Should I call tonight or do you think it's ok to wait until morning? He is on vacation so I hate to bother him unless it is an emergency. -

And laying in bed hurts worse. This is a nightmare! -
I am having problems with stabbing pain every time I eat or drink anything. I have tried hot, cold, and room temperature drinks. I have tried runny mashed potatoes, refried Beans, yogart, snd Popsicles. I am barely drinking 16 oz a day and that is hard. I feel helpless. I called the doctor today but he was in surgery. I am taking Prilosec and Pepcid ac and I am walking a lot. What else can I do?? Carol

yes. I had my surgery on 3/12, 8 days ago. Dr. Dewitt is wonderful. I have had pain and other things I worried about but he always calls me, even after hours to help. He really cares and will take great care of you. You are in good hands. When is your surgery date? -
I was feeling so good on Sunday that I cancelled my appt. yesterday was a good day but I woke up not feeling great today. I haven't had fever again so I think it's just the healing process. I am trying to drink more today and rest more and see if that helps. I have lost 15 lbs so far so at least that is good.

I went to several ENT's and they either know nothing about it or tell you to eat more and stop exercising for a while. There are some specialists who operate but they are rare and the success rate of the surgery is something like 20%.

I had that when I lost weight before and I am praying I don't have it this time. When you lose weight too quickly, some people lose the fat around the tube in the ear and it causes this. The only thing I have found that works is eating more. For immediate, temporary relief, lower your head below heart level and the tubes will close. Good luck!

My doctor said not to take them.

Hey, I called and talked my surgeon and he said since my fever was under 100, to take Tylenol and continue drinking liquids. He said if that didn't work or my fever got high or anything, to call him. He thinks I am fine but just more sensitive. I have an appointment Monday morning.
-
Now I have a fever.
-
Thanks for all of the advice. I am not running a fever but I am worried about all of this. I feel like maybe this is not normal. I really hope this is going to be ok.

I have had 9 oz so far today and 1 Popsicle. My stomach feels bloated and I just don't feel good. My husban is getting some Gatorade to see if that helps. I don't know what else to do. Thanks! Carol

2 Days Post Op And Confused
criney replied to Valleygirl78574's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Today is day 5 for me and I feel terrible. I only had 14 oz yesterday and 1 Popsicle. I am trying to get in liquids and hoping today is better. This has to get better but I don't know when. I thought I would get better each day and feel better by now. -
I had my surgery at Princeton in Birmingham, Alabama. I use a baby spoon and a sippy cup. I take extremely small bites. My doctor just called and said to just do liquids this weekend and sip, sip, sip. He said if I start running a fever to call him back. I am open for suggestions. This is really making me upset. I wonder if something is wrong. Carol

I did not do well with liquid loratab in the hospital so they gave me small pills of Oxycodone. It works great!!

I had surgery on 3/12, Monday, and I am wondering the same thing. I missed the part where your stomach will feel like it is cramping and will make gurgling sounds everything you take a sip or tiny bite of soft food. I can barely get 12 oz of liquid in right now and most of that is not protein. I woke up at 3:30am in pain and realized I hasn't taken anything for pain so I am up taking pain meds, walking, sipping, and wondering what have I done. I could cry with you.

I am on day 3 and have the same thing. My sleeve fusses about everything I eat or drink, which isn't much. I feel week and nauseated this afternoon. I don't know what to do.
-
Hi, I was sleeved on Monday morning. Had horrible gas pain and just came home this morning. It hurts when I drink, even small sips. I can't eat Jello because it hurts but I did eat 1/2 a popsicle but that hurt for 30 minutes. Is this normal? I don't know what to do. My stomach hurts. Any advice??

Is it normal to have pain and bloating after a sip of liquid? I am going to be dehydrated if this keeps up. Luckily, my doc gave me a bag of fluids before I left the hospital. Just worried right now.
-
Thanks! I will check on it again.

This is how my doctor's office explained it to me. . . They only take CareCredit with the long-term (24-months or more) plan. If they take the plan that allows the patient to pay early, CareCredit charges the doctor for the finance fees. If the patient pays for 24 months or more, CareCredit gets the interest payments and that is how they make money. They would not allow me to pay it off early without charging my doctor's office.
-
When I checked on this, I was told I could not pay it off early. I decided to put it on our visa card, pay it off early and use the reward points for a nice vacation.

I am using Dr. Dewitt in Birmingham. He has a great reputation and people come from all over the US to see him.
