jaimecello started following Protein, First Fill Reaction, Pounds Down Since Initial Wiegh In!!! and and 7 others
-
Yesterday I had my first fill. I have had diarrhea for the past 24 hours. The doctor thinks I may have had a reaction to the gastroview (which I think is liquid barium) that they have me during the X-ray test. Anyone else experience this??

Pounds Down Since Initial Wiegh In!!!
jaimecello replied to sophiamckenna's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't mean to be the bearer of band news but once you hit "band hell" at about week 4 things get rough. I lost 15 pounds my first 6 days after surgery and then plateaued. Band hell, as my doctor called it, was rough. I cried a lot and started eating way more than I should have- no vomit because I had no restriction yet. I guess it varies by doctor. Mine just filled my band for the first time today. I lost 2 pounds just today so I'm starting to feel good again. It comes and goes, so I'm told. Just keep up the diet and control and I think we should all do great! -
A Week Late For My Period Post Surgery And Not Pregnant...suggestions?
jaimecello replied to Char1020's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Jayeedee I was banded on the 13th too! And yup, I had period issues too. Mine lasted way longer than it usually does. Doctor said it's normal with the rapid weight-loss and stress from surgery! -
Weight Loss Since Surgery
jaimecello replied to scola1994's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Very normal before the first fill. I got banded 3 weeks ago today, and I was crying the other night because the scale dropped 15 pounds the first week and nothing the past 2 weeks. I went for a check-up and the doctor said "welcome to lapband hell- the period between surgery and your first fill"- he doesn't expect much weight loss right now. I'm quite hungry. So I have to just watch what I am eating! -

Is Whey Protein Powder Okay To Have?
jaimecello replied to mztmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor only wants me making shakes from Whey Isolate powder! It took me a long time to find one I can tolerate and it's still tough. Unjury is definitely the most decent I think! -
16 Days Post-Op And Weight Isn't Moving...
jaimecello replied to jaimecello's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks for the encouragement. I am finding this "normal" as I read. I guess I am just wanting a "quick fix"- and like I said, with the HUGE change in diet for me I was expecting bigger results. I have a doctor appointment this week so I shall discuss with him as well! -

16 Days Post-Op And Weight Isn't Moving...
jaimecello posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi all! Today I am 16 days post-op and I physically feel great. I am hungry- a lot more hungry now. And that is difficult. My first fill isn't until February 28th so I have another month to go. I'm also 21 days "sober" (as I joke) from soda. Pre-surgery I drank around 3 cans a day and I'm off completely. I'm in the puree stage and eating considerably less than pre-surgery. The first week of surgery I lost 15 pounds. It was incredible. After day 8 I've been stuck at the same number. I know I shouldn't be so concerned about the number, but it is frustrating. Anyone else experience this or have any advice? Thanks! -
Hi everyone! I'm 14 days post surgery and I am getting a strange sensation UNDER my port area. When I go from a sitting to standing position, I feel like it is snagging on something. Hoping I didn't tear a stitch? I'm an orchestra director and do a lot of arm waving. Anyone else experience this?

Losing Too Fast?
jaimecello replied to bri_belcher's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am day 14 and STILL behind on protein intake. It's hard for me to get down that much. In the morning now I make a heavier drink: 16 oz of skim lactaid (16g protein) milk and 2 scoops of protein powder. So in doing the math 16+26+26= 68g protein. I have yet to get the WHOLE thing down in a day, but it's getting closer each day. I found that making this ONE big drink is helping me get the protein in. When I was doing the smaller servings I couldn't get it down. Just keep working on it! -

Losing Too Fast?
jaimecello replied to bri_belcher's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Bri! Nope- I had the same thing happen. I was banded on the 13th and I lost 15 pounds in about a week. Now I've plateaued and have been stuck in the same weight area for a week. I'm hoping it will pick up again!! -
I was banded the same day! Must have been our Friday the 13th luck- I'm in the same boat. I've noticed my taste buds have changed a lot too. Today, I was finally able to get one serving of protein in. Of course the doctors want me to do 3-4 servings a day. I'm going to try to do better each day. 4 days ago it made me gag. Today I got some down. I think it gets better as we heal!

Finally Approved.... Looking For Support!

Bri I am 25 as well. It's difficult to come to terms with the fact that I am in this position as well. I got in for surgery in 6 days. Glad I found this forum to read about things. I am nervous!!
