck at least once.

    3Mos Post-Op And Can't Stop Eating!!

Head hunger is when you REALLY want to eat but aren't physically hungry. Many of us struggle with it. I know I have to ask myself regularly if I'm physically hungry or just want to eat for the sake of eating. It's different than loving the taste of food, it's a strong almost drive or craving to eat when you're not physically hungry at all. Resisting the urge to eat when having head hunger, not physical hunger, can be extremely hard to resist or ignore, too.
  12. Are you making healthy food choices? Do you count calories? Do you get enough protein in?

    Need Help With Protein Shakes

Everyone is different, however the only one I genuinely like is unjury. I have the chocolate splendor for Breakfast every morning. They also sell an unflavored powder you can mix with other stuff. I mix mine with skim milk because it's extra nutrients and Protein Unjury is only available online: http://www.unjury.com/store/protein/

    3Mos Post-Op And Can't Stop Eating!!

I could be wrong, but it sounds like head hunger not physical hunger. If so, that has nothing to do with bandster hell or the band itself. Unfortunately the band can't fix our minds. If you really feel like you've lost control, perhaps you might consider counseling to help you deal with it. It really can help a lot. Best wishes

    Whats The Stinkin Point

Have you read the reviews for the doctor you chose here? They aren't good. Perhaps this is your sign you need to pick a better surgeon. http://www.lapbandtalk.com/surgeons/1200-richard-carter/page__tab__feedback

    Carb Question?...

You're going to get a lot of different answers from that question because we're all told different things from our surgeons and nutritionists. I am supposed be eating no more than 125g of carb daily, per my nutritionist. Most here tend to do very low carb, I however don't go low carb and still do well. Perfect example of how everyone's body and needs are different.

    Weight Loss Question...

I had considerable restriction even with an empty band. It's all dependent on your anatomy. Likewise, I am definitely in the Green Zone of good restriction with only 4cc in my band now, too. Most people need their bands more full than mine is (at least it appears that way from all I read). You're doing great, just keep at it like you are

    Cancelled For Good?!

I Googled him and found nothing, but the good news is I can't find any news stories forbidding Lap-Band in BC, either. My guess is something has happened with him specifically that prevents him from doing the surgery. I know it's frustrating, but perhaps find a new surgeon? Best wishes to you,

    Weight Loss Question...

Well, kinda, yes you are being unrealistic (and I mean that in the nicest way ) You have to remember the first 4-6 weeks after surgery are for healing not weight loss. So, the fact you have lost any during this first month is quite the accomplishment. You should be very proud. Also, look at it this way: You have lost approximately 2.5 pounds per week since surgery. Generally speaking, most surgeons will say they expect a 1-2 pound per week loss average. So again, you are doing great and are actually losing faster than predicted. Be patient with yourself, the weight is coming off and you are doing very good

Have You Played The Mental Game?

I think we all play the mental game, be it rationalizing our food choices or battling head hunger vs. real hunger. I mean, the sad fact is, we ALL have issues that start in the mind or we wouldn't have ended up fat and needing the Lap-Band to begin with. For me, the only way I can stick to eating the right foods is by keeping the wrong foods out of my house entirely. I don't claim to have will power- I don't at all. So, I compensate by not making unhealthy foods an option in my home. It's the only way I'm ever going to eat the right things day after day. Hang in there and don't give up. You can win this battle

Poll: Why Did You Get Banded

I did it because I was tired of feeling like complete crap and looking even worse. I did it because I want to live long enough for my kids to grow up and someday spoil my grandkids rotten. I did it because I have Multiple Sclerosis, and having MS is bad enough I sure as heck don't need a whole host of obesity related health issues on top of it. I can't cure the MS, but I can cure being obese.
