I should have taken the day off! So..its my birthday today and co-workers, who know I'm pre-op and living on nothing but Protein shakes and lawn clippings, BROUGHT ME CAKE! To make it worse, my cubicle mate is eating fricken fried chicken! Do you know how good this smells??? AGGHHH... So I am breathing...drinking some Water...about to mix my lunch shake...and then I plan on walking up to my co-worker and punching her directly in the face. Who fricken microwaves fried chicken and then eats it right in front of a person on a diet? Who also brings that person cake??? She's about the nicest lady you have ever met- it's not sabotage or anything as exciting as that....she's just not thinking....God Bless Her! I have resisted temptation...but just barely. I keep thinking- small liver...I have to learn to say no...and It's frowned upon to punch people at work. Heading out for a lunch time walk now!

Mine is next tuesday...we are getting close!!!

I'm on day 3 of my pre-op liquid shakes and a salad diet and lost 4 pounds so far.

LOL! I almost dislocated my finger trying to pull my wedding ring off yesterday. I used all kinds of lotions and potions...and finally. Now I have this crazy indent in my finger. I didn't want to wear any jewlery to Mexico. I don't even recognize my hand! My hubby noticed I had it off right away and I was like...Be good or this is the future! LOL. He has a good sense of humor.

Great suggestion Dooter! Stay Busy. I just laid a tile floor in my laundry room for the past two days! Its really tought to eat with your hands covered in grout!

Welcome!!! I just starting posting myself after lurking forever. This site is amazing and everyone seems so friendly. Congrats on your upcoming sleeve...mine is a week after yours- so we can go through this together! I ordered some samples of the shake you mentioned and hopefully those will taste better than the GNC Lean Protien. I wish you the best and make sure to post about your recovery...you have a ton of friends now!

Hi All, So I have been following this thread and all the advice and I had to share my update. I posted earlier that I was freaking out also and this is the end day 2 of my pre-op. I jumped on the scale and I lost two pounds! In two days! The shakes taste like a$$- I"m using the GNC Lean protien shakes...ugh...I went online and ordered samples from some sites I've read people talking about on the boards. So Heres my thinking- as I am gutting through the shakes i Keep telling myself I am drinking liquid skinny. It's silly i know...but it makes them taste a little less chalky. I have no doubt that one of these samples will be the magic shake. Anyway...I'm less than 9 days from my sleeve. I think the pre-op diet is definately about getting my head in the game. My husband- god bless him, ate a ton of those little pizza pockets today during football. Normally i could down a bag of those without thinking...I had no desire today. PS> I had to start my diet a little later than planned due to a newly burst cyst on my ovary- I was out of commision for two days. I hate PCOS! I'm fine now...so no worries. The weight loss will help with the cysts forming and hopefully over time we can send PCOS packing! Just another benefit to my sleeve and another reason to do my best on the pre-op diet...I want this under control as soon as possible!

Hello! I'm so glad you posted this! I am terrified to start in 4 days. I feel like I am giving up my friend. I know it's stupid and I have to get my head in the game or this VSG is just a waste of time and money...I get that...but you just gave voice to the secret inner thoughts I have not shared with anyone. I know I have eaten enough for a lifetime...I can't put my finger on why I am so food obsessed right now. I have wanted this for over two years. I know I am ready. I am researching a counselor to try to understand myself a little better. anyway- thank you for your brave post. I appreciate it.
