Why My Size Is The Same
SexySlim replied to daly contreras's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
+1 to the group. I'm down 41 lbs and still wearing the same clothes. My 20w work slacks are loose but I can't fit an 18 yet. I can tell I'm losing but would like to buy some smaller clothes. I think it's because I'm tall idk. Sent from my iPhone using VST -
4.5 Months Out And Not Doing Well

I'm no expert, but I suspect your calories are too high for your height. How is your diet? Are you eating mainly protein? -
Made My Goal :) And Venting Frustration...
SexySlim replied to GonnaLoseIt's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can so relate! I was talking to my mom last night and told her I'm almost at my 40 lb mark and so happy. I said I want to be a size 12 or 14 (I'm 5'11"). She said I remember that time you were drinking those Protein shakes and you looked emaciated. I was like whaaaa. I said I never got under 200 lbs or smaller than a 16. She said well you don't need to be smaller than a 16. *crickets* Celebrate your success and ignore the nay-sayers! -
Hey sleeve sis! I look forward to your blogs every Wednesday. I'm down 4 lbs this week (technically 3 with the gain last week). 39 total. I did the Komen race for the cure Saturday so I think that was all the cardio I got in and once on the Wii. My eating was so-so last week and I did eat a hot-n-now donut from Krispy Kreme. It was soooo good. I'm trying to just save my sweet treats for the weekend and be good during the week. This week I got tired of protein shakes in the morning, so this week I'm doing Chobani with granola, and the granola is actually keeping me regular, so I think I will stick to it.

Anyone Have Sensitivity By Cuts
SexySlim replied to kenbr14's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm 10 weeks out. Mine aren't really sensitive but there have been two instances while I was asleep I woke up because they were burning. It felt like I was being sliced open. Sent from my iPhone using VST -
This Is Finally Becoming Real!

I remember having that same feeling! You are in great hands with Dr. Kelly. Good luck! Sent from my iPhone using VST -
How about one of those pedal things. Like the bike without the seat. You can have it by your couch and pedal as you watch tv. I'm sure that has no weight limit. Sent from my iPhone using VST

I did a quick search and only found some that go up to 400 lbs. Can you make time to walk outside in a hilly area? Hills are great cardio! Sent from my iPhone using VST

The scientific answer to why is because our bodies like to adapt and don't want us to be thin. Our bodies think we are in a famine and are holding on to our precious little fat cells. But keep doing what you are doing and your body will eventally drop the fat. I consider myself a slow loser as well, that's why I would always give up on diets. With our new sleeves, we have the tool necessary to finally reach our goals. Keep up the good work and switch it up sometimes to shock your body.

Congrats! I love the elliptical! I ordered one from Nordic Track and is should be coming this week!

What's your BMI? I think he only gives the pre-op diet for larger patients. He didn't give me one, my BMI was 49 but I did my own pre-op diet and lost 10 lbs in 2 weeks. I just did protein shakes then a regular dinner. It was supposed to be just meat and veggies but it was bad food, but I still lost and stuck strictly to the 3 day pre-op diet. That's very important. Most important in fact.

Oh sorry. How about a makeover at the makeup counter. That's little and I think they only make you buy one product. New workout clothes/sports bra. New iTunes. Jewelry. Charm bracelet and get a new charm after every mini goal. Sent from my iPhone using VST

Oh I just remembered another one. When I finally get to goal (been trying to get there my whole life), I want a professional photo shoot.

I know when I reach my goal weight I'm getting a Michael Kors purse. I don't really have any mini-goal rewards. I'm already really good at loving myself and showering myself with gifts

Week 9 (Or 10 Depending On How You Look At It) - Postop
SexySlim commented on mrsteacher's blog entry in Sleeved by Dr. Kelly in Mexico
That's good that you still lost after the holiday. I had my first gain but I'm not worried about it. It's my TOM and I didn't drink enough water over the weekend. I was out of town and ate all kinds of bad food. I only worked out twice last week. My elliptical is supposed to be coming soon so I will try to get on it everyday. -

Laxative/stool Softener W/o Cramping
SexySlim posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So I'm still not regular. I'm 8 weeks post-op. I tried the stimulant laxative and get mild cramping. I tried to stool softener Colace thinking it wouldn't cause cramping and I woke up in the middle of the night with severe pain and spent a lot of time on the toilet Any suggestions for something that won't cause cramping. I'm miserable -
Two Months Postop (Week 8)
SexySlim commented on mrsteacher's blog entry in Sleeved by Dr. Kelly in Mexico
I understand. My PCP is the one that suggested I get the sleeve. I will tell him I went to Mexico and then tell him I'm going back to BCBS Federal because the nutritionist was incompitent and unprofessional and that's why I never got an approval with Kaiser. I'm down 36.4 lbs total which includes my 10 lbs pre-op. -

Also, did you see your PCP for your blood work yet? I made an appointment for next month. I should have tried to schedule it earlier so it would be right at the 8 week mark. -
Two Months Postop (Week 8)
SexySlim commented on mrsteacher's blog entry in Sleeved by Dr. Kelly in Mexico
Good job! I lost 4.2 this week. I think because I started back having a protien shake in the mornings. I only got in 2 workouts last week, but my brother got married Sunday and I danced the night away, so I'm contributing my loss to that. I, like you, also do not count calories. That is not a way of life. I eat what I want in small portions. I was away the whole weekend and I think I did pretty good considering the fact I ate nothing home cooked. The hotel had breakfast and I had sausage and a french toast stick, or greek yogurt and strawberries. I had half a piece of cake and half a kiddie portion of frozen custard this weekend. I feel really good and I got a lot of compliments about my weight loss. I ordered an elliptical machine yesterday, I have always wanted one. I can't wait to start! Keep up the good work sleeve sis -
