Carb Cycling- An Experiment Gone Right!

Aww thanks hon. You're always there for me too, though. It goes both ways. Who else can I text at 11pm about a newer relationship to gush like an idiot schoolgirl? LOL! -
Carb Cycling- An Experiment Gone Right!

Well the 7th day is supposed to be a cheat day! I was scared to death to do, but I did, and I followed the rules. You must cheat breakfast and lunch, never dinner. You can go a maximum of 1000 calories over your daily allowance. You must eat at a table- no grazing, no distracted eating. No leftovers, whatever you don't finish from your cheat, throw away. I did this last Friday. I had a package of peanut butter cups and I took my kids out to eat at Cracker Barrel. There I had some very fatty looking meatloaf and mashed potatoes smothered in gravy lol. But I stuck the cheat day rules, and sure enough, I still woke up lighter the next morning. However, this week I'm not having a cheat day. With Thanksgiving next week, I figure I better behave because that whole day is bound to be one big epic cheat LOL! -
Oh I'd be livid! That is total crap!! I would complain, LOUDLY, to your surgeon. He needs to be aware of how horribly she's treating his patients. Tell him exactly what happened and that he needs someone on staff that is willing to help his patients not be a rude idiot to them. In the meantime, some of us are giving carb cycling a try. Maybe it can help you too? It's really working for us so far. We're all losing. Here's our thread on it: http://www.lapbandta...ent-gone-right/

Carb Cycling- An Experiment Gone Right!

Thank you For high carb days, it's pretty easy. I pretty much eat what I want so long as it's low fat and not sugar/junk. I seriously love high carb days because I have stuff like small amounts of macaroni and cheese! Yummm! If you scroll back in this thread, you can see where I posted a high carb day graph too. -

Angel that is amazing, I'm so happy for you! I'm down another pound this morning too, for a total of 10.8 in just under 2 weeks since starting carb cycling! That's including a cheat day (per the book) too! -

Help - How Do You Know If U Need An Unfill?
DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! replied to Domika03's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, essentially. I personally stick to 1 cup portions (as recommended by doctor) and whatever's left goes in the trash if I haven't finished it within a half hour. -
Not Sure If I Am Getting Enough Calories

I agree, it does sound like too little. I know when I slip below 1000 calories a day my weight loss seriously slows down and even stalls out. -
Raspberry Keytone
DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! replied to allik07's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've never taken it, however when researching carbs and weight loss, I did stumble on reviews for Raspberry Keotones. They weren't favorable at all, in fact most said it was a bunch of trash and total waste of money. Ironically, Dr. Oz had them on his show awhile ago too but has since changed his mind on it as well. -

Help - How Do You Know If U Need An Unfill?
DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! replied to Domika03's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well first, you should never eat longer than 20-30 minutes max per meal. Any longer than that you are risking eating around the band. Is it possible your bites aren't small enough? My nutritionist said the bites should be no bigger than your fingernail, chewed until mush, and pause between bites. Also keep in mind your stomach may still be swollen and irritated from the fill, too. -
My stomach is always noisy. My kids laugh at me lol

You might be going through some carb withdrawals. I know PattyGirl was going through similar. I was a little "meh" the first 2 low carb days, now I'm fine. I feel no difference between the high and low carb except I have no appetite on low carb days. -
Be Honest- Is Banded Life Hard?
DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! replied to ireallywannabthin's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
For me, the band makes it TONS easier. I struggle to get 1000-1200 calories a day because I'm simply not hungry. Before I was banded, honestly I could eat that much in one meal. Easily. -

When I hit my first plateau, I still weighed over 340 pounds!! Believe me, it happens to everyone regardless of how much you still have to lose. -
I always have a Protein shake for breakfast. Like you, I am NOT a morning person at all. I also can't stand eggs so that's out. I find the protein keeps me satisfied a lot longer than cereal or toast. For Snacks, keep some pistachios in your desk drawer. They're a great high protein snack to help keep the hunger away. I also really like the light Babybel cheese, too.

Hon you are not whining. Plateaus suck something wicked. I thought I might lose my mind when the scale didn't move for over 5 weeks. I'm just hoping this carb cycling gets us all not only past the plateaus but moving consistently downward on the scale, too. Considering I'm now down about 10 pounds in less than 2 weeks, I'd say so far me it's working. -

It is. I seriously hated the first 2 low carb days, but now, I'm fine with them. I'm not a meat eater either, btw. I could honestly go the rest of my life without ever having red meat again and be fine with it. That's part of why I couldn't cut dairy out of my diet I had to- it's a major source of protein for me. -
Green Zone
DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! replied to arcarter's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The Green Zone is essentially having adequate Fluid in your band. You can go at least 4 hours on a cup of food without being hungry.
