I just told them I'm on a diet... it's worked so far in fact they want to join me... lol I told them its a liquid protien diet, no lying there -
It's important the band heals right so dont eat anything solid. water 3 oz of cottage cheese, pea Soup, mushy carrots down to a liquid and drink away. Dr said it's ok just nothing solid or starch, or Fiber. it will stretch the stomach. You can liquify fruits or vege's Banded Jan 19 moving around great, down 32 pounds today... but I'm a guy, we loose faster.

The tighter your waist band the more it pulls on your stomach muscles, mine stung so bad after wearing jeans I put them away for a week. I'll try again tomorrow and see if it still pulls. when I wear loose waist pants or sweats it feels fine.

it's not a big deal. The key is to drink a lot first then eat, if you sip your drink after you eat it will make the food go down faster and you'll eventually loose your full feeling. the first 4 weeks you should drink fluids anyway and you'll see what I mean. good Luck!!!!

I was really scared to go out of the county. Frankly the thought of flying after surgery didn’t appeal to me either. Also getting the fill adjusted is quite a trip, my mom had it done and goes to N Bend every couple of months to adjust her fill... You might consider changing your mind. Of course others have done it in Mexico, I'm sure you'll be fine, take some meds and you wont even remember the flight, lol There are support groups up there, Dr Tersigni's office knows how to reach them. google his name and you will get his site. -

Fun isn't it? My Dr wanted me on liquids for 4 weeks. helps the band settle down and you cant stretch it out while it's healing. I actually haven't started walking til today. My port feels like it finally settled down and doesn't hurt anymore. I may tell the Dr not to give me a fill until I stop loosing weight -

I originally was going to be banded Feb of 06. Took me 9 months to get up the nerve to go through with it. I changed my surgery date 5x. Most insurance will only cover complications, you’ll have to call them. I needed a EKG and blood test forget which ones. Insurance covered that by getting my primary Dr to give me a physical and run the tests. Also they want you to meet with a shrink. They also require you meet with a nutritionist before the surgery, this was very helpful. It costs $300 and she is available by cell phone anytime you need her. In hind site I wish I just would’ve done it last year. Could’ve been lookin’ really good by now! Don't hesitate it really works... -
banded Jan 19, can do sit ups, port feels like it tears away from stomach wall. I can ride a bike and lift dumbells. Used to be a red belt in Karate for 3 years cant wait to get it back, good idea
