Great. Where are you located?

I got my first fill today!! Had surgery march 1 so it has not been quite a month. I made the mistake when I went for my two week post op and scheduled it for two weeks out instead of a month but he did it anyway. I'm happy about that! I've been eating pretty consistently up until now. Was down 15 after surgery but up a couple today so I guess net loss was about 11. On liquids now. How long do you all have to stay on liquids cause I'm so hungry right now I feel like dominating a pizza.

I love the special k water fiber protein mix. I bought it before surgery and I can't remember where. I've been back to Walmart looked at their diet shake isle and at the crystal light isle can't find it. Sad.

Let's back track since I'm 17 days post op. Started looking into surgery September 2011. 6 mos of drs visited for insurance. Hated every minute told doc at my first visit that if ins does not approve right away I'm not doing this. Well I jumped through all the hoops and I'm glad they made me wait 6 mos 4 would have been enough but it was smart to really get my head in the game and not take this lightly. So life changing. A part of yourself dies. You die to the old ways and all the bad behavior and you surgically force yourself to do it because you realize you just don't have it in you to do it yourself. Tried ww nutrisystem cookie diet just about everything. And really if you are grown up enough or whatever, any reasonable diet works if you stick to it. so hard to make them a permanent lifestyle so hopefully you have the resources and the thought to have it done for you. I guess I feel like a little kids making all the wrong decisions and choices for myself so I had to have an intervention big grown up stepped in for rebellious brat and said if you can't make the right decisions then they will be made for you. I guess it was super grown up of me to realize that I kinda suck at managing my weight and hired myself a manager with a proven track record. Hmm maybe if you can't do things well you have to hire out. Not everyone cuts their own hair no matter how much you want to. Sometimes you just can't. So I'm going on and on but I don't care cause this is my blog and I guess diary of sorts. I will not go back to check my spelling I'm a pretty good speller and if the I pad thinks I wanted to write tits instead of this then that's what it's gonna be.

Ladies- when u say mushies, are you putting stuff in the blender or chewing it up really well

Ok, sorry but why is your husband all up in your grill?? You need to be the one who wants to weigh. Sorry I don't want to start anything. And of course all the Iv fluids pumping in to you and not walking around a bit makes it an unrealistic number. I'm just sayin

New me 2012. I went for my post op today too. I had to wait two weeks. I was banded march 1. I got in a little trouble cause I've been trying solids. Really chewing them. Doc told me not to test the band. He said he left a little fluid in there. Not sure if that's true cause I don't know if we have any restriction just cause we have a band. I felt some the other day when I tried to eat eggs. Had a few bites and I had to throw them out. But everything I read says people feel restriction but it isnt real. Oh well it feels real to me. Let me live in my world. Haha. Hope you are doing well

Hernia combo folks- If you end up getting a hernia repaired go buy one of those velcro adjustable belts at the sports store. I don't know why it wasn't recommended but they help hold your guts in. You may need to buy 2 because u don't want it too tight. I used a little extra piece of Velcro. It said fits 50 inches. Nope. Just a thought. It helps tremendously I Even use it when I sleep so I can roll over and not be hurting. Hope that made sense

Not losing is a very scary thought. We have to give up a lot of yummy food that we love because frankly our bodies won't tolerate them. I read someone's post that she was hoping to eat all her favs but just not a lot. That will mess you up. Got to make every thing count. Protein first blah blah u know I just don't want my hair falling out and other stuff.

Hubby changed my Facebook name from Swee Karma to Sweetie Karma so if anyone is looking that's me. Wish he would tell me sooner. Grrr but he thought I'd like it better. He gets to live one more night. Lol

Yes I have only told my immediate family. Had to have two hernias repaired so that's my story. I have also started a different face book page new name new email. That way I can speak freely. If anyone is interested I'm Swee Karma have a great night!!

Facebook page!!! I'm on fb exclusive for lap band stuff since I want ready to share w ALL of my "other outside our circle" friends. I think it will be great to speak freely on fb. So start a new account get a new email and let's update each other. My "handle" so to speak is Swee Karma

Sharon, great idea. It's confusing I was contemplating doing another Facebook page w new name just dedicated to lap band so I can post and people can chime in etc but then you have to create a new email account as well. Still think its a good idea. My hubby even set me up. I think it could work well. Just a thought

Dhales I had a hiatal hernia repair too and another hernia but I haven't had any chest pains at all I'm sorry Sharon that you are experiencing this. I guess everyone is so different hoping you don't have them dhales. Today was slower moving than yesterday. Stay off of work as long as you can!!!

It does feel like everything is going to fall out. It feels stitched tight and for me feels better if I support my belly. Tried a back thingy but it's too bulky maybe it will work for you. U guess they pulled things tight w a hernia. Keep healing. Youll get there.

Hey Sara Thanks for asking. I think they are but seriously I have nothing to base it on. I've definitely been improving except for today. No worse than yesterday but no better. I don't see anything that looks like an infection so that's good. Just feel a little abandoned. Glad I have these forums. Thanks

Like how about something simple such as " hey we noticed that recently we put 6 holes in you, how's that working out?" I'm just sayin

So it's karma88 again. I have to say I'm a little annoyed. My surgery was March 1 so 5 days ago. No one has called from the Dr or hospital. Now I'm not high mainenence at all but can a girl get a shout out like " hey we noticed we put 6 holes in your belly. How's that going?". Come on. Sorry feeling a little bitchy.
