SEVERE CHEST/BACK,SHOULDER PAIN even after removal
tgb replied to lodwick01's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I started getting shoulder pain when I cut back on my Celexa meds. I'm back on it after realizing that stress was causing my shoulder/arm pain. It felt like someone stuck me with a fork. I tried deep muscle massages and then Chiropractic. I had a beer that caused pain in my shoulder then realized it was gas pain and had started since I ran out and was trying to quit my meds. I started taking them again and the pain went away. I have to take them everyday or the I get some pain. Nothing like what it has been with the Celexa -
Wait til you have a beer. You'll think you tore a muscle. Found this happens when I'm under a lot of stress

Band Placed Too High, Recurring Pneumonia....anyone Else??
tgb replied to sleeve_sister's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Thanks for sharing you story, it sounds like you've been thru band hell. I hope you get break with the sleeve. I would do it if I was in your situation. Maybe they can use the side with the ulcer and holes to sleeve off. Better luck in your next journey. -
I would like to know the same thing, glad you asked. I had restriction with port pain when i walked now no port pain and very little restriction. Does it evaporate?

Left Shoulder Pain
tgb replied to 2012Enoughisenough's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I received a deep muscle massage and it helped mine a lot. They worked an hour on my left shoulder. My muscles were in a knot from constant left shoulder pain. After the massage the pains were not as intense and now it doesn't happen at all. To be honest I also had a second fill, it could have been either one but I strongly feel my shoulder did feel like a knot and the massage is what helped it the most. -

I don't tell anyone, only my parter knows. Not even my mother. It's nobody's business. -
First Fill Scheduled Thursday... Does It Hurt? How Does If Feel? Advice?
tgb replied to Carolinacrumb's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
On my first fill my doctor polked around until he found the access port too. The weird part of mine was the feeling in my stomach of tightening, I laughed and said that feels Soooo weird. He said he doesn't normally get laughing when he does a fill. I was worried that the port turned or didnt work. No worries after that first visit. -

I had my first fill today, 2cc today for a total of 4cc. My band has a max of 10cc, What's the deal on different band holding different amounts ?
-
I also have the pain in the left shoulder. Im due for my 1st fill next week so. I'm concerned about it. I have a left shoulder injury so I think that isn't helping any. I plan on getting a massage on that shoulder again. A deep muscle massage would feel Soooo good when it's aching, actually a knife might feel good too, not for real but the thought has crossed my mind. My pain doesnt have rhyme or reason either. It does feel better when I burp so it might be gas. Gas x do not work. My shoulder also feels bruised all the time I'm still trying the massage for it. Can't pass up a reason for a massage

Achy And Crampy After Eating ?
tgb replied to NJMomma's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 17 days now. I wasn't weak but I haven't had restrictions. Although I seem to have more restrictions as I I heal. My first food (chicken sliced deli meat) my band really didn't like was today and I ate the same a few days ago. Weird -
Incisions Have Opened 10 Days Post Op

no stitches either, just steri strips. I thought it was a pretty big cut (port cut) for no stitches. -
Whats Wrong With This Video???
tgb replied to otaknam's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
good to hear the food wasn't correct. I was banded 1 week ago and it scared me. I think the food on the before was less too -
Please talk with your anatheisologist about nauseous. They don't always put the medicine in for nauseous. I was banded yesterday (3-15) and was worried about throwing up. I read these posts about how folks spent the day throwing up, one person even said "I would rather be fat"; wow you know that had to be bad. My partner said she got sick her first time because they didn't put the med in, but was OK the 2nd when they did. I wasn't sick at all and I asked the anatheisologist for the medicine.

Ate A Full Burger And Fries! Help!!
tgb replied to dramastarr's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
"take everything in moderation, even moderation itself" Not my saying but I like it. It means it's ok to screw up every once in a while. -
Followup...I did it! I was banded today, March 15th No problems, just some soreness. No nauseousness. I can walk great but getting up is the challenge. The nurse said the nauseousness folks get is from the anesthesia, any surgery would be a problem for them, so no problem for me. already tired of broth and Jello . Progressive Soup is the best, drain the broth for and share the noodles n stuff with my partner. This was (is) a lot better than the Campbell's beef broth. so far so good Tina

I would call that a very flat soda pop

thanks Tina 2 for encouraging words. I haven't messed up the diet yet too bad but also haven't strictly done it either. I will use your advice of "they won't do the surgery if I don't shrink my liver". I have 10 more days, all my weight loss diets have been hard the first couple of days, maybe it will be easier in a few more days. thanks again.

This is my first post, I'm a March 15 lapper. I'm Tina glad to meet ya'll. I'm trying real hard with this diet 2 weeks before surgery. How is everyone else doing with it? My understanding it's to shrink the liver so the doctor can access their area better. So what happens if I fail? I haven't failed miserably just a slight fail. Obviously dieting is a problem.
