Day five of liquid pre-op diet: Hungry..but mostly just head hunger. I want a bite of something so bad. My stomach gurgles so bad sometimes. I cheated last night and had a cube of cheese..lol. Not a big cheat I know but it still makes me feel a little guilty. 9 days left of this madness before surgery, and then two weeks after surgery. Can you say 'not excited' ? BUT for me to stick so hard to this it makes me realize that I am SO READY for a change. It kinda feels like torture...but I you gotta do what you gotta do right?? And I am committed.

lol i use the dark chocolate almond milk and with chocolate or vanilla protien tastes pretty awesome. I dont like the way it feels when I swallow it cuz it feels so light, so i add about a teaspoon of Peanut Butter to it to make it taste and go down better.
-
Yikes!! that is hardcore..after seeing yours..i feel kinda better about mine LOL
-
Lol Carlos...its funny you say that. I am the same way. Milk disgusts me..and it always has. I can't even drink Vanilla Soy or Almond milk because it looks too much like it lol I can put it in my cereal, tea or even have chocolate milk but I cant drink it plain. My liquid diet menu is basically just that liquid..with sf popcicles, sf pudding or jello. Im dyin LOL

Why can't you get more fluids in? Are you nauseous? Can't keep anything down? Have you tried different kinds of fluid? I have never even had surgery and my body doesn't tolerate plain cold water well (makes me super nauseous)..so I drink a lot of flavored waters, or the gatorade rain, green tea.

My doctor said I could stay on my activia regimen because it helps me....(Go) *blush..that jello, sf pudding, protien shakes, broth, crystal light (or other sf, calorie free drinks..i just like crystal light best) and water are all I can have. So far so good. The shake seems to stall my hunger for the most part. Heres to praying it stays that way.

Its suppose to shrink your liver so that when they are in your abdomen they can go under the liver with no problems. Every surgeon has different guidelines.

I Have Told Everyone I Know? Am I In The Minority?
tasherie replied to sabrina140's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I only told the people closest to me. I already felt that people judged me for my weight, and I don't want them judging me for choosing WLS. Its really none of their business anyways, I am a very reserved person so they are kinda used to not knowing everything anyway. -

Do I Have Any Chance With This Gastric Sleeve Appeal?
tasherie replied to lisahg's topic in Insurance & Financing
I was approved after being denied at first. If you want to take a look at all the information I included in my appeal you can check it out on my blog. Hope it helps! -
Yes it does! If you get denied keep fighting. I am proof that you can win.
-
Approvvved after initial denial! I have wanted to put a post up like this for a while LOL March 8th..OMG lol

:banghead: Spent ALL day writing my appeal letter. They denied me because my BMI is not 50+. Carefirst...sooo behind the times. I kind of knew I would be denied at first anyways so I was really prepared with my guns already cocked :aureola: ..so hopefullyy with all the information I just threw in their face I will be getting my approval soon. LOL :Banane56:

Submitting To Insurance..and So Nervous
tasherie replied to time4menow's topic in Insurance & Financing
Have you looked to see what the medical policy guidelines are? I have Carefirst BCBS of maryland and they have this wierd requirement of 50 and over BMI. They denied me, but I have appealed and hopefully I will be getting my approval soon. Good luck to you! -
And thank you everyone for your encouraging words! They really do mean a lot. :biggrin5:
-
Well it is a covered procedure, and even in their update it is proposed as a stand alone procedure but they still carry the stipulation that you have to have a BMI of 50 or higher whether its the single procedure or a two part staged procedure (VSG..then DS), which is kind of outdated since the last update on the matter was in 2008! SMH I will make sure to keep everyone updated, cuz I am sure someone else will have to go through the same thing.

Date Question, And Is There Anyone Who Had To Do Six Months Get Their Surgery Sooner?
tasherie replied to Kiki Von Moonshine's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi I am still in the process also. (Just finished my six month appointments today..yay!)..your appointments dont have to be exactly 30 days apart as long as you have a weigh in once per month at least 2 weeks apart (what my insurance company told me..I have carefirst bcbs of maryland) so if you time it right you could finish in the beginning of July..and depending on approval time and how fast your insurance company works could have surgery that same month.
