Cream Of Spinach-Or Chicken,celery,etc... Soup! Yum
TheRealMeIsHere! replied to AllForMy4's topic in Purée (stage 2)
Walmart, Aldi and Shoprite all carry fat free 1/2&1/2, not sure if you have these stores in CA. -
Does anyone know of a website that lists the protein grams in most foods? This would be very helpful once I am on the puree phase. I am having trouble getting my 60-70gm/day since I only consume small amounts. I want to be able to choose the most protein dense foods possible.

Sounds yummy! fat free 1/2 and 1/2 is good in cream soups, skim plus would work too and add protein. -

Doesn't she look awesome! -
was feeling bummed, since I only lost 8lbs since surgery on 1/23, tried on some clothes I haven't been able to wear in at least a year, they ALL fit!!, I am bummed no more.

Walmart has them and so does Shoprite. They are about $4.74 for a 4 pack. You can also get $1.00 off coupons at Thecouponclippers.com. Sunday's paper, 1/22, had a $1.00 off coupon on any EAS product. My doctor recommends the EAS AdvantEdge because they are only 100 calories, 3 carbs and 17gm of protein. And...YUMMY.

I was 5 days on clear, then started my 2 wks on full liquids, this past Sat.
-
My doc said to let him know right away if I had a left side pain.
-
My doc calls full liquid, protein shakes, soups, greek yogurt, sf pudding as long as I add protein (need 60-70gm/day) and as long as there are no pieces. What does your doc allow on the full liquid phase?
-
If you are on full liquids here are some ideas. My faves, so far, are: half a can Fat free broccoli/cheese soup, made with Water, blended with a slice or 2 of fat free cheese (to raise the protein) half a can of fat free cream of celery, made with water, blended with a half a can of chunk white tuna. These take me an hour to eat, stuff kinda trickles slowly into my tummy, and leave me quite full and satisfied.

I had trouble with mine too, wasn't sure which code to use, took a while but got it!

That sucks! I was lucky, mine was done and over the few days before surgery. Feel better.

Yesterday, 4 days post op, I was sooo bored with clear liquids. I tried an Unjury chicken broth. It is really good, tastes like Lipton cup-a-soup, started drinking it faster than I should, OWWW! got halfway through, and could drink no more. Note to self...LITTLE sips!
-
Yaayy!! off clear liquids, now protein shakes, for 1 week, then yogurt or pudding w/ protein added, for another week. Pain is easing, never had incision pain, just tummy pain, especially when drinking. Today I will try to take no pain pills..
