White, Fleshy, Mucus In Stool? Tmi Warning!
SexySlim replied to Thinner Peace's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I posted this exact same question a while ago. I saw this after I took a stimulant laxative. I think it is musous, I was told that those stimulant laxitives pull out a lot of gunk. I haven't taken anymore of those laxatives and haven't had that happen again. Good luck. -
I like Gunnar Peterson's Core Secrets DVDs. He uses a stability ball and dumbells. They are kinda old but very effective. He trains celebrities. You don't feel like you are doing much cardio-wise, but I wear my heart rate monitor and my HR gets pretty high. Since they are old you should be able to get them very cheap now. I really want to focus on toning so I'm not left flabby. I started with 5 lb weights and am already up to 7.5 lbs after two weeks.

Good luck. I was sleeved in TJ by Dr. Kelly in March and to this day my mom doesn't know I went to TJ. I called her while I was there and had to lie to her. I told her I had my surgery 3 weeks later when I saw her face to face. I lied and told her I had it done locally. Sometimes we have to keep the truth from the ones we love to protect them.

Congratulations! You will love Dr. Kelly and his work. I wish I would have known about it when I was your age

Why Are My "supporters" Questioning My Choice.....? (Long)
SexySlim replied to charmichelle's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Definitely find some new supporters. You will find out who your real friends are after your surgery. I had a really close friend that said she's against me having the surgery but will support me. She is big too and I'm sure she didn't want to be the fat friend. Well we are still friends and she's actually losing weight on her own now so maybe I influenced her. You will see who is real during your journey. Good luck. -
16 Week Stall?
SexySlim replied to smoor43832@live.com's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm in my 15th week and just hit my first one. We all have them. Just keep swimming -
Sorry, I'm not buying that. That sounds like a scare tactic to me. The only way to rupture your suture line would to be to stuff yourself silly. I can't see anyone WANTING to eat more than the 1/2 cup of food the sleeve allows. I was told you are fully healed after 6 months. I know for a fact that you have scar tissue that grows over the suture line. So it can't just rupture like that. I'm 15 weeks out and only threw up once because I ate something I had no business eating 3 weeks out, and it came out my mouth and nose. Do you think I threw up ever since then? Nope. Maybe these people she's allegedly referring to didn't get the psy evaluation and behavior changes required/recommended with WLS. Just my 2 cents.

Surgery In Mexico...3 Month Follow Up?
SexySlim replied to JenC's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved in Mexico in March and had my PCP run my bloodwork. My insurance gave me the run-around for my approval, he apologized for the Nutritionist being incompitent. Anyhoo, I told him I went to Mexico, he ordered the bloodwork that he uses on any WLS patients. It measured all of my vitamin levels. He wants to see my back in 4 months (my cholesterol was still a little high). -
Good job you are so close to Onderland! I lost 0 this week, and 1 last week. So I think I'm on my first stall Not too bad for 15 weeks out I guess. I ate a lot of junk last week, I was in Atlantic City for the Holiday. So I'm not sure if it's a real stall or just not losing because of the junk. I'm not worried though, I can tell I'm shrinking and today wore a blouse to work that I haven't been able to fit in years. It's a size 14/16 but it's a long tunic and it actually fits over my large hips now. Yay NSV! That's cool about your co-worker. Only a few people know I went to MX to get sleeved. Still keeping the big secret from my Mom. At first I thought the surgery you were talking about was plication, but I'm not sure now. Hopefully you can convince him to get the real sleeve. I talked one of my friends out of the crapband, and now she's getting sleeved. I feel like a spokesmodel now LOL! I'm still doing Zumba classes and my elliptical, but now my Mom has an XBOX Kinect and I so want one now. I played Zumba on it and it's great. Maybe I will get it when I hit the 50 lb mark which is 2 lbs away.

Before And During Pics (13 Weeks Out)
SexySlim posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Hi losers! I took some during pics this morning. The before pics are 2 weeks before my surgery, right before I started the pre-op diet. The current pics are 13 weeks out (as of last Wednesday). Before I was 288.0 lbs and now 241.0 lbs (47 lost). I was in a size 20W (very fitted) and now I can wear a 18 Regular. I just want to be a size 14, I don't ever remember being a 14 in my life. I'm a tall amazon queen, so I will see how 200 lbs looks on me first and then assess from there. Happy losing! -

Wow I could have written this myself! I have a PhD, I've always thought as myself as beautiful on this inside and out, I just could never get a hold of my weight issue. I think I went on my first diet in 6th grade. Getting this surgery is the BEST thing I have ever done for myself and I would do it 1000 times over. Best $5500 I ever spent

That's good that you still had a loss after that weekend. One of my best friends came to visit and I ate a lot of not so healthy things. But we were active. We went horseback riding, sailing, and walking around DC to the monuments. I was down 2.2 lbs last week. I think I only officially worked out once, but so far this week I've worked out everyday. My NSV last week was I was able to buy some size 18 regular Bermuda shorts. I was really happy about that. I got my first "wow you've lost a lot of weight" comment at work yesterday. That really made me happy too. My total loss is 47 lbs. So close to 50!
-
Moms will always have their say. You just still gotta love 'em. Mine is the opposite. Last week I went out and got some new bermuda shorts because I want some summer clothes that fit. I went to NY & Co thinking I won't be able to fit the 18's yet. So they fit and I was sooooo excited! I told my mom I'm finally in a regular 18 and down 45 lbs. Her reply: well don't overdo it, don't get too thin. Whaaaaaa??? So now an 18 is thin!!! I told her I just want to be a 14 so I have 2 sizes to go. She was still negative. Needless to say, I will not discuss my weight or size with her ever again. She came to my house last night and said look at you skinny lady. I said thanks. This morning I told her I'm 3 lbs. away from 50 lbs. I guess I'm excited and want to share with her, but better prepared for the backlash. We have to remind ourselves we made this decision for us and nobody else. So keep up the good work!

SexySlim replied to 1920-Zeta's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hey good luck with your surgery. I'm a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha. NP Chapter Spring '99. When is your walk? Make sure you're at least 6 weeks out, you may have serious fatigue. I did the Komen walk earlier this month. I lost 4 lbs that week -
Considering All My Options: Mexico Vs. Us

I'm not sure if they do anything different but my surgeon did stitch over the staple line. Maybe that makes it tighter by reinforcing it? -
Considering All My Options: Mexico Vs. Us
SexySlim replied to WLJourneyJ's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
The Mexican surgeons have more experience than the US surgeons, in general, when it comes to WLS. I was sleeved by Dr. Kelly and would do it 1000 times over again. This was my first surgery so I can't compare it to anything, but I had no pain and only nausea for one night. Of course I was worried about the possibility of having a complication once I got back, but I didn't. I stuck to the prescribed diet and let my new stomach heal. Worrying about a complication is normal where ever you have your surgery though. -
I absolutely love Zumba! I can't really remember my first class but I'm sure I wasn't that great. The main thing is it's a fun dance class. People are so into it that they don't have time to look around and judge you. As long as you are still moving to the beat, you are burning calories. Keep going!

Week 12 (2 Months) - Post Op
SexySlim commented on mrsteacher's blog entry in Sleeved by Dr. Kelly in Mexico
Awesome you are so close to onderland!!!! I lost 4.0 lbs this week making my total 44.8 lbs. I had my first Zumba class Monday at the new center and absolutely loved it! This is the third instructor I've had and she was the real deal! I can't wait to go back tonight. I wore my black pencil skirt to work yesterday and I was literally swimming in it. I'm not sure how I'm going to handle the clothes thing. I don't want to invest a lot of money until I'm at goal. For my casual clothes I have been shopping at the cheap stores and buying maxi dresses. I think this weekend I will take my "during" pics and compare them to my before pics. I haven't been measuring so I will be using the pics instead. Keep up the good work! -
People Sleeved Around 03/22
SexySlim replied to bethany1987's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved on 3/28 and I'm down 41 lbs. That includes 10 lbs lost on the 2 week pre-op diet. I am 5'11" and my start weight was 288. I consider myself a slow loser as well. -

Wow awesome! You look great and you are glowing -
Oh wow I had no idea she lost 55 lbs! I feel like I'm a slow loser as well, but I'll take a slow loss over no loss. I had my visit with my PCP this morning. I thought he was going to freak out that I went to Mexico but he told me he had a patient that went to Mexico for the band years ago. Of course she had complications and the insurance would not pick it up. I'm thankful we haven't had any. He ordered the bariatric blood workup for me and wants to see me back in 4 month. My cholesterol is still high, but I know it's because of genetics. My BP is low, but he said not low enough for a concern and to just eat salt. I do feel normal and I'm living a normal life. Sometimes I miss food, well I guess the amounts, but I'm happy with my loss. I'm down 1.8 this week for 40.8 total I'm still wearing the same size, eventhough it's very loose. My elliptical was delivered last Friday and I've worked out on it twice and am going to Zumba class tonight.
