    Im Not Loosing

If you're eating 1100 calories a day and exercising, you definitely should be losing weight. I would get your hormones checked as well as your thyroid. You could very well have a medical issue that's causing the difficulty losing weight. Make an appointment with your primary care doctor, tell him what's going on, and get a thorough physical as well as blood work done.

    I Need A Fill

You have to remember, you didn't gain the weight overnight and you're not going to lose it overnight either. It takes just as much patience as it takes work. You're losing, and you're even losing before your first fill, that is something to be proud of and happy about, not discouraged.

    I Need A Fill

You're not doing anything wrong. You were just banded a month ago and you're losing. You said you're still eating cream soups and protein drinks, are you still on liquids?

    How Fast Is The Weightloss?

As the other posters above stated, everyone is different. Heck, everyone can even vary greatly from month to month. I've lost as much as 26 pounds in a month and as little as 7 pounds in a month. Most doctors will tell you explain to lose 1-2 pounds per week after Lap Band surgery.

Need Advice On Finding A New Band Doc

I can't give advice on a specific doctor, but I would Google bariatric surgeons in your area and see what comes up. Then, cross reference the names here to see what people have rated them as and say about them

Anyone Else Cold Since Loosing Weight?

I'm another one freezing all the time. I'm currently sitting in my living room with my hoodie on and a blanket on my lap and still shivering.
  8. Ignorance isn't bliss, especially when your health is at stake. I wish more people would actually educate themselves before rushing into surgery.

    Ok...whats The Deal!!

The band is there to help you, and I say exactly what it's supposed to do. Keep you feeling satisfied on less food for longer periods of time. I'm sorry but it's not my job to educate and coddle everyone. I give the short version of the facts as they are needed, I have a life and don't have hours to spend with every redundant question that's posted a dozen times a day. People are not getting the wrong idea, they're getting the facts. Facts that could save them from being one of the many people who suffer avoidable slips from misusing their bands. It's not my problem if you or anyone else doesn't like it or chooses to ignore it.

I Think My Band Is Too Tight....

This couldn't be more incorrect. In fact, most people lose weight when getting a slight unfill after being too tight.

    Ok...whats The Deal!!

I say that because it's fact. It's not supposed to give you that full feeling you had before surgery. Too often people strive for that and end up over filled and too tight because of it. It's supposed to satiate your hunger for longer periods of time on less food. Here's some education on the topic from one of the leaders in the field: http://drsimpson.net...estriction.html "When talking about the band, some patients talk about restriction. Let's first be clear about one thing: the purpose of the band is not restriction; the purpose of the band is to lose weight by suppressing the appetite." "When you eat Thanksgiving dinner, you can feel stuffed. Contrast that with the sensation two hours after you eat your big meal, at that point your appetite is suppressed. It is the subtle dimming of the appetite that the band should provide. Being stuffed after a large meal is a complicated sensation of the abdominal wall stretching and a lot of gas in the bowel, in addition to feeling a diminution of appetite. You will not, and should not, feel the abdominal wall stretch with the band. You should not feel the "near nausea" and you should not feel bloated. Key point: You should NEVER eat until you feel full. It is best to stop eating before you "feel full." If you do eat until you feel full you will most likely be overstuffed. This leads to the universal key to success -- patients who eat a small volume of food (which, if you measure, is consistent) will be successful with the band. If you want to succeed, you need to know how much you are eating, and then stop eating -- it is in your control, but the band will help you -- not by stopping you, but by allowing you to feel satisfied after the small volume."

    Getting Sick And Having Lapband

I keep OTC anti-nausea medication in the medicine cabinet at all times. This way if I am hit with a sudden stomach bug I'm prepared to at least attempt to battle it. I too am very afraid of vomiting. As for medications, I still take the exact same stuff I always have.

    I Need Help!!!

First, unless your daughter is trained specifically to do Lap Band fills and unfills with a qualified bariatric surgeon, then absolutely not. She has no business touching your band and you're begging for major problems if she does. Second, I'm not trying to be harsh, but the doctor being upset with you should be the least of your concerns. If you're vomiting regularly you're at huge risk for a slip. You need to go back and see your surgeon, deal with this head on, and have your band thoroughly checked. You're playing with your health right now and that's not wise. Get back into your surgeon,

    I Guess I'm A Little Confused

Actually, it usually takes multiple fills. There are a few lucky people that do have some restriction in their band even with it empty but that is the exception not the rule. Many refer to the time period between surgery and the Green Zone as "bandster hell" because you're expected to eat like a banded person even though you don't feel like one yet. It's all just part of the process.

    Swlc Or Slimband......

You just join this forum 7 minutes before posting this, your profile is completely blank, and it's to sing the praises of some no-name band that others are speaking against? I call sock puppet. If anything, your post should be all the proof the original poster needs to know to stay far away from Slimband.

No Fill Yet - Over Eating At Meal Times

Measure everything you eat. Serve yourself a 1 cup sized meal, when it's gone, you're done eating. Please keep in mind that even with fills, the band isn't supposed to stop you from eating anything. It's not supposed to restrict how much or what you eat and it's not even supposed to make you feel full. The one and only thing the band is supposed to do satiate your hunger one less food for longer periods of time. This is why it's important to learn to stick to band sized portions- because it's not something the band will do for you. Best wishes.

    So Mad With My Self!!!!

The above posters advice to journal what eat is what I'd do, too. Also, are you sticking to a cup or less of food per meal? Unfortunately just because you're eating salads often doesn't necessarily mean you're eating healthy or low calorie. It's all entirely dependent on what you put in the salad.

    How Long...?

It was really quick for me, too. Went to the first seminar the beginning of December 2011 and was banded a month later January 6, 2012.

    Night Coughs

Night coughs are one of the warning signs that your band is too tight. This should not be ignored nor should it be put off because a too tight band can lead to slips.

    Swlc Or Slimband......

I found this on those specific doctors/centers, definitely have a look. It sounds like SWLC is a much better and safer choice: http://www.ratemds.com/doctor-ratings/47736/Dr-Chris-Cobourn-Mississauga-ON.html Plus, it appears Dr. Cobourn uses the proven safe Lap-Band whereas I've never heard of Slimband.

    Ok...whats The Deal!!

As you get close to the Green Zone, you'll be shocked how big a difference even the smallest fill can make. Even a fill as small as .2cc can make a huge difference, so don't worry about running out of room in your band. You still have a lot of room for fills.

Tips On Eating After A Lap Band Adjustment / Fill

Mine recommends the same, 24 hours of liquids then 24 hours of mushies before slowly going back to normal food as tolerated.

    Ok...whats The Deal!!

Then it sounds like you just haven't found your Green Zone yet. I know it's hard but most people do require multiple fills before they have adequate Fluid in their bands. And 5cc is a very big fill, so I'm guessing good restriction will come quicker than later. Be patient, it'll happen
