When I was first banded, I expressed my concerns to the dietitican about how hungry I was and all, she said there is no way he would give me a fill so early. I was even more frustrated at the thought of going so hungry. Thankfully, my appt with my surgeon was later in the afternoon and he did give me a fill. So definitely talk to your surgeon and just let him know whats going on, the worst he can say is no fill.

Congratulations!! Such great news!

I am a yankee transplant as well and love it here! I only miss the snow and color changes in the fall.

I hate looking at pictures of myself! There are very few pictures of me b/c I hate how I look in them. Its evidence of how I didn't take care of myself. Even now with what bit I have lost, I still don't like looking in the mirror or pictures. I can't see a big difference between then and now but my husband (who is in Kosovo and skype with every day) says that he can see it. But I think he is just saying it to be kind.. I have a long road ahead of me.

I bagged up my clothes and put them on the curb.. Then I posted a FREE ad on CL .. They were gone within minutes.

I take Fiber supplements on a regular basis and double up (bottle recommends 2 a day but I take 1 a day) when I feel constipated.

Did your surgeon give you anything for the nausea? Mine gave me a wonderful anti-nausea medicine plus the pain meds.. (phenigern?) -
How Long Does Restriction Usually Last?
yvonne74 replied to bandedgorJESS's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is what happened to me. I had good restriction with my fourth fill and now (6 wks since last fill) I am starving. I would say its time for another fill.. I'm hoping I get restriction again with the next fill.. -

11 Months, 131 Pounds Gone - Normal Bmi!!!!

How long have you been at restriction? I see you had 7 fills. Do you think its restriction that really helped or will-power? Cause I am really fighting with wheel power right now. I thought I was in the "green zone" but these past two weeks, I could eat a house if I didn't cut myself off. -
If you had a catheter then you might have an infection/bacteria transferred.. Hope you get some relief soon!

I have had 4 fills. I can get them every 4 wks if needed. I didn't get one at my last appt but think I might ask for a small amount at my next one. I have the larger band (14cc I think).

I'm on MFP (user name: weightloss_dreamer)... Eat your protein first, then veggies.. Make sure you are waiting 1 full minute in between each bite. My goal is 60g of Protein or more a day. and drink water, water, and more water..

You should be fine. Just remember to get up frequently and walk around. I drove a week after my surgery and did good.

That's Alex! Check out his Spotlight in the Newsletter.

Where in Texas are you? I am in Central Texas but was banded in San Antonio. Do you have MFP? There are some of us over there and I really enjoy the support they give. (as well as here)

At the moment, I am doing jazzercise 5 times a week. I was going to water aerobics and loved that but my babysitter went on vacation so as soon as she gets back, I will start going back there as well. I really want to start the C5K but haven't a hard time with that one so far.

wonderful news! Thanks for sharing. I hope I will be able to post this same thing down the road!! Congratulations! -
Keep doing what you are doing. You have just hit a plateau and you are probably losing inches or toning up. Make sure you are getting enough calories and eating the right foods.

greek yogurt and ranch dressing mix... Great dip for veggies (I use spicy ranch sometimes) yummy. Even my kids eat it and love it.

So How Honest Were You....
yvonne74 replied to Riker990's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Only people that know are the people in my immediate family. The few co-workers that asked about my absence (and change of eating habits) I told that I had a hernia repaired (which I did). I figure its no ones business but mine. I don't think any good would come from telling anyone at my work. They are so negative about everything that it would be more stressful telling them. -
Has Anyone Ever Over Eaten
yvonne74 replied to Bamabander's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
yes, I have and it wasn't a good experience either. After reading many posts about people not eating enough, hitting a plateau, etc. I thought oh, maybe thats my problem so I tried increasing what I ate and that was a BIG mistake!! Lesson learned: listen to your body and the band will tell you when enough is enough. -
Bariatric Advantage
yvonne74 replied to Ready for the change's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My Dr is the same way but I talked mine into letting me use GNC brand that his partner lets his patients use. I could not stand the BA Protein powder.. I do like their caramel calcuim chews, which tastes like candy and I feel I am cheating eating them. -
This Might Be A Stupid Question...
yvonne74 replied to Lacey8724's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I asked mine and he said its very little. However at my 2 wk appt, he said I had 3ccs in it from the surgery and then gave me my first fill at that same appt.
