Mine was scheduled for 2 weeks post op, but my surgeon called to check on me and I told him that one of my inisicions looked red he had me come in one week post op. He placed me on antibiotics then. I went in 5 weeks post op for my fill. I also met with my nutritionist and my therapist that first week post op. I can call whenever I want to meet with the nutrionist or the therapist, which is extremely nice

I have been reading and keeping up with everyone. Congrats everyone who a few days post op. I am 4 and half weeks post op and I struggle with cravings also. I try to avoid it if I can because I have trouble not over doing it. I was 23lbs down at two weeks post op and then the wt loss stopped. It was very frustrating, but today I am down another pound Hopefully my body is over that inital shock of losing so much wt so quickly. I go for my first fill on 2/9 and I can't wait. When is everyone's first fill? I hope everyone is doing well! Erica

I understand being frustrated. I was told by my dietican that you should avoid slider foods like yogurt and pudding because it doesn't keep you full longer. She said you should shoot for protiens to be something you have to chew so it stays in your belly and you have to eat less of it. Just a thought. Good luck and hang in there!

2 Weeks 2 Day Post Op..
ericaharrod replied to rachelcummings's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am a week and half post op and still on liquids. I would think fried foods might upset your stomach. Give it some time, I sure you would feel better soon. GL -
Ahealthiermom- I was told to make sure I start protien shakes three days post op. I also eat broth, cream of mushroom (blended and strained), and potatoe Soup (also blended and strained.) I am 4 days post op and woke up this am feeling pretty good. I was able to sleep on my belly last night and slept awesome!!! I am still sore but haven't taken anything for pain in the past 12 hours. I have also lost 8lbs in the past 4 days, love it! It has been a great morning, except this is the first day I have to watch my two year old twins by myself. I am trying my best not to have to pick them up. How is everyone else feeling? How are all the preop people doing? Erica.

I also use EAS. I mix ice, milk, and pb in mine, it last for 2-3 servings and taste awesome. I have also tried half a banana, that was pretty good also. Another recipe I tried and liked was 1 scoop chocolate protien powder, 1 tbsp instant decaf coffee, splenda, and ice. It makes something like you would get at Starbucks

Nicole- with the walking and motivation... I think my motavation has been that it will make me feel better sooner, at least just being post-op. It sounds like you are doing great, keep up the good work. Wow, 4 shankes and 64 oz of water, you are the woman! I have been getting 2 shakes, some broth, and 50-60 oz of water down. I am acutally starting to feel hungery, which I am not too happy about. It was nice not to feel hungery so I wouldn't have any cravings. So far so good, I haven't strayed I have noticed that it is hard when preparing food for my kids not to snack, but that is one of the ways of how I got here, so hands off! I hope everyone is doing well! Erica

I was banded on 1/5/12, so I two days post op. My surgeon has you stay overnight, which was fine with me. You come out of surgery with a pain pump, which was nice. I could also get IV nausea meds frequently ( I throw up very easily,) Thankfully, the meds worked and I have been vomit free! As for pain, it isn't nearly as bad as a c-section, but there is still some major soreness. I think a lot of my sharp pain is related to gas from the surgery. I have felt a lot of pressure in my diaphram, which has made it hard to take deep breathes and also right shoulder pain. Gas-x has helped with that pain. As for my pre op diet, I had to do 1500 calories a day for two weeks to shrink my liver. Sounds like I got lucky! Good luck to everyone in the process!

Hello all fellow January Bandsters! My surgery is Jan 5, just two days away! I am so excited to start my new life post surgery. I am a little nervous about the surgery, in particular the anesthia and not throwing up afterwards. I am excited to be starting this journey with all of you!

I can't believe I have let my self get this bad. I live in Louisville, KY and my surgeon is Ben Tanner. I am very excited to start this journey. Good luck to everyone!
