I Figured It Out... It's Elastic's Fault!!
Dacoop replied to FLORIDAYS's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
You are amazing. I can't wait tell I get there. -
This is funny that this post is here because today I am in that stage and I am craving something crazy. I found something to help. Healthy choice has a new Greek frozen yogurt. It is amazing. Low calories and low fat and lots of protein. I told my nutritionist about them and she said they are fine for me. So there you go a sweet tooth satisifier.

Good luck to you. It is the start to the new healthier you. It is an amazing journey. We are all here for you if you have any questions.

I also want to go to Victoria secret and buy a cute bra and panties. I can't shop in there now because stuff doesn't fit.

That's crazy that there are a lot of people feeling the same way. I have lost 78 LBS and I am cold all the time. At work I am having a war with a Coworker. When I get to work I turn on the heat and then as soon as she gets in on goes the AC. I am glad I'm not the only one freezing. I also have to say this is the first summer in a long time I really enjoyed the hot weather.

I was banded last Dec 2011. I let my daughter know I was having surgury. I told her I was getting it done so mommy can be the mommy I want to be by playing with her, going on bike rides, and yes even getting in a swim suit and going swimming with her. I told her I didn't want to be the mommy sitting and watching I wanted to right there with her doing it. I told her that if I lost the weight I wouldn't be so tired and could do those things. She was pretty scared for me but my husband and I assured her I would be fine. She came up to the hospital later the day of surgery and saw me. Which wasn't the best because they gave me too much meds to put me to sleep for surgery and I was in and out and very sick. It ended up my doc made me stay the night to monitor me. But there is one thing I do remember my daughter came over to me and said "mommy I don't want to hurt your feeling but your still fat!" I laughed because I didn't realize she thought they were going to cut me to pieces to make me skinny that was why she was so scared. She is OK now but she does say I was more comfy when I was larger. Haha. The only time she was gotten a little uptight is when she has seen me stuck a couple of times. She is my biggest cheerleader and always says slow down and chew. I love her and glad she helps me out. Today is her bday and she is the big eight years old.

"stuck Episode" Best Thing To Do Is....
Dacoop replied to A New New Dawn's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have had a couple stuck episodes. The first was bad with dry meat. I tried everything and nothing worked. I was stuck for about an hour n half. I think the meat was lodged in there. I chuged a whole water bottle of water and it pushed it through. I wouldn't recommend that because it really really hurt then I thoughti had a slip. But luckily I was OK. The stuck was on a grief wonton filled with cream cheese. Yes stupid I know but I was hungry so I know I didn't chew. I was stuck for two hours. My husband told me was calling my sister which runs our er here or we were going to the er. She told me to drink a few sips of soda because the carbonation will help it push through. The second sip made me hiccup and burp at the same time and it was gone. I always keep one of warm soda whichs works better than cold just in case. Let me tell ya I chew well now. I don't know when I get stuck it takes forever to pass. -
I just went to my doctor and I am down 12 lbs in a month. So I am at 75 lbs. I was scarred to go because with summer and my band feeling tighter I haven't ate the best. I can only eat a tiny bit at a time so I had been eating more slider foods. But I do have to say I have been doing great on water intake. I think I am starting to get the hang of this and maybe I just might be at 100 lbs by one year which is in Dec. I just was so excited I had to post it

I am a cosmetologist myself and about 3 months out from surgery mu hair was coming out in clumps. I asked my doctor and he said it wasn't the band but the anatesia OK can't spell. I wasn't sure how true that was. So I went reading online. I started taking 10000 milagrams of biotin that I found in one tablet. I will warn you biotin can bloat you or give you gas it is a side effect of it. But who cares about gas if you can still have hair. The other thing I found out is to take a zinc pill as well so I have been. I take just one a day. Then I also read even though you eat protein you don't always get enough so I started adding two protein shakes a day with the unjury protein. I like that protein because it is high quality and no fillers. I was using bosley shampoo and conditioner for about a month and then stopped the shampoo and conditioner because it was drying.out mu hair too much. Most those hair loss shampoo conditioner are focusing on healthy scalp so of overly cleans scalp and then also that means your hair. With over cleaning hair it dries it out and can make it brittle and have it breaking off not just falling out. With our hair loss its not the worry of an unhealthy scalp its the inside us we need to focus on like biotin protein zinc. I do recommend using a good moistizimg shampoo and conditioner after all your hair has been through with surgery. Good luck your hair will turn around mine did. My hair is growing back in!

Has "hunger" Changed For You Since Banding?

I am at good restriction so no pizza for me be because it will get stuck. Earlier before good restriction I probally could had some. But I am gonna tell you at my surgeon would tell me why are you having surgery if you aren't changing your ways. I have gave up lots of my and have found alternate likes or differerent variations. In doing this I have lost 75 lbs and still going. Good luck to you.

I am in the green zone. I went to doc on weds and down another 12 lbs in a month. That is a total of 75 lbs. I have great restriction but can't eat breads pasta or rice. I am careful at eating now. I had two bad struck times and I have learned. I realize the tighter I am the better I have to be with chewing. This is a learning process. There are days that I can eat something and the next day I can't eat it. But I love being in the green zone and feeling very satisfied. Its the first time in years that food isn't my number one thing in life. I am getting to the point I am OK without a lot of foods and I think that has a lot to do with the green zone and being satisfied.

I am ready also!

I am going to get my book back out and refresh. It couldn't hurt to get back on target.

I had one time before that I was really stuck and I got through it. I have had little tiny stuck episodes that didn't last long and got through them. But last night I got stuck OK I know I shouldn't have ate it but family was eating Chinese food and I miss it. I ate a wonton with the cream cheese in it. I chewed and chewed and thought I was good to go. I started to feel tightness and thought oh this will pass. So I was going around and cleaning up the house. I realized then I was not good. I had that sharp bad pain then. With my tiny stucks I could take just a couple tiny sips of pineapple juice and I would be fine. After two hrs of my body trying to throw up sweating and just plaining foaming bad my husband said he was taking me to the er. I said no call my sister which she works in the er and she told me to take a couple of sips of pop and the carbination of the pop made me burp majorly and it FINALLY WENT THROUGH! I was exhausted. I wanted to let you all know the tip of the pop to help something go through. I don't drink pop after surgury but if I ever get stuck again I will sip on it to help.

Thank you everyone so much!

OK lunch is all packed for tomorrow. Tomorrow is my first day of working for myself. I worked for a corporation for 15 yrs. I got fat and didn't feel good about myself. Now I have lost 72 lbs and I am feeling great. I decided its time to go out and make my own money since life is going in the right direction. Wish me luck I hope all goes well. PS it is so much easier being a cosmeologist being Skinner to stand on my feet all day long.

Congrats you are doing great!

So I weighed this morning and I am down 70 lbs. I try not to wiegh myself everyday because I have learned the scale can go a tiny bit up or down. It is discouraging when the scale wont move. I have the bmi App on my phone and I am going by what it says I should weigh. By the App I am half way there. I am feeling so great with that much weight gone already. I was talking to my doctor and I don't know if that number is possible. I am going to keep going tell I feel I am at the right size and weight for me! It has been a hard journey so far but so worth it. There are the few stuck moments I have had and wish the band didn't do that but its always my fault. Usually eating too fast and way too big of bites. Other than that I love my band it has given my life back!
