Getting Frustrated-Weight Not Coming Off Like I Thought It Would
yvonne74 replied to kariew28's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That calculator thing says that I should be eating a lot more than I am now. In fact almost 3 times what I eat now. These results will help you determine the calorie count you need to maintain your current weight or to achieve your goal weight in a healthy and steady manner. You need 2310.9 calories per day to maintain your current weight without exercise. You need 1791.9 calories per day to reach your goal weight slowly and maintain that weight without exercise. If you reduce your current caloric intake to 1810.9 calories per day you will lose one pound per week without exercise. If you increase your current caloric intake to 2810.9 calories per day, you will gain one pound per week. -
I tried this tonight for the first time and my problem was once I switched from running to walking, I had a hard time starting back up the running.. I only did 20 mins. of this tonight.. Its a start right?

Weight has always been an issue for me but my "ah ha" moment was when I got diagnosised with diabetes. I think it finally hit me that all my problems (dizziness, moodiness, my high blood pressure, sore back and feet) all had to do with the weight.. I have two small children and realized if I continue on that path, I would not be around to see them get married or even graduate high school. I was tired of sitting on the side lines watching life pass me by. I couldn't do hardly anything b/c I couldn't fit in/out or I was too tired.. Unfortunately, not many people I know have commented on the weightloss not even my parents or co-workers except for a handful. I can literally count on one hand the number of people that have commented on the change. For some reason, one person has really stuck out was a former boss. Just the look on his face and his words, just really made me feel good about it. Now, I know I have a long ways to go but it helps to hear those words of praise every now and then..

Started Exercising And Stopped Loosing Weight?
yvonne74 replied to aliciab's topic in Fitness & Exercise
Glad to know the scales started moving again b/c I have started to get frustrated. I'm stuck and so far no scale movements.. Looking back I should have started with the tape measure so I could tell if its coming off in inches or what.. -
Oh, have fun in Italy!! I have always wanted to go there! Ok, obviously I am not use to this whole exercise routine so I have a question. I went to jazzercise twice (Thurs and Friday).. Both nights, I was starving and could not get enough to eat. Before I was doing just water aerobics and doing fine on 800 calories a day.. But the two days I did jazzercise, I was around 1200-1300 calories.. Is this normal? Will my body adjust after I have been going to jazzercise a while?

Hubby won't be home until the end of November and left before my surgery (he left in Feb.) so no clue how the sex is yet. So I will just have to take your word that its better. Hoping that by the time he comes home, I feel more confident and weighing less.

How is everyone doing? I gained 4 pounds (during TOM) and that took what felt like forever to lose again.. Now I haven't lost anymore since then.. I have to admit the last month wasn't a good one. There was lots of stress at work, 3 baby showers, 1 graduation party, 1 Teacher of the year party but I passed on the cake at all of the events. I started jazzercise this morning so hope that helps get me back in gear.

Until this last fill, I could eat everything....Now, I can not eat pizza crust (no matter how thin it is) and hamburger I really had a bad stuck experience with meatloaf last week.

Tuesday Was My Big Day....
yvonne74 replied to lucky2bLAURA's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded March 9th and it took a while for my appetite to come back. Remember to take it slow and not rush yourself. You are healing right now and that takes a while. You will do awesome! -
Sorry to hear about your port!

I agree with everyone. There are rude people everywhere and its not just men. So glad your hubby didn't take him out. I've heard the fat comments all my life and it doesn't matter who says it, its hard to take..
