    trying not to cry, but..

I'm so sorry, what a disappointment!! Maybe the new insurance can use what you've already done?? Don't give up, if you have to begin the process over, just look at it that either way 6 months will pass. You can choose the time to make a positive move or not. Good luck
  3. I just had to share. When I weighed myself this morning, I am normal!!! From morbidly obese to normal in about a year. Still have 20 more lbs till my goal, but I can see it!! When I had 160lbs to lose, it seemed insurmountable. Although my sister assures me that I am only 'normal' because the scale doesn't know me ;) LOL!!

    Syntrax Nectar Medical Unflavored

It is unflavored, so no, not sweet. There are also chocolate and vanilla, which I have not tried.

    Syntrax Nectar Medical Unflavored

Have you tried egg white powder? It is the closest to tasteless that I have found. I tried Jay Robb, but there are others, even saw one in the baking aisle at Shoprite!

    Body Contouring Seminar Tonight!

I say, the more information, the better. The more time you have to gather info, learn, ask questions, the better prepared you will be when the time comes. Sometimes you learn enough to ask questions that you never would've thought of before.
  8. Now 6's fit AND...even some 4's that I held onto from years ago!! They don't even have any stretch to them!! So...Why do I still feel fat?

You could also try bringing the stuff to your local support group or see if your doctor knows anyone who needs.

    Healing Improperly?

My sleeve was done laprascopically, so was able to sleep normal. Side and stomach mostly. Even slept on my stomach the first night.

    My Funniest 'compliment' Yet!

wonderful complement!! I think his 'tact' was just fine, he told you, honestly, that he sees a BIG improvement!! Us adults could learn a lesson from him.

Meeting People To Do Things With

I do volunteer at the skilled nursing unit, where my mom is. Besides that hospital, there is not much around here, as far as volunteer opportunities. Meetup, seems like a great thing, I've been a member for about a year but haven't been able to attend any outings due to finances and/or timing (have night blindness and have a really hard time driving after dusk) I LOVE being out and about, and with a fun group of people! Do I just have too many constraints to work around? Is it not possible to meet some fun-loving people, if you haven't lived in the same area all your life?
  15. All my life, I've bounced between 275lbs and 115lbs. Now that I am nearing my goal (hopefully for the last time), I'm feeling social and energetic. I always feel better about myself when I am thin, and am basically a hermit when I am fat. The last time I was thin, I lived in a different area, so now don't have any friends, in my area. How do I meet people? I don't work, as I am on permanent disability, I do go to the gym everyday, but most people, including myself, are focused on working out not socializing. There are MANY things I enjoy, hiking, music, camping, arts & crafts, learning new skills, horses, animals, children, movies, books, plays, construction and home repair, etc... How do I begin to have a social life??

    Runns

I did. Checked with nurse and, as I thought, liquid in=liquid out. As long as it is not severe and causing dehydration it should get better once on purree.
  17. Anyone have the sleeve covered with Fidelis managed Medicaid. Doc thinks it may be a problem, but will push for it due to severe ulcerative colitis. I did not get surgery two years ago, because sleeve was not offered in my area, and I will not have band or bypass.

    Protein Powder Help?

My favs have been EAS AdvatEdge RTD-coffee and chocolate flavors are AWESOME! strawberry not bad, either. Pure Protein powder-Very rich and creamy Designer whey powder- Several good flavors If you need unflavored, I found Jay Robb egg white protein powder to be the closest to tasteless, as 'unflavored' does not necessarily mean taste free.

Fidelis managed Medicaid in NY state

I'm sorry to hear that. Can the doctor resubmit for approval, emphasizing comorbidities? Sometimes insurance automatically denies, the first time, sort of like a reflex. They save money, that way, because only the truly serious will appeal. Good luck

Fidelis managed Medicaid in NY state

I think I only had to do 3-4 months supervised weight loss. The nutritionist was a bit of a drive, so I did one of my supervised WL visits with her and the rest with my PCP.

    Tasteless Protein

Several months ago, I was looking for the same thing. A nutritionist suggested egg white protein powder (I tried Jay Robb, but there are others). It is the closest to tasteless that I could find. I mix it with smoothies, yogurt and Crystal Light (you do need to use a blender, when adding it to liquids, or it will be lumpy).

    Too Much Protein?

The UCLA Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery program recommends 1.1 to 1.5 gms per 2.2 lbs of your ideal body weight. http://bariatrics.ucla.edu/workfiles//UCLA-Bariatric-postoperative-diet-instructions.pdf Good luck to you, sounds like you are having a terrific start to your journey.

    First Day At The Gym

Sometimes...the people who look as if they do not need to go to a gym are ex-fatties or even post-op patients. There have been several people at support group, that when they got up to speak, I was thinking, what do they know about being fat and needing bariatric surgery? Sure enough, they were post op patients. One girl even works as a Zumba instructor. You never know...

    Super Small Amounts Of Food?

I'm over 7 months out and can usually eat a whole egg or yogurt. Sometimes that is still too much. Most times I can eat 1/4-1/3 cup of food. NUT says I should be able to eat almost a CUP! I don't see how, that just seems like a huge amount.
