How Many People Have You Told?
blondeblueeyes replied to sweetsoutherngirl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Of course husband & sons but no one else. Don't need the hassle of comments. Went to dinner with friends had alittle wine and 2oz of salmon. Much different than before but its all good. My friends had no idea they just thought I'm on another one of my "diets". Maybe down the road but right now I don't want to tell anyone. -
December Bandsters!! How Ya Feeling??
blondeblueeyes replied to loretta\ Baconton Georgia's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Saw my dr. today, said you're done with the liquid diet of three weeks now on to soft foods for three days. After that more of a regular diet with food that I can mush up with a fork. No more protein drinks or jello! Danced out of the office, no fill said I had some in me from the surgery and to see him in a month. Told him I'm still freaking out of only losing 2lbs over two weeks, told not to worry it will come off slowly. Okay so here I go with the next step in my journey. Still worried about eating more than 500-800 calories per day otherwise I might not lose anything. At least that's how its been for the last two weeks. When they say to eat 1/2 cup of food is that both protein & veggies at one sitting? thanks -
December Bandsters!! How Ya Feeling??
blondeblueeyes replied to loretta\ Baconton Georgia's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Still the same issue, 10lbs first week, battling 2lbs for the last two weeks. See the dr. tomorrow, & I'm really hoping that this does not continue. 500-800 calories per day & walking 5 days a week for half hour to go up/down over 2lbs! I'm sure when he starts the fills I'll still be only eating 500-800 calories a day. Sorry so down, but I could have done better on my old way of dieting. Hope something changes soon. -
I have completed two full weeks of a liquid diet post of & for the last week I haven't lost a lb! I'm drinking 500 calories a day and walking for 30 minutes per day. Could my body be holding on to every ounce for I am also not visiting the bathroom much either! The first week average of 700-800 calories was the norm. I know that I'm in the healing section not the losing weight part as of yet, but 500 calories & no weight loss! Help!

I too was banded on the 29th, lost 10lbs the first week & only 2lbs in the last 2 weeks. Walking everyday at least 30 minutes, having protein drink for breakfast, yougurt for lunch & some type of soup for dinner. Lots of water & coffee with f.f. creamer for breakfast. Calories between 500-800 per day. See dr. on thursday & I know that we're healing but do we stay on 500-800 per day to lose 4 lbs maybe per month? I guess I'll see. Good job on your weight loss, hopefully I'll get there soon! Do you get any sharp pains across your stomach? At least once I day I do. Wondering if that has to do with eating the creamy soup.

Pre-Fill Appetite...hoping This Is Normal!
blondeblueeyes replied to hotpink7's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I lost 10 lbs the first week & the last two weeks its's been up/down with the same 2lbs. Wearing me out! Hungry, liquids, soups & hoping that I can start losing sometime soon! See the dr. on thursday, don't know if he will do a fill but something has got to change! I guess we'll keep each other up by watching our calories & knowing we might be eating around the same amount of calories for the next month or so. When will 800 calories equate to weight loss? -
Not An Oz Lost!
blondeblueeyes replied to blondeblueeyes's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Two & half weeks with 12.lbs loss, 10 of it the first week. Doesn't seem right to lose only 2 lbs in two weeks on 500-800 calories a day. Oh well. Seeing doctor the 19th, i'm sure he'll say to stay on 800 or less calories per day so I guess slow & steady is the course of the day. -

blondeblueeyes replied to loretta\ Baconton Georgia's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Really sorry to hear of the events in your families life right now, prayer is always first. Stay busy at the gym for it will do you good. Weight loss is great, I was banded on the 29th & still have only lost 11 lbs with 10 of it in the first week. Keep up the spirits -

December Bandsters!! How Ya Feeling??
blondeblueeyes replied to loretta\ Baconton Georgia's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Two full weeks today on liquid going from 800 calories down to 500 per day. no weight loss at 800, went to 700 lost .3oz, next day put on 1.6 lbs! Went down to 500 & NO lost. Okay I think I'm staying away from the scale, upping my calories back to 750-800, still walking 30 mins per day & to just relax! My stomach is still spasming daily, bathroom visits hardly ever. Waiting for some great stuff to happen soon! I quess we all just hang in there & know it will all get better soon! -

blondeblueeyes replied to itskimberly's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I too have lost 10lbs from my surgery date & not a lb in the last week. Slow & steady coming off since it probably went on the same way. (at least with me it did). Keep up the good job! -
How Often Do People Weigh Themselves?
blondeblueeyes replied to Gizmo29's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded on 12-29 & was losing around a lb a day, then .3, ,3,.0,.6 & today a gain of 1.4lbs! It sets my mood too much that early in the morning. Going to try a couple of times a week instead of the daily check. No change in eating, & added 1/2 hr walking my dogs to boot! -
Have You Had A Unfill Just For Vacation Reasons Or A Break?
blondeblueeyes replied to sweetcalichic's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded on 12-29-11 & have our 30rd anniversary in May. We're going on a 8 day cruise in April & I was wondering the same thing. I dont want to go crazy after 4 months but I do want to enjoy myself. I guess I'll ask my dr the same question as time gets closer. -
Help! What Do You Recommend For Bowel Movements After Lap Band Surgery?
blondeblueeyes replied to thinspiration's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
After taking milk of Mag in liquid form you end up with liquid comimg out. Just like they said there really isnt any substance living on a liquid diet. -
Had banding on the 29th, lots of gas, pain, burping which has gotten much better but now today I have sharp pains in the lower right hand side of my stomach. I do not have nausea, vomiting, fever, etc but I'm wondering if its gas, consipation or period coming on. Still drinking my liquids but this has got to quit! Don't think its a appendix problem, at least I hope not.

December Bandsters!! How Ya Feeling??
blondeblueeyes replied to loretta\ Baconton Georgia's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded the same day as you and the hungry is definately there, I think the reason for liquid in a cup almost the whole day. My doctor does not have me on mushies for awhile, another two weeks of liquids. First fill 1-19-12. More Water might help fill you up. -
Difficulty With Bubble Post-op?
blondeblueeyes replied to pilze0's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wrote my dr concerning the elephant sitting on my chest & burping everytime I stood up for the first week.He said two things-still swollen insides & it takes about a week for the swelling to go down so the chest feels alittle better. And he leaves alittle fluid in the band so that will effect the chest & cause some burping. Keep drinking just slower, give it time & pretty much had a liquid in my hand the whole time that I was awake. It's a little better now. Good luck! -
You should have been told to eat Protein drinks, pudding, jello also. Fat free & Sugar free of course.

Lower Right Stomach Pain
blondeblueeyes replied to blondeblueeyes's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Okay first time was Monday night when walking the basset hounds, hurt all day tuesday. Walked with them again Wednesday night & this morning went to the dr. after being awake with stabbing pains all night long. Had read about Chronic Appendix that doesn't show system & husband/I were freaking out! Dr. states that % of patients have pain from the cut & it will take awhile for it to heal. So no appendix nor constipation as we thought but a real stabbing pain from the surgery. Other sites don' t hurt so this one has me really puzzled. Hope there is no infection, etc in my bowels, etc. So hubby will have to walk all 3 hounds while I walk beside him. That will be a sight to see! -

December Bandsters!! How Ya Feeling??
blondeblueeyes replied to loretta\ Baconton Georgia's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Back to work today but with my right lower stomach still hurting really badly. So off to the doctor for a chronic appendix or severe constapation was what the "self help" sites stated that it was. Doctor said nope, 20% of his patients basically hurt from the cut that it feels like you have torn muscles which indirectly you do-except they are cut. So not dead from appendix just feel like *())*&)*& when it hurts. Oh and I'm hungry. -
Banded on the 29th, told only liquids for three full weeks. Hungry-yes but I drink a protein drink with up to 2 cups of skim milk over 1/2 hour and I'm good for awhile. I don't think I would do well with soft/mushy food as of yet-stomach still needs healing. I do hope that drinking up to 2 cups of anything is okay, can't just do 2 oz or so. Fitday.com or loseit.com says i'm eating around 700 calories so I should be good, so maybe you can try more protein drinks or yougurt instead of trying soft foods already.
