To Tell Or Not To Tell That You've Had Lapband Surgery Or Wls(Weight Loss Surgery)
yvonne74 replied to lafaye999's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I chose not to tell anyone at work. Only my immediate family know about the surgery. The reason I didn't tell coworkers is b/c I know how bad they talk about people and look down on others for the slightest reason. When I came back from time off from the surgery, I just casually mentioned that I had hernia repair. Telling or not telling is a personal decision and only you know your situation. For me, I know nothing good would come from me telling anyone. -
I am definitely not an expert but sounds like you are too tight. If you are vomiting after that amount, it could be too much restriction. I got my 4th fill on Monday and I can definitely tell this round that I got it. I am eating way less and feeling full much longer.
-
This is my fourth fill... I have had to really control myself before and I could eat anything/any amount.
-
How are you feeling? I had a lot of gas pain in my neck and jaw after the surgery. Don't know how he is with you but with me, he hardly ever talks! However, this last time, he said more words than all times combined. lol

I got a fill yesterday and I think I might finally be in the "green zone"?? Or is it too soon to tell? Yesterday and today, I have eaten half of what I have been eating since the surgery.
-
Carcamo banded me!!
-
I am not in the "green zone" yet but hope to be soon. I am a little over 2 months out from surgery and I keep it at the most 1000 calories, 60-80 grams of protein and around 60 carbs. I wish I was one of those that had restriction so easily but I am not. So until then, I count and watch everything I eat.

Tricare Prime South Approval..........but Madatory 1 Overnight Stay?
yvonne74 replied to candtwalker's topic in Insurance & Financing
I have Tricare Prime South and I was required an overnight stay. I also got a surprise bill from them as well. Tricare did NOT cover the whole procedure. I owe over $4 thousand and wasn't expecting it either a bill either. -
Do you go to this meeting?

I did complain but none of them seemed to care. "We can't do anything for you until you lose weight. So when you lose some weight then call us for an appt." They refused to see me anymore until I lost weight unless I was willing to do the bypass. (Which I did not want)

Hi, I am Yvonne. I had my surgery on March 9th and think I am doing ok. I am not in the green zone yet but hope to be soon. My highest known weight was 296 but currently 255. What pushed me to have the surgery was getting dianosised with Diabetes in Oct. 2011. I had been thinking about the surgery since my youngest sister had the surgery 2 yrs ago but never thought "I needed it". I thought I could do it myself but I have failed all the diets I've tried. I was turned down by 2 doctors, they told me I was too fat. I was determined to check out one more dr and go with their decision. Dr. Carcamo agreed to do the lapband. Now, I am down 255, a little over 2 months after surgery. My name on MFP is weightloss_dreamer if anyone wants to add me.
-
No, I haven't been back to them since I was told I was too fat for the surgery by the PA in Temple..
-
I have 5 dogs (Lab, Dalmatian, toy poodle, toy pom, and a small mix) They are all my rescue babies and did really well with me after surgery. I was worried about them as well but I found they were the least of my concern when I came home.

Nope! Wish I was joking but unfortunately I left the Dr's office crying that day. -
5'4 Whats Your Goal Weight?
yvonne74 replied to JanellesMommy8210's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My Dr hasn't given me goals.. Pre-surgery the dietician asked me what I would be happy with but never said this is where you need to be.. Now saying that the first Dr that rejected me as a lapband candidate said I needed to be down to 123 in 1 yr (at 5' 2.5") in order to be considered a success. Therefore, I would never be successful and he wouldn't do the band on someone like me. -
Wasn't sure where else to post this but here goes: To all the teachers out there: HAPPY TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK!!

I've started doing flutter kicks. I have the low belly to work on, too! Hopefully, the flutter kicks help.

I had to meet with the psych lady but she did most of the talking so that went well. I had to do that test with way too many questions.. Bubbling in the ovals was tedious work but I passed.

I can eat hamburger with no problem. However, my sister has issues every time she tries.

Is this an app for the phone? I will have to look it up.. Thanks!

Eating fast is my problem too, especially at work. I get 30 min for lunch. However, it doesn't work out that way. By the time I heat my lunch, go the restroom, get ice and when I finally get to eating, I usually have 15-20 at most to eat. Don't get that much when someone comes in and wants to chat. I was told to follow the 0-30 rule with drinking. (nothing to drink until 30 minutes after your meal finishes). This is something I really need to improve but it will not happen overnight.

I went to three different doctors before I found someone who would do the lapband on me. I, too, was told that I was too fat for the band. However, after tons of research, I found many people who have had success with the band and I was determined to get banded. I had my surgery on March 9th and loving it. Like the others said, do your research and if you still want the band, don't let them tell you no.. I would also find another support group. I haven't gone to any support groups yet but don' think I will either.

I got my first fill at 2 wks out.

I know how you feel b/c I feel the same way. I so want to take up running (outside) but am afraid of what people will think.. My goal is to run a 5K one day but won't be able to do that from my living room. I know I need to just suck it up and get out there but chicken
