    July Gastric Bypass?

Yeah, this is my second go round after my lap band that I had for 10 years failed on me. I definitely think in hindsight that slow loss is best because my skin never looked crazy and again it doesn't this time either. It's pulling back in very nicely. I think water is key as well...I have to remind myself daily to load up on water in the morning before I eat anything so it has enough room to fit in. I have tried fasting until noon as well and only drinking water and that seems to kick start weight loss

    July Gastric Bypass?

Anyone else notice a pretty huge fluctuation in weight around that time of month? I gain like 3 lbs and then it drops right after the monthly is done plus another 2. It's pretty crazy...every month.

    July Gastric Bypass?

I was a 7/15 date and I am at 43 lbs down. I know I have a bigger pouch (5 bites) so mine will be slower than most but I also got a little lenient when I was working 80 hours a week with my eating and now I'm back on track. The one upside to losing slow is your skin has time to adjust so just keep moving and it will come off!

    July Gastric Bypass?

This Smooth Move tea is caffeine free so no worries about that part. I did start drinking a low acid coffee at 10 weeks out because I work 80 hours a week and I really need something. I am taking a prilosec every morning to prevent any ulcers and my Dr says that is fine. I would say avoid the caffeine as long as you can, once you start back up it is really hard to break the habit again.

    July Gastric Bypass?

I think eating 3 bites of protein and 2 bites of something with fiber is the best ratio per meal...forgot to add that.

    July Gastric Bypass?

I have found that magnesium supplement every other day helps to keep the constipation at bay and a tea from either Amazon or natural foods store called Smooth Move will clear up any remaining problems without any cramping or emergency type situations. The tea reliably works in about 8 hours so perfect to drink before bed time.

    July Gastric Bypass?

Mine was 7/15, I'm stalled at the moment. Trying to find my motivation again :) Down about 34 lbs so far. I am finding that if I count my food then I think about food too much but if I don't count at least a few days a week then I drift off and eat badly. Trying to refocus on protein, water, and carb counts to get back on track. Added a fitbit so I can keep track of my sleep and calories burned so I know what I'm doing...we'll see.

Magnesium tabs work like a charm as well if you're ever finding the tea isn't helping.

    really not losing weight rapidly

I hit a plateau in the second week and it lasted 2 weeks. I found that I needed to eat real food and not supplements and stay to 5 bites only of high quality protein and veggies and only 1-2 carb bites a day. The weight started sliding off after that. I switched from mostly water to Powerade zero which seemed to help as well. I also found that when I obsessed about entering my food to the app that I thought more about food than just eating when I felt hungry. Think about the things you are doing and change one thing at a time for a few days and see if that helps. If not, change something else. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using BariatricPal mobile app
  11. I'm sorry this is happening to you! My Dr told me he made my pouch bigger because he did not want me to waste away. I had to have bypass because there was so much scar tissue from my lap band that my sleeve conversion failed within a few days. Maybe they can fix your pouch to make it bigger? He told me 5oz vs 3 is best for smaller people. Worth it to see if anything can be done to revise. I would definitely see some one who specializes in high risk revisions. 12. Yep, same here. I found if I'm going to eat something sweet, it has to be the last bite of the 5 and it's that or another carb bite with the rest being protein. It's totally not worth it to feel like you're having a palpitation... Bread even made me feel sick so it's no joke when you cheat. I don't even want to know what a sugary drinks would do and I'm not about to find out! Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using BariatricPal mobile app

The iron can definitely cause it. You can take a magnesium supplement with colace if you are constipated or try some Smooth Move tea. That stuff works like a charm with no cramping Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using BariatricPal mobile app
