I am leaving on Wednesday to go to Mexico for lap band surgery. After two years of researching it I am finally doing it!

Glad everything went well for you today! I was thinking of you this morning. It looks like you do have wifi so I think I'll bring my IPad with me to keep in touch with my kids back home. Keep posting on your recovery. I am going home the day after surgery myself. Congrats on your success so far. You did it! Safe travels home

I am on day 8 of a two week pre-op diet. It does get easier as the days pass. It's almost like your body does an about face knowing that it can and will survive on the diet. The first 3 days I thought I was going to starve and die, but stick with it, the hunger pains will subside. Stay strong and don't watch the food Network whatever you do! you can do this! keep your eye on the prize!

All the best Meredith! I have have just started the second week of my pre-op diet and the second week is a lot easier (at least for me) than the first few days on it was. I think my body now realizes that this is all it's getting and I am not going to starve! not nearly as hungry as I was. Wishing you lots of success and stay strong on your liquid diet.. it takes lots of willpower.. you can do it! Lisa

Hi all! I am soon to be a Canadian bandster. I will be having surgery in Mexico on January 25. Will be starting my pre-op diet next week! It was very hard to convince my husband that this is the best option for me. I currently weight 261 and would like to lose 100 pounds with the lap band. Is this possible? I have high blood pressure and thyroid issues out the ying yang. My doctor recommended I have the lap band surgery and I have after care for fills etc set up in my home city for when I return home. Glad to be in the company of other January Bandsters.. New Year, New US!!!! Best Wishes to all.
