    How Long?

I had surgery on a Friday, was back at work by the Monday, was also off the pain meds by that monday. It took about 1 week to be able to sit up without struggle. By two weeks I was doing everything as normal, still holding my stomach by force of habit, after the surgery, but generally I felt just fine.
  3. My surgeon and nutritionist recommend going back to liquids a day or two after every fill.
  4. today was awsome! did a mile in 16 minutes, talk about nsv! did soooo many reps weight training and zumba! I am feeling way encouraged. Saw a girl who went from 305 to 187 in a year, lets see what I can do!

I changed my biggest one but I'm not sure when to take everything off. I'm considering stopping at CVS after work to pick up a box to use on them. Not sure if I need to though. Surgery was 5/11

    Ugggg!! 9 Days Out...

Ugh I feel ya, once I started mushies I started to notice that I could start feeling hungry. I'd suggest taking a shake and mixing fruit and greek yogurt in it. The yogurt and fruit will make it a little thicker. The fruit also has natural sugar so it decreases the need for sugar. If you do though use splenda, it's not half as bad as it seems, trust me this is coming from someone who wouldnt touch the stuff! Not to mention all the protein!

    2 1/2 Weeks

Met with the surgeon and my nutritionist today, things are well. Fill in two weeks, mushies for 7 more days and apparently I lost more than normal for a band patient. Doctor says since I'm young and ultimately healthy he wants me working out every day. Haha I said to him "Every day??". He goes 5 days a week. And thats fair, I can make the gym 2-3 days a week and a few miles at the park the rest of the days. Scale hasn't gotten under 285 yet so I've got lots of work to do. Need to work on my grazing (I'm a freak for fruit so I induldge) since I've started mushies, and drinking while eating, it defeats the purpose.

    May Bandsters!

I more than highly doubt it. No you don't get cut again Fill for more will be 4 weeks from May 11th Had surgery Friday morning, was uhmm.."ok" on Monday night. I was off the pain meds by the Monday when I went back to work, but I couldn't really check my blind spots and such due to soreness. Goodluck!

    May Bandsters!

In regards to the work statement, I was banded Friday 5/11, luckily I don't work on Fridays or Saturdays, I took off Sunday and was back at work at 1230 on Monday. I think both the fact the I'm 18 and that I'm only a receptionist worked in my favor for recovery though.
  11. On to mushies today, trying egg salad out for size.

The best part? That I want to celebrate by going to the gym, not eating a million course meal! Its been a long time, but I did it, which means I can do it, and anything else I put my mind to. I have never been so happy in my life, I have to take my nails off but thats the lest of my worries, I just, its a great feeling!

    May Bandsters!

One week post op as of yesterday. Doing fantastic! Started getting all my shakes in yesterday, working on not dying while climbing stairs. Down 17 lbs since surgery. Still a ways to go but I'm def confident! Hope everyone is doing well.

    Post Op Questions!

I was banded on 5/11 Not even 8 oz. of anything until day 5. Absolutely not! I crushed them into apple sauce then washed it down with a sip of water. Pain level was never more than a 7, even when I was right out of surgery. Around day 4 it was tolerable. As of today, I can get up out of the laying position with no struggle. Nothing for gas pains, still waiting it out, I really haven't even had any pain from that. I slept like a rock for the first two days, pain meds, up to today I haven't done much walking, went back to work on day 4? But I'm a receptionist so I sit at work anyway. I can't climb stairs..well I can but I feel like I've climbed Mt. Everest when I get to the top so I try not to if I don't have to. I have the same problem, I'm thinking thats why I'm so weak about taking stairs. I'm terrified to stretch anything so if I think I'm full I call it an abrupt quit. I'm at 1 11oz protein shake a day, and 12 oz of water. I did start taking my multivit again though, and that has seemed to help a bit.

    Bandages & Bathing

To anyone who has had the surgery already, when did you remove your bandages? I'm 5 days post op, I've changed them, but haven't taken them off yet. Also when did everyone start taking normal showers?
